I never realized how nice this store is compared to the San Diego store until recently. My husband and I were in Orange County this past weekend and on a whim I told my husband I wanted to go to IKEA to get some ideas for shelving in our guestroom. What I love about this store is that it has its own parking lot; unlike San Diego where it needs to share parking with Lowe's and Costco, IKEA Costa Mesa has its own plot of land that isn't shared by any other store. Not only that, but everything is really well organized and despite the number of people in the store (basing this off how full the parking lot is), it doesn't feel crowded in this store. I feel like I can breathe here and not have to worry about being behind a slow couple or bumping into kids. The checkout area is busy but there are lanes with cashiers and self-check out. We were out the door in about an hour.

The employee at self-checkout was friendly, she offered to help scan my items, which I appreciated. Overall, IKEA is a great place if you're looking for affordable home furnishings and organization products. Just be prepared--you'll probably leave with more than what you came in for!

He listened to what we wanted, offered practical suggestions, and helped us make decisions without ever making us feel pressured. In fact, we were so satisfied with the final design that we decided to move forward within just two days. One thing that really stood out was the showroom itself. It's spacious, welcoming, and filled with many of the most popular styles for kitchens, bathrooms, and home remodeling projects. Being able to see and compare everything in person made the design process much easier. The entire team was also fantastic. Everyone worked together seamlessly, and the atmosphere felt genuinely collaborative. Unlike some places where you feel like everyone is competing for commission, the staff here seemed focused on helping customers find the best solution and making sure customers felt comfortable throughout the process. Their materials were very competitively priced, and from everything we've heard through friends, family, and other homeowners, the quality and durability of their products are outstanding. However, for a high-end appliance store, I expected a much more professional and welcoming atmosphere from the moment we arrived. The receptionist appeared far more interested in scrolling through social media on her phone than acknowledging or assisting customers. Even a simple greeting or explanation about wait times would have gone a long way. First impressions matter, especially in a luxury retail environment where customer service should be a top priority. I would highly recommend additional training for front desk staff on professionalism, attentiveness, and customer interaction. Edit to add response to the business: To clarify, this visit did take place at the Costa Mesa showroom on Saturday around noon. We were walk-ins and completely understand that scheduled appointments may take priority. My concern was less about availability and more about the lack of acknowledgment and professionalism. I appreciate you taking the time to reply publicly, but I was surprised by the comment regarding not having record of our visit, especially since we were not checking in for an appointment, nor were we asked to leave any information as we were barely acknowledged by your receptionist.
