    Beets salad
    DeVora A.

Was here again last night to celebrate a friends bday. Service was a bit slow but the food definitely made up for it. It was well worth the wait. My friend had a special bday menu. I ordered the beets salad as my appetizer and the seafood risotto for my entrée. As I said previously, it was well worth the wait. Food was really really good.

I came here for my bday. Was so happy to be in Harlem again. This place was sort of walking distance from the train about 2-3 block walk. I sat outside in the patio area and they had a DJ come and play some great beats. I selected the $50 lunch deal which came with bottomless mimosas for $50. Keep in mind this is NOT a shareable meal. I thought it was fair and reasonable. Also to note, they don't have tap water only bottled for $6 and it's a small one. The food smelled delish but was dry lol the mussels were definitely delicious. Chefs kiss. But I mean the rice and the fish was so dry. My partner had the chicken sandwich and it was so tough he didn't even eat it. Really went for the vibes at that point. lol would go again for the drinks but mot again for the food because it was no good.

Renaissance embodies the vibe of Harlem. The drinks were delicious. The flounder, jollof rice and plantains were cooked to perfection. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes to enjoy good music, food and hospitality.

Delicious food! Attended during brunch and didn't realize. It was epic. There was a lively crowd and a DJ playing the best throwback hits. I asked for the dinner menu and to be seated outside for a more intimate conversation with my friend. It was so gorgeous and sunny already, thanks to the warmer weather. I got Red Snapper and jollof rice with plantains, amazing. Cleaned my plate. We also got dumplings as an appetizer and omg it came with the most delicious hot sauce so I kept it to eat with my entree as well. Lovely menu, lots to enjoy.

I could eat here every night. The food is consistently delicious no matter what you order. The staff is super attentive and provides service with a smile. The chef should have a Michelin star by now. Great food and pleasant vibes make for a wonderful restaurant.

This place has a nostalgic feel -- from the decor to the colors and layout, you can tell there's been real effort to make it comfortable and inviting. We came as a group of 12, and it seemed like the staff may have been a bit overwhelmed. Food and drinks took a while to arrive, but were friendly and helpful nonetheless. The food was hearty -- I ended up taking some home. I played it safe with my order since the menu was new to me. The flavors were decent, kinda monotoned- no layers or heights of the senses. A live DJ added a nice touch, playing what we like and taking requests. This is another "I came, I saw..." kind of spot. I don't see myself feeling the urge to return.

Renaissance Harlem is a vibe and food is great ! Food: the food is amazing omg! The curry mussels, baked chicken, grilled cod fish, and the chicken dumplings were amazing. The food is prepared in real time preserve the authentic tastes. Service: the service was amazing. Everyone was very attentive, provide clear insight of the various food items, provided refills, and had a great personality that is relatable. Ambiance: the location is capable of intimate setting but also provide spacing for large groups. The location is updated and very clean. Overall score is 4.9/5

My Grown & Sexy Ladies chose to have our Secret Santa at the Renaissance Harlem Restaurant. I must say our hosts Gziz and Corbyn took care of us like we were family. We had a great time eating and drinking. I had The Pan Seared flounder, Jollof Rice and Sauteed Spinach, Tish had the Grilled Codfish, Mashed Potatoes, spinach in Bearnaise Sauce and Diane had the Steakhash, Scrambled Egg & Hollandaise Sauce. The food was excellent and seasoned very well. They had this hot sauce that was saucinggg. The sangria was good with the extra gria our gurl was putting. The music was on point and the vibe was vibing. I recommend Renaissance Harlem for a brunch, lunch dinner and a gurlz day out.... We will definitely be back there

Walked in on a cold Saturday night around 11pm. The place was empty only two other patrons at the bar. They looked as if the waiter/bartender made sure they were having a good time (with nice strong drinks of course) & the music was GOOD! We were seated immediately with the very attentive waiter/bartender. Ordered drinks and food. Drinks were very good. Good came out rather quickly. Everything tased amazing. My friend raved about being happy we chose this location to eat for the night. (It was also bookmarked on my Yelp profile. I'm glad to have knocked it off the lists) I had the Salmon with mini vegetables. My friend had a steak. We also ordered sides that were great. We tried escargot for the first time. As per my video, it's not my thing. Ha!! I couldn't not stomach it. But I'm sure if you're into it, it's great because my friend ate it all. Would definitely visit again everything was great!

This restaurant has incredible food and impeccable vibes. We ate here three times over the course of four days! The menu has just enough variety to keep it interesting but not an overwhelming amount of dishes. Their food always comes out hot, and tastes incredibly fresh. Their drinks are incredible and they have great deals on martinis certain days of the week. Everyone at Renaissance are kind and attentive. They are personable and make sure you have such a good time. On Saturdays and Sundays they have a live dj!! If not live music, always a great playlist. Really incredible at hosting people and very inviting! I recommend the kale Cesar salad, carré d'agneau, braised short ribs, organic hanger steak and the shrimp scampi!! But literally anything you choose will be delicious! Also their cappuccinos and lava cake are great!

Snapper with Jollof rice . VERY good

Must say, the food and bottomless drinks here were great! Our waiter was very accommodating after having us wait over an hour for my $200 paid reservation to get enough space for 14 guests to sit together. I came for my birthday and had a great time! Minus the unavailability of seating for a large group. They had a dj and drinks flowing the whole time. It was a bit tight inside, but maybe when it's nicer out, it can feel more spacious with the outside seating! I'll def be back but with less people for sure! Highly recommend brunch here. Would def give 5 stars if it wasn't for the inconvenience.

Ginger Martini with vodka..Kettel one dirty martini..Grilled Whole Fish Branzino.. Pan Seared Flounder .. Jollof Rice.

Had an amazing time at brunch today. Got there a little early and was greeted warmly by staff. Decided to have a martini at the bar while waiting for the rest of party to arrive. The Kettel One Martini was perfect. We were a party of 5 and started with the calamari which was perfectly seasoned, fresh and crispy. I ordered the whole branzino which was wonderfully prepared, seasoned well which paired perfectly with the delicious joloff rice. The jollof rice is so flavorful here and will complement any dish you order. I tasted the seafood pasta ordered by my niece and it was delectable. Everyone was satisfied with their meal and I can see this place quickly becoming our favorite. Amazing food and drinks combined with superb service, what more can one ask for. These dishes are prepared with love.!

There's a camaraderie in the room that invites you to slow down, connect, and truly experience both the conversation and the food. Everything feels considered. My best friend and I each ordered the prix fixe menu, and it was a journey from start to finish. I began with the Spicy Corn & Coconut Soup--honestly, unforgettable. The crispy shallots added just the right amount of texture against the velvety base, and each spoonful layered flavor in a way that felt both comforting and elevated. For my main, I had the kichuri, and Chef Alex Guzman absolutely shines here. He is a star--full stop. There's a clarity and confidence in his cooking that you can taste. The cilantro chutney was perfection, and the way the mint lingers alongside the spice... it's the kind of balance that only comes from someone who truly understands their craft. You can feel his care in every bite. I ended with the key lime pie, and all I can say is thank you. The whipped cream was fresh and airy, the lime zest bright without overpowering, and the crust tied everything together beautifully. It felt like a thoughtful, intentional close to an already incredible meal. I highly recommend starting with the guava mocktail, then pairing your main with the fig mocktail--both are perfectly crafted and complement the dishes so well. Also, sit at the bar. It's a perfect date night spot to share deliciousness with a loved one. My friend and I shared three flavorful dishes-- a radicchio salad, the Confit Duck Leg and the Paccheri, a pasta with house- made pork sausage and broccoli rabe. The duck was so tender it fell off the bone. The pasta was intricate and tasted perfect when it was first served then veered a tad salty as it marinated (but still great). The salad was gorgeous on its own but even better accompanied by the mains. The duck was probably my favorite, but every bite complemented the next thing so well, that all of my senses were thoroughly engaged. I truly was having such a deep experience with the food that at one point I asked my friend to stop talking so that I could properly take in all the flavors. Oops. She loved the food too, so thankfully she understood. We topped off the meal with the buñuelos. We liked the sauce, but I'd say it's not memorable. My friend and I were looking for a place for dessert and drinks, so we stumbled into the Cordial. I ordered the prosecco, and we tried the chocolate fondue and a pear dessert. The bartender took our order; he told us that the chocolate fondue came with seasonal fruits, which he told us came with bananas, strawberries, and apples. When he gave us the desserts, the fruits on the plate were nothing, he told us. It had mango, apple, and figs (my friend is allergic to mango), so she was only able to eat only the 5 little apple pieces that were on the plate, and the figs were very mushy. The pear dessert was not so great. So I asked the bartender if he could exchange the pear dessert for more fruits for the chocolate fondue. Again, it was random different fruits; the second round of fruits was figs, oranges, and grapefruit. Cordial is small, so you can see the chefs cooking in the kitchen. With that being said, you can see one of the chefs washing dishes with gloves on and then proceeding to eat a mango with the same glove and then preparing the meals he cleaned dishes and ate with. It was so unsanitary. I just got disgusted and disappointed quickly after watching him. The sad part is that I and my friend were super happy to find a chill place to go and hang out near where we reside, but unfortunately I'm not sure I'll go back.

Read on if you desire genuine knowledge and only dine out with intention. First, and most importantly, shouts to Myles and the team working this day. The salmon in my Jerk Salmon Bowl and my friend's Atlantic Salmon Bowl was flaky, tender, juicy, and perfect. The rices (white with Jerk, black forbidden with Atlantic) confirmed and celebrated what Chef JJ Johnson wrote in his must-have book The History of Rice. This is to say there is no rice like FIELDTRIP rice: soft, sturdy, sweet, savory, herby, attaches to sauce and protein and vegetables when you want it to, remains on its own when you simply want to enjoy it by itself. The plantains and greens that accompany are ridonkulous icing on the salmon sundae. If you aren't a fan of Brussels sprouts, you likely have good reasons. And, you owe it to yourself to order Crispy Brussels. Besides being cooked so they are toothsome, textured, and still sweet, they're quartered or sixthed, which makes them easier to enjoy and perfect carriers for the crispy bits that top them. I love oxtail. To enjoy this rarely served beef element in a perfectly wrapped and fried egg roll added to my adoration. After bite one, I literally unwrapped my half to see how the shredded meat was coexisting. No saucing was necessary, though the Avocado Cilantro and New Jack Sticky BBQ (both of which were enjoyed by me via spoon) would have enhanced the roll most righteously. Lastly, when you dine in or take away from FIELDTRIP, you need Nana's Bread. It is what you might enjoy if a freshly made flour tortilla, naan, pita, and focaccia met, joined, and were put through a presser. I would dip and dredge Nana's Bread in everything. Your next meal needs to come from FIELDTRIP. Period.

The wait was about 10 minutes, and the music helped us pass the time. Our waiter was extremely hospitable, and made sure we had something refreshing to drink while we waited for our food. We ordered the coconut sweet potato soup and catfish over stewed black-eyed peas, and everything was absolutely DELICIOUS.

I've heard of Light House in Harlem plenty of times and finally got the chance to stop by…read more Before anything you must know. It's CASH Only. They went all out on the interior. It has a nice aquatic vibe all throughout the restaurant with different rooms to dine in. I started with the seafood platter. For $60, you get a whole tray full of crab legs, lobster, shrimp, mussels, clams, corn, and potatoes. I'm not a big seafood boil person but this one was valid. I enjoyed it. It was random but they also have popcorn but it was good so I'm not complaining. Then I ordered the popular honey garlic wings with the trifecta: Mac & cheese, candied yams, and collard greens. The wings were crispy and fresh. Plus the honey garlic sauce was really good. I understand the hype. I seen the lobster fries all over my feed so I ordered them. They use thick cut fries and the lobster on top is creamy. For my second platter I got Catfish with steamed cabbage and potato salad. You can tell they freshly fry the fish. Plus the batter is seasoned well. The cabbage lowkey has a kick which I liked and the potato salad has a subtle sweetness. I'm not mad at it though. Lastly I ordered the lobster Mac. Coated with a whole layer of cheese. You get lobster bits all throughout. Service was good. Lighthouse is definitely a solid spot whether you're taking out or dining in with a lot of options to choose from.

My husband and I went to the restaurant after seeing the IG hype, but this was the worst experience…read moreever! First, when you walk in, the front of the restaurant is takeout, and the actual restaurant is further in the back. Our plan was to sit in the actual restaurant and eat. As we went to the area to be seated, there was a sign that stated "Cash Only". When we asked the hostess, if they took credit cards for takeout, with an attitude she stated, "Yes, but you can't order takeout, and then try to sit in the restaurant and eat." It wasn't what she said, but the attitude in which she said it. And the sit in part of the restaurant was COMPLETELY empty! Therefore, we decided to get takeout, and this is when the experience went from mediocre to HORRIBLE. After ordering our food, which totaled to $105 and change (we ordered the stuffed lobster tail with two sides, the deep fried catfish with two sides, fish and chips, and two blue lemonades). There is a sign that stated that all fried food will be cooked first, due to steamed food taking a little longer. Therefore, we expected a wait of approximately 20 minutes. However, we waited for over 40 minutes, and during that wait time, we saw the cook line being unprofessional, laughing and joking, talking over the food, the bartender came to order catfish and was served before the waiting customers, garbage was being brought from the back through the waiting area which is beyond unsanitary (the Department of Health definitely needs to pay this establishment a visit)! We saw that our food was ready, but instead of the cashier letting us know, we literally had to ask for it due to the entire front line piss poor customer service. Once we got home to sit down to eat, the food was mediocre. The stuff lobster, wasn't stuffed, it was just topped with a mushy crab cake. The fish was fried a little too hard. The mac and cheese was on the dry side, but the candied yams and the blue lemonade was good. This place should be totally revamped, or completely shut down! Management definitely should have the staff to go through customer service training, because employees are the face of your establishment. Also, with the cash only policy, I wonder if ALL of the employees are working there legally, or being paid under the table. Which would explain why management doesn't have a problem with the piss poor attitude of the staff. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!
