Decided to give them another try since i saw notices that they added Fish Fridays (Lent) and fresh pasta options. Wife and i went and she ordered "fish & chips" and I ordered the fish tacos. My order came out and was a frozen fish patty cut in thirds and thrown in taco shells that they did not even fill half of. Wife's fish & chips were literally two dry, flavorless fish filets and flavorless potato chips. Somehow this place is owned by an Irish named pub and doesn't understand that the chips in fish & chips are fries. Will not be a third visit. Great pizza, contender for the best in Central PA. Doesn't quite match NY or CT pizza, but if you're in central PA, it's certainly one of your best options. Good quality ingredients, friendly employees, and fair prices. Also a nice restaurant setting if you choose to dine in, as they have good options other than pizza. The grandmas is probably their most flavorful pie, and the ricotta on the wassup white is also very good. The plain and margarita pies were just average to me. read more

We finally tried this place. I had been looking forward to for quite awhile. We got the Big Poppa and onion rings. We debated the gigi and the OG as well which both sounded good. The pizza was good. I would've liked a little more sauce and next time I would probably ask for it. They gave a military discount, which I don't expect but always appreciate. The workers were nice. It closed at 8 rather than 9 but with COVID ongoing it is always better to call places now. It was clean and has outdoor seating. To me Home Slice is very convenient and the pizza is great. Aldo and his family/staff provides excellent service. A great place to eat!

The pizza place looks warm and cozy and the pizzas look inviting and delicious. However, the pizzas themselves are quite bland, unflavorful, and dry. We got the Wowie Mauie and the Big Poppa and they both needs more sauce. They are just dry. Considering their price tag, I expected a little bit more from them. I do want to support the local business but sadly i won't come back to this. There are other local pizza places with more reasonable price and better pies. read more

Loved Home Slice! There's street parking in the front and a big lot in the back. Inside is modern, clean and very welcoming. The aroma inside of fresh baked pizza was inviting. I walked in before the lunch crowd starting coming in. There were constant walk-ins. Most of them were for take-out, but enough people eating-in that all tables got full. This was on a Monday, a weekday. I got a slice of white pizza and my friend got a Gigi's. Both were excellent. The crust is crispy and perfect. All the ingredients tasted fresh and good quality. The staff was super nice. They didn't have printed menu to take out, but the girl at the counter said that full menu is available online. read more

Loved it!! The dough is hand made, and has a nice crispy crust. I love the sauce he uses and like that he put plenty of it on. Best part was the cheese though, super high quality obviously! The service is good, they've only been open a few weeks so it's definitely possible it could take some time if they get busy. The wings were excellent. Very crispy wings, just how I like em. The mango habanero sauce is awesome and Dawson told me he uses fresh ingredients to make that sauce. Also - it was nice to have a few options from Flinchys. The chili is out of this world. It's located right after you enter the main entrance for the Walden Shops. Really nicely designed, very nice bathrooms. We've ordered from here two times. Both times were carryout. The restaraunt is small but very well done. Cool artwork and all cohesive with the home slice theme. Would be fun to eat at during a slower time but I imagine it gets full quickly. We've tried the OG cheese pizza and the Gigi grandma style pizza. One time we got the white pizza as well. The OG I would give a 4/5. The sauce is good, the flour that they use is high quality as well. The Gigi was a 4.5 and the favorite that we've tried. The crust isn't deep dish but is baked longer and is a little thicker than the OG. The white pizza we got was not very good - I don't like white pizza to begin with but the people at our party who tried it said it wasn't great so I'd say 2/5. We are always happy to support a local pizza shop and will be back to try some of the other offerings again. Next up on my list is the wings! read more

Holy moly, Home Slice! I am so glad I got to this place. I went early on a Sunday evening, during Covid-19. There Corona precautions were appreciated, and the service was great - accurate estimate of wait time, kind, well packaged. We ordered the banging burrata (4, loved the thin breading and gooey balsamic, but they got very soggy), philly philly boli (5, stuffed and the peppers and onions were sauteed perfectly), a Buffalo chicken boli (5, amazing blue cheese), and one of each cookie (5+, the cookies are huge, soft, and the reese's peanut butter cup was loaded and amazing). The bill was on the expensive side ($39 bucks for that), but worth it in my opinion since all the portions were so big. I'll definitely be going back and I recommend it read more

Any other time we've been here everything had been great. My favorite thing there is the Burrata, but tonight it was served cold. The drinks were warm and apparently there was no ice for a cup because the ice machine was broken. The two older people working there answered questions very abruptly, almost rude. The younger girl was on her phone leaning on her elbows and then blew her nose and didn't wash her hands. The younger guy was polite when greeting people walking in. Don't worry so much about your gimmicks and shtick (no one really cares) and focus on your food quality. 3. Watch you tube videos on pizza making. They will be helpful. 4. Taste your sauces and your food when you make it. If it's inedible to you, you probably shouldn't serve it to customers. 5. I picked up food from here last night. This review is only based on what we had. I would definitely go back and try different things. We got the OG (plain). I didn't care for the sauce. They present their menu to be "cool" and "hip" and "new" but the same stuff is just as good anywhere else. I grew up in NJ with real NY style pizza. Very good! I had 2 slices of cheese pizza and couldn't finish them because they were so big. My husband had a cheese steak and our son wanted pepperoni pizza. Very disappointed with our pizza . We've gotten the same Wowie Maui pizza at least 1/2 dozen times before and until today it's always been 5*. Today it was dried out, overdone and the crust was burned. Also, the toppings of ham and pineapple were almost too tiny to see. I'm wondering if there is new management? my sister lives in Walden and we have eaten here a few times. typically we come in and spend good money. yesterday was no different, slices are $5 and we ultimately spent $70 on pizza, spaghetti and water (not bottled). I find the staff to be unfriendly. the restaurant was empty but they have a policy that you can't buy a 2 liter soda (family size) if u want to sit in the place. since we had a family it would have made sense to buy the 2 liter. the owner exclaimed from the back that he needs to make money!! so we couldn't by the soda???? so we ask if they had ice water. they said yes but actually had no ice. the service has always been subpar so this time I won't be back read more

Just recently came back from the shore, stone harbor. went to macks pizza down there and the pizza was terrible..........air bubbles on dough, almost no cheese on top and the edges where about 1 inch wide. Read the reviews and I thought this was a perfect local place to try out! Trying to order online was a hassle; I wanted delivery as they advertised and could not find the option online. When I called to place an order, the women on the phone had a rude attitude, I didn't not want to place an order after talking to her. Probably better for take-out. Stopped by for lunch. Ordered at 12:15 our food for 2 arrived at our table 1:20. No ice that day, their machine was broke -not the end of the world. Food was good. GREAT place for kids though, lots of little ones everywhere watching videos on their tablets, watching the TV's on the walls, and playing video games on tablets. The children had a fabulous time- the noise level can become loud but the kids do not mind the noise at all! Due to location, we will probably try again but only for take-out.
