So, I was referred here by some real estate flipper friends who are very fiscally conscious. So I looked up this place online and drove by a few times. It is located in a very strange location, but that's irrelevant. When you go inside, they have so many options of tiles, granite, quartz, cabinets, carpets, floorings, etc to chose from. More importantly, they have high quality options to chose from. The service: I was very lucky to find Le to help me. He was very knowledgeable and genuinely want to help me. He was also very generous with his time explaining to me the differences between items. I feel like I can be a contractor now. Just kidding. But most importantly, he was very honest and not pushy. Which was much appreciated. I was The price: I have many friends who are remodeling their houses right now, and they have much less square footage to deal with, but paying the same amount as me when I have ordered Made in USA and Italian flooring. So.... that's definitely a win. And they've told me they have researched and compare prices a lot. That tells me, i don't need to waste my time looking anymore because I'm at the right place. The verdict: Don't let the bad reviews fool you. I wasn't dissuaded by them obviously, because of being referred here. However it did put my guards up after I read them. Don't purchase from here - they may have competitive prices for countertop slabs but it's not worth the hassle dealing with them/risk for delivery. Unless you can supervise the full process of choosing your materials & installing yourself, I'd stay away. We purchased a few countertops from them and ended up using their recommended installer for simplicity. It ended up being installed incorrectly & undercut by an inch on most dimensions. When reaching out to the installer & store, both gave the run around. "It was the installer", "its how the store requested it to be cut", "its how you asked it to be cut." None of their back and forth made sense and wasn't worth the initial hassle/savings in the end because we had to have the countertops re-cut and polished by another contractor. read more

So I was there with my wife a couple of weeks ago and we were looking at flooring and there was what appeared to be a salesman behind a desk in the front office with a customer signing some paperwork. We were looking for flooring and tile. I knew this salesman was busy but after that customer left in his brand new diesel Dodge pickup truck that he left idling in the driveway the Salesman continued to ignore me and my wife. I asked the salesman if he had something to wipe the dust off the floor sample because it was covered with dust and he said I don't need to and the corner didn't have dust. so I was done. I put it down and walked outside and waited for my wife. We ended up buying $4,500 worth of Vinyl flooring elsewhere and $2,500 worth of tile elsewhere too. So sorry guys, you treat your customers like trash then they take their business elsewhere. And PS: You should clean your samples periodically. read more

"Trust is everything," says the owner. Great hook to get new customers especially in a hyper competitive market like OC and other online stores. My mom who mainly speaks Vietnamese and feels comfortable dealing with Viet contractors, decided to purchase supplies from this place for her bathroom reno, all based on "trust". Who would have guessed that first meeting was a scam and these people are crooks. It is places like these that give Asian businesses a bad name. My moms quartz countertop shipped to the store and we came to pick it up only to find it severely damaged. When we asked the store for a different one, they told us to take this and leave. Say what?!?!?! This is not like a small hole in a shirt... (even then a clothing store would let you return/exchange)... we are talking about a damaged countertop that you use for years! I have lots of experience dealing with contractors during home remodeling projects, but this was by far my worst experience: 1. I mainly worked with the salesman, Kevin, to pay for the materials and labor throughout the whole process. He told me I would only paid the workers for 2 things: 1) $50-$100 tips for moving big furniture around the room and 2) $50-$100 when the contractor pick up the carpets from my house. However, it was not that simple how I had thought. After removing the carpets, the contractor wanted to charge me $500. I told him that I was not aware of this extra charge and told him that I would check with Kelvin to confirm if that was the case since it was not on the contract between him and I. I called Kevin the next day and he clarified that I would only need to pay $100 when the carpets get picked up and nothing else to the contractor, and he also said he did not know why the contractor wanted to charge extra me on aside. Good thing that I checked with Kelvin, otherwise, the contractor would have gotten my $500 extra. 2. Other reasons that I was not very happy with the contractors: a. They did not cover up all the items inside my house throughout the process, causing everything get dusted. b. They expected us to clean up their trash at the end of the day, which included empty boxes from the vinyl, left-over vinyl, and vinyl dust from sawing. We had to clean our whole garage every day after they left and put everything neatly for them to come back and use the next day. c. They scratched and scraped the wall paint in every room that they worked on. My house was built 6 years ago and it was newly painted, but this crew was not careful when they were carrying things (vinyl boxes and carpets) around the house. d. The crew did not put the furniture back to the original location. e. As part of the contract, all trash for project was supposed to be picked up. However, the contractor had sneaked a lot of the trash into our home trash cans, where I had no room to throw my personal trash. Our trashcans were full and we were 4 days away from pick-up day! I had to call Kelvin to get the contractor come back to pick up all his trash. f. They scratched and ripped my furniture. g. The contractors were inexperienced and not detail-oriented. You basically had to point out what needed to be fixed; otherwise, they would left it alone and considered their work was done. h. They did not install door stops back in each room for you. i. I know I shouldn't expect much of a Vietnamese-owned business, but my Vietnamese relative referred me to them. Their customer service is worse than subpar. I had some wood flooring from them and needed more to finish my project. Called in twice: one dude said he'll check their inventory for me and hung up on me. The second call was with a lady, who didn't bother to check their inventory and just simply told me I can't order through the phone and hung up immediately even though I had other questions for her. I gave them 2 stars because they were able to simply get me the equipments I ordered. Overall, they don't have a lot of inventory. Most of their materials need to be ordered in advance. This place is a joke. The owner, I cannot recall his name, has a mustache trying to sell me a countertop for my bathroom that I did not want. I wanted a white Carrara marble countertop and he messed up on the invoice. It is now ordered at the store and I pointed out the one I've chosen. He said it's the "same thing." It's not. Now he's pushing me to buy the one I "ordered". I refused to get it because they are completely different. He tries to sell it, saying it's the same concept when they make the color. He's obviously blind because it's brown and I wanted gray. Please save your money and go somewhere else. They buy it from wholesale and jack up the prices. I know Home Expo has mixed reputations, but I have had a very positive experience with Home Expo because of Lee. If you go there, ask for Lee and work with Lee only. Lee was very upfront with me about pricing, he showed me the materials and let me make my own decision. More importantly, he educated me on how some contractors made measuring errors and then blame the problems on Home Expo. My contractor made a measuring mistake, and because Lee already told me what could have happened, I knew not to blame Home Expo. That said, Lee was fast in fixing the problem for me, and I really appreciated that. Now I have learned to read reviews with a critical eye, because it is not fair to blame the business if there was an error committed by someone else. Anyway, I have an A++ experience with Home Expo, but it was because I worked with Lee. He is friendly, honest, and very professional. read more

This Home Expo took on the name of the larger "Home Expo" that is the higher end of Home Depot, but it's not the same. I'm a total bargain shopper (who doesn't want to save $, at anytime but especially in our current economy?) & shopped at many places before I was drawn in by the low prices & great variety of selections at this mini-Home Expo. However, the good part stops right there. I will add a detailed explanation just HOW horrible later and explain why. For now, I just wanted to warn fellow Yelpers. Manager Lee there is a professional, honest and outstanding person. You should ask for him to get great prices and help. He knows so much about the products there. Home Expo has great selections of shower doors, windows, tiles, cabinets, bathroom materials, doors, carpet, and wood floor materials. We have bought doors, wood floor materials and bath tiles and marbles there. Their prices are excellent. I shopped around a lot. Their quality are kind of high end at low prices. Sometimes there customer service is not that great because they are so busy because their prices are so low for the high quality in their products. I was recommended to this place by one of my contractors to order the cabinet for my kitchen. At first, the experience was good. Lee was very enthusiastic in helping with the design. As I was shopping around, I found another shop near by house (405 Cabinet and Stones) which has better quality cabinets and the price was significantly lower so I decided not to go with them. However, since Lee was helping me with the cabinet, I came back and purchased three piece of quartz stone, a kitchen faucets and three small cabinets to use for my breakfast nook areas. The cabinets were quoted much higher than the other shop but I bought them because they have the white color that I like. However, when I opened one of them at home, the cabinets are very poorly made, very thin and flimsy. I asked them to exchange but they refuse even with the unopened boxes and my willingness to take percents off for restocking fees. I would not go back to this shop and wouldn't recommend anyone to buy cabinets from them. The biggest difference between this shop and the other shops are that they don't have their stocks hence the order takes long and the service is poor because they rely on the wholesaler. One the other notes, their markup are ridiculous. I paid nearly six hundred dollars for the three cabinets which would cost me only $300 at Home Depot and everywhere else. read more

I too look for bargans and when you compare their prices to that of Home Depot/Lowes, they are similar in many cases. However, you can bargin here.... My wife and I negotiated our pricing by buying more items and in the end, we won. Only deal with the owner, Ken. I had poor service with other staff. I bought tiles here and asked them to provide me a quote to have my bathroom remodel. They were busy so they referred another contractor to do the work for me. It has been a nightmare. The contractor they referred; he is inexperience, did a lousy job; tried to cut corners. Our experience with Home Expo was an excellent one great selection and affordable prices I would recommend price comparison bring what you have found at other places and compare it with what they have... sometimes they may come off as rude so ask only for Mr Le... he is my contact he was very professional and helpful with my Kitchen remodel he was patient and spent a lot of time with my wife and I and he shared some very good suggestions that worked out better for our floor plan, his cabinet installer was a true finisher(Martinez) as he used finishing moldings for the cabinets that others did not, we also purchased wood flooring, the price we paid was $2 less a square foot than what I would have paid elsewhere, and he does not charge extra for some pretty good jokes...:-). I would recommend Mr Le to my friends and family, infact it was a family member who recommended him and experienced the same treatment that i did with Mr Le and Home Expo. read more
