We recently had laminate flooring installed throughout our entire home. Unfortunately, our…read moreexperience has been disappointing, primarily due to persistent noise issues. Walking across many areas of the floor produces noticeable sounds, which detract from the comfort of our living space. When we brought this concern to the installer's attention, they dismissed it as "normal." This response left us feeling as though our concerns were not taken seriously, and we are now left with a problem that affects our everyday life. What We Liked * The sales representative at the Danville showroom was very helpful when it came to choosing flooring samples. Their assistance made the selection process easier. * Although the cost was higher than other estimates we received, we chose this company because their measurement process was thorough and detailed. Major Drawbacks * There is consistent noise whenever we walk across the floor in many areas of the house, and the issue has not improved over time. * While the installation was completed, we felt that our concerns were not addressed adequately afterward. * The installer insisted that the noise was "normal" rather than providing a clear solution or inspection plan * When we brought up the noise issue, the installer attempted to fix it by adding more nails to the stairs and applying a solution provided by the manufacturer, but these efforts did not resolve the problem. Later, Brian, the owner of the company, visited our home. He did not introduce himself at the time, and after walking the stairs, he claimed the noise was caused by his ankle. After inspecting the house, he concluded that the noise was "normal" for floating floors and said there was nothing further he could do. * Even though they removed the samples from the showroom and stopped selling the brand installed in our home due to other customer complaints, they still refused to address our ongoing problem. Because the walking noise is so noticeable and our concerns were dismissed as "normal," we cannot recommend this installer. Brand/Color: Aquaproof XL laminate flooring manufactured by AquaProof Floors, part of HF Design LLC. Installed: October 2025.

Value was there, and everyone we dealt with seemed authentic, relaxed, with no "sales pitch" and no "artificial" tone. Their installers came out and did a wonderful, professional job. We couldn't be happier with the end result. I deal with a lot of home improvement vendors throughout the Bay Area because of my line of work. I'm keeping Diablo Flooring at the top of my flooring list.

Jonathan was an incredible person and super nice - really personable and his wife was also the most responsive person ever - always quick to answer questions and provide the quote/invoice right away as promised. I hired them to finish up flooring since I had some injuries and couldn't finish up the work and their quality and speed was phenomenal. I have an eye for attention to detail and their crew was above and beyond in how they did the flooring, going the extra mile for things that normally would be a quick shortcut for contractors hoping the customer would miss it but they didn't take any shortcuts. They were reasonably priced - not the highest or the lowest quote but Jonathan was what sold us on the work and we're more than happy to have gone with him and have recommended him to other neighbors. There's a reason why they are so backed up with work! They're popular for a good reason. They're finishing up the work today and the guys are respectful, clean up after themselves and super nice to chat with. Definitely would recommend Jonathan and his crew to anyone looking to have the best flooring done the right way. Just like their slogan says!

It was installed when we built the house and had not been refinished in 35 years. It was badly marked up from hospice care wheelchair and hospital bed marks. The original natural Bona finish coats were worn through to the wood in high use areas, and there was a lot of water damage in the kitchen from leaks over the years. It was time to repair damaged boards, sand down to the wood, and refinish. After getting several bids we decided to go with Hardwood Floors by Jonathan Gayer, (925) 235-1222, 2033 Belford Dr, Walnut Creek, CA. Jonathan did the work while we were out of town on a trip. Upon returning we were absolutely delighted to see flooring throughout the whole first floor that looked as good or better than the original installation 35 years ago. Jonathan and his wife Eva (who handles the business side) were a pleasure to work with and very trustworthy. The work got done just when they said, and their price was a fair one.

The Finishing Touch - They even replaced my old floor vent and put a wood one to blend in with the floors. Very detailed

We gave Mike an idea of what we were looking for and he delivered. We did our due diligence by getting another bid, but our decision to go with The Finishing Touch was not based on price alone. It was a father and his two sons, and they were very punctual, professional, and honestly just really hard workers. You can immediately tell they're a good family who takes a lot of pride in what they do. They were extra helpful from start to finish....they helped us move furniture, explained everything clearly, and truly went the extra mile to make sure we were comfortable with the whole process. I originally wanted my front living room done now, but because it's the holidays, I asked if we could wait to do the rest of the rooms afterward. They understood completely without any issues, and we already have everything scheduled for the next rooms after the first is finished. If you're looking for a reliable, family-run business that shows up on time, works hard, and treats your home with respect, I highly recommend The Finishing Touch. We're very happy with the work and with the whole experience.

Carlos was easy to work with and guided us every step of the way. Communication was clear throughout the entire process, and there were no surprises. The best part of the experience was the install and the install team. Manny and his crew absolutely crushed it. We had an issue with an unlevel floor, and they took the time to add self-leveling compound to fix the problem the right way. We also have a ridiculous amount of stairs -- 34 total -- that were previously covered in carpet, and they now look amazing. Manny and his team were excellent from start to finish. Highly recommend.

When I needed a more expensive kind the next week, I worked with a different employee who got me a better price than the ones I originally bought. I appreciated the "deal" but did not like how the discount was applied in one instance and not the other. This was during the anniversary sale, so most things were on sale. Lead time for my tile was quoted as 5-7 days. It took 2 weeks. The worst part was that the tile that I waited 2 weeks for was the wrong kind as the floor store/manufacturer messed up the order. The floor store got the manufacturer to rush the correct tile in a couple days...really wished they had the same hustle when I first put in my order. I ended up having to pay more for my contractor's time because the floor store took too long. If you are already working with an installer, I'd check with them to see if they can source materials. The price will certainly be much more competitive. I don't think I'd go through the trouble with the floor store again.

The first was about ten years ago for another portion of our house, and once again they did an outstanding job. They were helpful in selecting a flooring pattern that matched our previously installed floors, and the estimating and scheduling process was straightforward and easy. The installation crew paid close attention to detail, and you can tell from the work around corners, transitions, and trim that they take pride in their craftsmanship and quality. We also appreciated how transparent they were regarding areas where our subfloor was uneven (which we knew would be a problem going into the job). They assessed the condition, explained the available options, and then corrected the subfloor so the planks could be installed the right way. Having a section of our hallway flat when it's been uneven for years has been a great bonus. It's reassuring to know a company like this exists in Concord. Fleury's is the only place I would use for flooring in the future.

Fast forward to present day and time to replace 30yr old original carpeting upstairs. Because our prior experience with Fleury's went so well, naturally we returned to them for phase 2. I started with Chris at the store to present the project and he made suggestions for makers and brands to best match the Brazilian Cherry we had downstairs. Patrick was up next with onsite inspection, measurements, and bringing over samples. A complementary (and upgraded) product was chosen and install timeline was set. Javier and Kiko were next on the scene and took only 5 days to demo carpet, prep and level subfloor, and install flooring and baseboards in 4 bedrooms and a hallway. Patrick came by a couple times to check on progress and made a great suggestion to add additional underlayment. That - combined with their tried and proven method of gluing and nailing down the floor - made for the most solid-feeling hardware floor installation I've ever encountered. I'm a pretty picky customer, so when I tell you their craftsmanship, attention to detail, and finish skills are top notch - believe it. Prices and labor these days are pretty much standard all around. But if you receive this level of workmanship and flawless results, you sleep better knowing you made the right decision. Can't say enough about my experience with Fleury's. 10/10
