Savers is one of those truly great places to find those vintage and unique items that you never thought you would see again. Savers opened about ten years ago in the South Bay. Since that time it has remained one of the best go-to spots for thrifting in the area. Of all the thrift shops in the South Bay, undoubtedly Savers never ceases to amaze. As can be expected, this thrift store offers all of the things you would expect to find: clothing, shoes, books, records, toys, kitchenware, electronic items, and pretty much everything else you can think of. Plus, they are constantly stocking new items, so every time you go in to this business you're guaranteed to see something new. I know a lot of people talk about the prices at this thrift store. For pretty much all of the items I find them to be very reasonable. In fact, you can truly find some one of a kind items for incredible prices. In terms of the clothing, yes, they are a bit high in their pricing compared to other thrift store chains. For some people, they may not want to spend $12.00 to $20.00 for say a used shirt. Though this is not always the case, a lot of their clothing is fairly expensive. This is just something to keep in mind if you haven't been here before. If you're going to be shopping for clothing at Savers, you've pretty much have got to expect to pay the top dollar for it in terms of the used market. This is a necessarily bad or good, and it isn't a criticism, it's just the way Savers operates. Overall, this is a truly good shop. I can't say enough about this place and the staff here are always super nice and friendly. Overall, it's one of my favorite places to thrift. You never know what you're going to find. Spent over an hour here, everything was SO expensive!! This is the only thing I bought! Their inventory is big, but prices are HUGE! Why if their stuff is donated! I love a thrift store with actual thrift store prices. Here in LA they'll charge $20 for a Target t-shirt at Goodwill. Like, I could buy it new for that price, what's the point? But Savers does the job and is worth the short drive south. My 15 year old son outgrew all of his summer clothes since last year, so he needed a whole new wardrobe. I brought in a bag of clothes to donate so we could get the 20% off coupon. Then picked up 6 pairs of shorts and 6 t-shirts, with the coupon we were out of there at $94. Can't beat it! read more

I really do love shopping here because I like finding unique items, but I'm getting more and more frustrated about the way things are being priced. They will sell things that are extremely broken for a ridiculous price and just now I took my tag off of one of my items I bought only to find that it was priced $3.69 at Salvation Army and they just put their tag over it for a higher price. And this is not an isolated event. I see this constantly! for example they sell dollar tree items for five plus dollars and it just isn't adding up. The good: This store was massive and had so many amazing finds. I could be here for hours. I didn't get as much time as I wanted to browse things. I liked how organized everything was. There were random toys prepackaged into bags. I saw Anpanman toys and pretty recent toys that my daughter currently has. I ended up getting 10 blue stemless wine glasses for $11 and a twin bedsheet with pillow case for $6 that had fun faces with different emotions on it. I loved how organized the bedsheet section was. I've never purchased bedsheets before at a thrift store because it's normally disorganized and hard to tell what the sheet looks like. Their board game section was huge. Their books were neat and easy to navigate. They didn't sell super old and gross shoes. I was also impressed by the organization of baby and kids clothes. The bad: Some items were a great deal while others were meh. Some of the toys could've been cleaner. The interesting: I saw a two Christmas trees for sale for $34.99. They still have a great selection of Halloween and Christmas stuff. This is the first thrift store I've ever seen with a self checkout. read more

Nice large and clean thrift store - have to search a bit and be willing to walk away empty handed sometimes, that's ok, that's part of the adventure. Staff is great, plenty of parking, easy access on the corner. I also love to use this location for my donations, they have a drive-up/drive-thru on the south side of the building which is great. You pull up and hop out and unload your donations into these yellow-green neon bins (or for furniture, etc. items just on the ground), ask for a receipt (which is a coupon to shop inside - so donate first, THEN go inside and shop!). There's a link on the coupon to go online and register your donation or I think the paper coupon works as a record you were there possibly. They also have a few helpers outside assisting people or if you need assistance I've seen them unload for people if you need help, don't hesitate to ask for it. Enjoy! read more

Here I am again, updating this review one more time. My thoughts on this place have dwindled throughout the months I came here and I think it's time to say I have had enough. This review isn't just about THIS specific savers, but also my experience with thrifting in Los Angeles as a whole. Which at this point, I think is safe to say that thrifting in this city is finally dead. Resellers have taken over every thrift store I've been to. Whether it would be a chain like Savers, or a family operated store, there is always some cranky old guy that ruins the fun for everyone, and these locations like savers are WELL aware of this. They use that as an excuse to increase prices to levels I've never seen before. It gets to a point where an item is priced in such a way that you might as well buy it brand new, or it is at times MORE expensive than if you were to buy it in online websites like eBay or Depop. Salvation Army and Goodwill take advantage of this by having their own auction websites where things of "high demand" go and get bid on by bidders. I wouldn't be surprised if Savers / Value Village or whatever has their own auction website in a year or so, and when that happens, I'm sure these locations are gonna be a huge shadow of what it once was; Shelves mostly empty, and random dirty grabage priced at $100 probably All and all, it seems like every thrift store in LA is like this now and it shows no signs of stopping. I go to these places to get a deal, not get something I could've just ordered online, but I guess it is what it is. Another hobby down the drain. Thanks guys! Come here to donate and hobby shop for fun usually. Their night time manager/assistant manager Terry and african American girl with the purple beanie tonight November 4th at 7:25pm are so disgustingly rude. I've been shopping here for years way longer than they've been working here. They took my cart away by the mirror by the shirt sleeve knits with my personal purse with my money in there as I was in the aisle of the dresses where the mirror is at. They didn't even ask me if it's my cart as they're supposed to ask first before they take the cart away. Those two are very unprofessional with their customer service. Last week, last time I was here, Terry was so rude as well forcing in telling me to go to the register with the girl working that particular register when I usually do self check outs. I kept my cool but was very upset with Terry for being so verbally forceful and disgustingly rude to me with his foul attitude. Just because he was annoyed at me and other shoppers that night, his attitude was unacceptable. Whoever hired him here to work needs to put him in a better customer service class. Don't ever talk to me or anyone of your customers so forcefully rude. We are not your pets and children. The disrespectful attitude abuse from him was huge. Never in my life have had anyone try to control others like that. Especially We shoppers are the ones that pay you. If you don't generally get laid and lash out to us customers like that, that's unacceptable. Treat us better with respect and kindness. Tonight, Terry and the purple beanie girl employee just didn't notice anything and I told them that's my cart. I kept telling them that's my cart, why are you taking it? Has my purse in there too. They ignored that fact and told me they didn't see me. If they were more attentive of their job, they would've definitely see me with my cart. Apparently, they were not attentive, didn't even look around, and didn't even ask first if that's anyone's cart. Even the girl Emily did her job well by being attentive the whole time.. she stood by the check out the whole time, saw me and looked at me back here. Even she noticed me. Check the cameras to see that this has been my cart the whole time while I'm shopping. Terry and purple beanie girl employee are a huge disgrace to this company. Employees should never ever give customers a hard time. That's a red flag. On a brighter positive note, I give 5 stars to Rueben who was amazing. He was ALWAYS very kind and professional the whole time from when I walked in to when I exit. Rueben truly knows the utmost importance of treating customers with respect, understanding, politeness, assistance, and compassion. Rueben is definitely the best here and deserves to be Assistant Manager or/and Manager. Rueben definitely has the greatest refreshing Manager personality. Everyone working here has been good so far except the two rotten employees mentioned above. Be better Savers, stop hiring rotten people like them two to work here. Train all your staff to never give valued customers (who spend hundreds to thousands here over the many years of shopping) to never give us a hard time. I've been getting back to thrifting regularly over the last few months and I've had savers on my list. I really loved the ones I frequented in Hawaii and was hoping for the same vibe. For starters, this place is MASSIVE! You need to come with alot of free time and a lot of patience. As other people have mentioned, a lot of the items aren't in the best condition and some of the prices aren't very reasonable for a thrift store. While I did find some cute things, I ended up leaving them behind for someone else. It's overwhelming to be completely honest. While the sections are organized, the place still feels very hectic. Parking was easy and I appreciate that they give you various charities but I'll be sticking to goodwill or smaller more intimate stores in the future. read more

Off the bat: I am impressed. I am a sucker for thrift stores and donation centers. Some are better than others, sure, but this one might just top all the ones I've previously been to. It is by far one of the bigger ones I've been to. Not only that, it is also the cleanest and most organized I've seen - especially for its size. Every item is stacked and placed so neatly. There was very little (practically NO) clutter. The clothing are all hung and lined up so neatly. All kitchen ware is neatly organized in their shelves. Toys and books are all placed nicely. I also saw a few staff members going around making decluttering and reorganizing. All the aisled are free and clear to walk through regardless of whether you're carrying a basket or not. I seriously can spend a WHOLE DAY HERE. Cashier was nice and friendly. He even gave us additional discounts on a few items just because. WHAT! TIP: Senior citizens get 30% off on Tuesdays. This is our go-to for making donations in the area. For some reason, Goodwill which is more well known, has really weird hours for donation drop-offs that's not the same as their store hours. We went to Goodwill the other day to drop off a bunch of new clothes and was told by the front staff to drop it around the back. We unloaded in the back and was waiting for the staff to come around, when after a while, a voice from inside the back door said they are closed. Super annoying. I shop at alotta different savers stores at least 4-5 of them I live near the Arcadia store and like to rake drive to the Lomita store. 10-14 years of like Savers store for sure. Wanted tonsay Lomita store in last 2 years especially, even though store is organized and lots to shop for in every department and clean and fun to look for stuff. I am noticing front register employees most of them have a agitated attitute and not very patient, mainly the girlsand women. Its not all of them but its most of them. The guys seem to be more patient. Ive been there diffeeent days and different times of the day and its been the same. I know its hard to work with the public as customers like to give staff hard times sometimes but overall there could be some better patience and help for the ladies.
