Pending totally no greeting on a Mother's Day Brunch over 1 hour and a half wait before getting food which came out lukewarm and burnt even eggs half cooked pancakes no utensils had to ask for spoons to stir coffee I had to sent 3 of the 5 orders back without even eating more than a fork full.The most disgusting presentation of food Waitress was horrible with an attitude I requested to speaker to the manager reply too busy 4 families walkout no complimentary bread basket or something to tide you over even the babies were crying .I asked for the Chef to come to my table to explain why the pancakes were raw on the top and burnt on the bottom I c kept waiting for better service or apologize for why the delay. Oh not to forgot the first thing that was bad a very high step leading into the restaurant that had a ramp that made you think that is was handicapped accessible I had complain about the uneven balance of the tables and chairs that looked like throw away very old and not sturdy. I visited for Easter Sunday brunch and left with mixed feelings. The "heart" of the house is doing everything right: the food was delicious, the portions were generous, and the presentation was beautiful. If I were rating on the meal alone, this would be an impeccable experience. Unfortunately, the service simply didn't match the quality of the kitchen. The Service: Despite having a reservation and the restaurant not appearing over-capacity, the experience started on a strange note with a "Reserved" sign written in pen on a scrap of torn paper. We then waited nearly 10 minutes for our server to acknowledge us. When she did arrive, her demeanor was "prickly" at best. She seemed as though work was the last place she wanted to be, a sentiment so obvious that even the child in our party pointed out that she never smiled. After taking our full order and repeating it back, she returned to inform us they were out of most of those items. While we adapted, the lack of basic hospitality--no "please," "thank you," or "can I get you anything else"--made the meal feel like an imposition. Simple requests for butter or extra napkins felt like a burden to her. The Verdict: The food is the saving grace here, but one bad apple truly spoiled the b(r)unch. My group are all customary tippers, but due to the level of service, we stayed strictly with the added gratuity this time. I would definitely return with the hope that the service isn't indicative of what's to be expected from such a good restaurant. I really like the ambiance, the music and the artwork are beautiful. The food was great, the chicken sausage was perfection. There seemed to be a delay with the kitchen though, cause the food took a while to come out. The service needs improvement. Our server was friendly and tried their best, but there was a clear issue with training. It was clear that there wasn't a manager around to make sure things were running smoothly, and issues could have been handled better. Also there is a 7% service fee that wasn't disclosed on neither the website or Menu, but we found out when we got our check. If service fees are to be added, that should be known before getting the check. A cute cozy spot in west Harlem, the food was tasty, but the service was terrible. First, they didn't have any menus or a QR code and the server didn't tell me until they came to take my order and I asked for the menu. So I had to pull up the website menu myself (not a big deal, but would've been nice to know right when I sat down). Then, when I was ready to order the server let me know they had a catering order they were trying to finish and weren't completing restaurant orders until that was done. Expected 10-20 min wait. I said ok and asked if they could bring me some toast (easy enough to get out in the middle of a big order) as I was in the verge of hangry. Toast never came, but it showed up on my check later. The food eventually came, but I still did not have my coffee and there was no whipped cream or syrup for my pancakes. The server did bring my coffee upon asking when the food was dropped and they brought syrup but informed me they didn't have whipped cream (ok, but again would've been nice to know when I ordered). They did come around to ask how everything was pretty quickly after bringing the food, but that was the last I really saw of them at my table the whole time I was there. When I finished eating, I waited almost 10 minutes to ask for a box, check, and to go cup for my coffee (it was too hot to drink, so I barely had any of it). The box and cup never came, and the check came but it was the wrong one. When she brought the correct one, the toast I ordered and never got was on there. I waited for her to come back to adjust but didn't wait long bc at that point I was tired of waiting so I went up to the counter. She gave a $5 discount (for the cost of the toast), but did not remove the toast from the ticket, so I'm pretty sure I still paid sales tax on it. And there was a 9% service charge that was not disclosed ahead of time. I have no idea what it was for. I'm disappointed bc it's a cute spot and the food was good, plus it's walking distance from my new place, but I doubt I'll be back with service that terrible. read more

I was very disappointed with this establishment. I chose and recommended this restaurant to my girlfriends based on its review. 1st we walked in and was told we would have to wait 30mins because we didn't have a reservation even though there was seating available. So we put a reservation in and took the 1st availability of 1230pm, mind you it was 12:27 when we booked it. They sat us down and it was downhill from there. They took our order @1pm. Some of the things they were out of and we had to constantly go to the bar to get things that the waiter should had brought us. No one checked on us if we we're good or needed anything. It wasn't until some other people sat down after us and recieved their food before us that it became a problem. After we threatened to leave did they rush (and I mean rush) to bring out our food 1 plate at a time poorly plated. The Chef aka owner aka manager never once apologized. Even after she came out of the kitchen never approour table. They gave us a 20% after we sent the bill back to ask for the discount. My fritatta was over cooked but good so was the potato yams n salmon croquet but the poor treatment took away the enjoyment. As a person who works in the food industry my recommendations to this owner if she want to keep receiving any good reviews practice on communication. Your staff should communicate with each other more, more training how to attend to their customers so the "we" dont feel neglected. It should not had taken 2.5hrs to receive our food when the place was not crowded. Or maybe higher a sous chef or a helper to plate the food while the owner cooks it. Going to send a few of my friends in the food serving industry to check it out themselves and perhaps can drop a little knowledge on the wait staff maybe that will help them get more organized. This place was very empty and it did not fill up at all by the time we were leaving. The food is a 3/5; it wasn't bad but also not spectacular. My friend got the chicken and waffles light brunch, which came with a free coffee anyway. ***Of note: my friend said they likely had their liquor license revoked because they used to be known for their boozy brunch but when we went, they had no drink menu, and when my friend tried to request a spiked drink, the waiter responded they are not allowed to serve alcohol at the moment. Cleanliness is a 1/5. The mug I got for my tea was dirty. There was a black spec at the bottom of the mug as well as a brown ring, presumably from the previous cup of coffee or tea. Service is a 3/5. Although the place was pretty empty when I arrived, I had to wait a little bit before someone came up to seat me. Once my friend and I were seated, we had a waitress come up to us 3 times within a few minutes requesting our orders. That was the only time the wait staff was attentive. The chicken and waffles didn't come with syrup, and we had to wait quite a bit to even see a waiter to flag down to request syrup. Iight so boom. I was looking for a real homely restaurant to celebrate Fathers Day. My father and my grandmothers like authentic, homemade cooking. I had a reservation for a party of 5, which accommodated myself, my mother, father and two grandmothers (80 and 88 years old). Upon arrival a staff member asked if outdoor seating would be okay for us as it was currently all they had available. I normally don't mind outdoor seating especially when the weather was as beautiful as it was. But my grandmothers prefer A/C and comfortable indoor seating. However, as all the tables were full we would've had to wait 30-40 minutes for an indoor table to be full. Well guess what, not no more! As soon as I expressed my grandmothers wishes they quickly worked together to arrange for seating inside the restaurant. A restaurant and staff members that truly care about the comfort and safety of their patrons is an establishment I can respect. Now onto the food. When I tell you this food is made FRESH. Like, when we sat down our server Jen asked for patience as they just made a fresh batch of pancake mix and biscuit dough. Like hello?!! FRESH PEOPLE! The sangria? Made freshhhhh! The Bellini...FRESH PEACH PURÉE! Honestly it's so scarce to find restaurants in the city with good old southern, authentic, comfort food. Man oh man. We ordered some biscuits for the table and they were flaky, buttery, cheddary, and just delicious. We opted for the full brunch which is $24 per person and includes your entree (which is already stacked) and your selection of: Turkey Bacon, Turkey Sausage, or fresh Salmon Cake AND choose a Mimosa, Bellini, Michelada or Fresh Squeezed Orange or Mango Juice, too!! Like my goodness! The menu is everything you can imagine. Shrimp or fish and grits, pancakes, challah French toast, eggs, potatoes liiiikkkeee. Again. Fresh. And let me tell you about the fresh. This place is so wonderfully underrated! I 100% recommend swinging by this place for brunch if you're in the Harlem area. It's family owned from what I can tell and the servers and managers are so sweet. They were also open on 4th of July which I appreciated since my friends and I were hungry and lurking. I will say, I was a little shocked at how pricey this place was. Everything on the menu had a range of $15-20, which isn't crazy for New York, but the bottomless mimosas were $24 which was a little steep.
