Swung by here after an event nearby, which was around 8:15p on a Friday evening. There was a good crowd and the parking lot was full. I was just fortunate enough to be able to slide into the 15-minute to-go parking against the side of the patio (2 of these spots only). We were told they weren't making anymore of the first special that we wanted to order, which was disappointing since it was still pretty early into the night. The pepperoni/jalapeno and margherita slices that we got were tasty, and pretty spot on when compared to the Austin location. The crust was crispy (and a bit on the salty side) and thin, and there were a good amount of toppings. Unfortunately, there was only one sad pepper on my special slice. Pizza came out within 5 minutes, so we were actually able to sit down in the patio and chow down before my parking time ran out. This place is super casual and we had some other folks join the other side of our table. The decor is interesting and somewhat random, which creates a very unique vibe. You have it to be there to understand what I'm talking about. All in all, it's a great slice and if I'm ever back on this side of town, I would chance the parking situation for a "home slice". read more

Love me some by the slice ordering options. Tried a slice of the white pie spinach and mushroom $4.75, diet Mexican Cola $3.50, and an order of garlic knots with marinara $5.50. Single slice is essentially two slices in size in my option with big chunks of mushroom and large blobs of ricotta, not overly greasy. Great for folding and eating! The garlic knots were great in texture but left me wanting more garlic flavor. I'd get them again and probably request more garlic seasoning be added if they allowed that. Indoor seating is minimal; two 4 person booths, three 2 seaters and a few barstool counter top combos. Outdoor seating is probably where it's at with eclectic tables and chairs (hand sculpture like chairs), but I can see Texas heat making this a less desired area. Parking is also minimal the lot I think holds maybe 8 cars on a good day (this being people parking according to lines) and there are pick up signs next to the outdoor seating wall to try to keep people from occupying those spaces. Overall I'd give this place a go for a lunch spot or pick up a to go pie! Service was quick, cool, and friendly providing refills without having to leave your chair. read more

Really glad there is a home slice location in Houston now! But I thought that the pizza at this location was ok and the quality isn't as good as the Austin location. Maybe they don't get enough foot traffic for the slices, so they sit out a lot longer? Therefore compromising the quality? I ordered a slice of the eggplant, Margherita, and pepperoni with cherry peppers. After they heated up the slices, the crusts were rock hard. And the pizza itself just tasted old. We ended up throwing those crusts away to avoid breaking a tooth. I had those slices and just remembered feeling underwhelmed. Maybe next time, I'd have to order an entire pizza to make sure it's got the same quality? I will say this location has a good amount of seating, but the parking lot is small. read more

Try the spinach calzone! The crust is wonderfully thin and crispy here, and the cheese is just right - not too salty or oowy gooey chewy. Favorite part was the marinara, with its rich tones of garlic, an excellent topper for the calzone. Skip the tiramisu. It's fluffy and beautiful, but perhaps too many lady fingers and not enough flavor... Next time I'll get the cheesecake for dessert instead. The customer service here is great. I really loved the low lighting and decor, like I think the highlight of this place is definitely how aesthetically pleasing the restaurant is. Even the bathroom was decorated beautifully. The pizza, however, was very mediocre to me. I got a slice of the meatball pizza and was very underwhelmed by it. I recently placed a to-go order from Home Slice. I've actually not been to Home Slice, but have heard plenty about it. I'm happy to say, it delivered! It also delivered. If you're looking for a nice thin crust that isn't the cracker crust of Capone's, Home Slice has it covered. I can't think of a better thin crust around. Meanwhile, the red sauce brought bold flavors and seasoning. As a pepperoni fan, well, you be the judge. This pizza was also ginormous, even at the medium size. I had never had the chance to eat at this place before, even though we visit Holy Rosary a lot. After a volunteer stint at the church, we went to check it out. To me it was always the building with Lionel Richie on the wall. If you remember he use to be dressed as "Where's Waldo," but they updated him recently. Because it's midtown parking is atrocious. On to the food. I don't think I've ever had authentic NY style pizza. To me, thin crust just sounds like something people pretending to be skinny eat. However, these thin NY style pizza slice had enough flavor in the crust, without being as crisp as a cracker. The toppings were packed with tastiness. And the portion sizes...like you really felt guilty eating 2 - 3 slices, because the slices are that big. Their menu was interesting, because it had so many veggie options - not sure if that was intentional or not, but I liked knowing they existed. As I was with my husband we compromised for the sausage and mushroom pizza. What's interesting about this simple pizza is that it tasted as if though, this was the first mushroom and sausage pizza ever made. It was absolutely delicious. Not sure how it pulled that off. The to go order was generous with things like parmesan cheese, oregano, red pepper flakes. I definitely noted that the red pepper flakes were extra spicy - which I liked and the parmesan cut out some of the heat. The oregano added an extra flavor element. I was happy with the extra spicy red pepper flakes, as I hadn't had some spicy ones since the old days of pizza hut where they had unlimited pizza. I'm definitely coming back to try out the veggie options. I'm just sad it took me this long to try this place out. read more

It was a nice day for the patio in Houston... Cool breeze and drier than normal. I have heard so many verbal reviews for this place so I decided to give it a try. I ordered a slice of pepperoni (crispy crust, tasty) and a Sicilian Pepperoni (the crust was fluffy and airy but crispy on the bottom). Saturday lunch is not crazy but parking is a challenge because the lot is small but there is parking on the surrounding streets. Service was nice and friendly. This place lives up to the hype! I love the window on the outside designated for people ordering slices instead of whole pies. That's so convenient! My brother and I got four slices which came out to just over $20. I've never had a white pie before, much less with broccoli, but this was so good. I love that these pies are thin but don't droop over. There's a crunch with each bite and it's just music to my ears. The Sicilian was tasty as well. I liked that neither of our slices were greasy. The main seating area is outside while inside only has two large booths and two two-seated booths. Parking in the lot is limited so street parking is your best bet. Stumbled in for their soft opening for Friends & Family this evening after Winnie's. Couple draft choices which is great. Van and Carlo took care of us. There was a small hiccup which of course since it was a friends and family night. This will for sure when fully open be out spot. As my friend put it as you rarely get good pizza and salad. The Caesar had a nice little kick. The pear was awesome and fresh also. Both well worth it. Each came with a garlic knot. The mushroom and pepperoni pizza was very good. I don't like mushrooms but got it because my friends. Very plentiful in the toppings. The spinach pizza needed a bit extra. I really liked it though. The crust had the perfect crispness too it. I always loved stopping at Home Slice in Austin for a slice of NY pizza so I needed to try it in Houston! We got the Medium Margarita Pizza & a slice of White Pie. The Margarita pizza was a bit on the salty/greasy side which was a bit of a let down. The service is great! Everyone is willing to help and the servers are on their game. There is indoor seating great for date nights and outdoor seating as well. The parking is a little tough. Friendly staff, music was blaring H-Town classics, and among specialty pizzas I knew Home Slice has this unique Clam pizza that you couldn't get anywhere else. Had to try it. Recently dined at Homeslice, and I must say, I was impressed! The food was delicious, with a wide variety of pizza options to choose from. We ordered 3 large pizzas: White Clam, Sausage, Ricotta Cheese, and Roasted Red Peppers and Margherita. Plenty of food for 8 people, with 2-3 slices leftover, lol. White Clam was by far our favorite. Second runner up was the Ricotta Cheese Pizza and then Margherita. Pizza is thin crust, and I typically prefer thick/doughy crust, but honestly it was not bad! What really stood out to me was the quick service. Despite it being a busy evening, the staff worked efficiently to ensure that our orders were taken promptly and our food arrived at the table in no time (about 15 minutes of waiting). It's always a plus when you don't have to wait too long for your meal! I found the prices at Homeslice to be reasonable, especially considering the quality and portion sizes of the pizzas. Side note: Parking can be a pain on a Friday night, even though we were able to snag a space when we got there. Our friends had to drive around a little bit for parking. We were able to order garlic knots and a pizza with fast service! We even ordered a second! Food: We got the pepperoni pizza with mushrooms and garlic knots at first. They were pretty good! We are the garlic knots in seconds and then our pizza came after. The pizza was actually perfect. Unlike when I had it in Austin, the pizza was thinner and nice and light. It also was not burnt like the one I had in Austin. For the second round, we got the white pizza. This one was okay, I wish that the ricotta cheese had some sore of flavoring or seasoning. The texture was fine, but it just kinda tasted like nothing. Overall, good experience. The pizzas are a bit pricey, but you pay for the food quality in flavors! Stopped in for a slice after happy hour nearby. My first thought, parking is a nightmare. The parking lot is small and people that can't find a spot were just randomly parked wherever. The outdoor seating has cute decor too! Parking is limited and a bit hard to maneuver around. Pizza options are a lot! It's great that they have a window that you can come up to for the slice too. I really enjoyed the crust: it had a nice crisp and held the toppings together nicely. The toppings were okay and didn't have much flavor. Their fresh pies and sandwiches looked delicious though so I may need to come back to try those. There's limited parking in the lot, but there's street parking available along the side of the restaurant. Home Slice mostly has outdoor seating.
