I had Home Visions install windows in one of my rental properties in 2011. After my last tenant moved out, I noticed there was some water damage near the bottom right corner of one of the windows. The paint had bubbled up and cracked and broken off in a few places. I called last week to see if that was covered under their warranty, and they scheduled an appointment with me at 8AM on Wednesday to check it out. They called back two days later and rescheduled the appointment... So today I left work early to drive down there, and waited through the entire two hour time-slot and they never showed up or called. I tried calling them, but their office was already closed for the day and it just went to voice-mail. I would never recommend or use a company again that doesn't respect my time. I had Home Visions come to repair my upstairs back porch roof late (Dec)2012. They used a contractor, young guy. He removed old material and laid new roofing material per insurance requirements. A little time later, it leaked. I called Home Visions and they sent the guy back. He was a nice young man, who caulked up where leaking could have occurred. Now, June 2014 during a really heavy rainy period, the back porch roof was leaking. I called Home Visions again to send someone and let me tell you, it was hell trying to get someone to come back, I called so many times, I've lost count. The project manager whom I almost always answered the phone, Nikko(spelling?), promised to send some, and no one ever came. At one point I asked to have the owner call me, which that never happened. Nikko even stated to me at one point "What do you want me to do? And he's project manager??? June, July, August, September, nothing, and finally October someone came with a roofer they use a lot. He nailed down some spots that that had lifted and says this should fixed the problem. This was after I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. After I filed the complaint, the response to me was to have this issue ratified, no one showed up and I kept calling. I see other complaints they have gotten and it makes me wonder, I should have used someone else. And Yes, I was told by the Home Visions employee that the job could have been done much better (workmanship) and yes, it wasn't even 2 years since I had the roof repaired and warranty is at least 10 years. I would not recommend them at all. It was not fair I caught up in their company politics and was not taken care of in a timely fashion. read more

Pros: High quality windows from Vytex (we went with the laminated glass package to reduce road noise and have been pleased with results), excellent job by the installers, sales rep was willing and able to negotiate price without the runaround we experienced from other companies. Cons: Communication (I often had to make several calls over multiple days to get a response). Also, the labels on the windows that were installed in the house did not match the specs agreed to in our contract for an upgraded fill gas package. Home Visions came to my apartment on October 22, 2015 to give me an estimate on the replacement of three windows. Measurements were taken and I was given an estimate of $2,766.00. I wrote a check for $950.00. The $950.00 was cashed and posted against my account on November 10, 2015. After the Thanksgiving holiday, I tried calling Home Visions but the voice mail was full and the 866 telephone was not in service. I asked for help from our building manager in December 2015 because I was unable to get through by telephone. Building manager told me that Home Visions was working in our building in December and January and that he had contacted Home Visions requesting that they contact me. I was able to leave a few voicemails. I had HV to replace entrance door, since they were the few who can do fire rated doors. The contracted period of performance was for 4-6 weeks, promising it wouldn't be delayed. I called them on the 5th week asking for status update and they were sure that the door would be arriving the following week. Then 2 weeks later I called again and that's when they told me that they're still waiting for parts from the manufacturer. So the project was delayed 4 more weeks, on top of the 7 I had waited for. Nonchalantly he said it's no big deal and things like this happens, after I express my frustration.. I also had to reschedule twice because they failed to inform me on the day they supposed to show up that they couldn't, and made me wait 2 more weeks. They said to expect the installers to arrive between 7-9 and they didn't get here until 10:30. OK. And when they got here, they didn't have the door frame which was stated on the contract to be replaced along with the door. They had to drive back to warehouse to get it which was 1.5hr away but took 4hrs. There was no traffic, I checked Google maps. So by the time the project was supposed to be finished, they have yet to start the ripout. Assuming I had nothing better to do this day but to sit in the house and wait, I would be OK with it if they didn't constantly failed every step of the way. Their pricing was good and that's about it. They really need to have better business practices and communication with their customers. The only good thing I can say is that my balcony door got installed. We arrived at our destination but the trip was horrendous. From the salespeople to the costumer service it was close to a nightmare. The salesperson decided to stay 30 min later to enjoy the sunset on our balcony. The office is non responsive that's why 7 month went by from salesperson to having the door installed (and we begged them to do it faster). Very Very bad customer service, Never fulfilled what they had promised.It was our bad luck to sign with them. One and half years ago, We replaced all our windows from Home Vision, when we contracted them. They replaced it with Crystal Windows, who they were dealing with at that time. After six months one by one window started having issues, the ergon gas was leaking and discoloring the windows. We informed Home Vision of the issue.They were taking their own sweet time with dealing our issue.They started using delay tactics. Frustrated , we filed complaint with BBB and then they responded. Eric their co-owner, visited us and he promised to look into the issue.He also mentioned that, they no longer dealt with Crystal windows and he said that resolving may take time and he will get back to us before March 31st 2014. No one called us after the deadline passed. So we called them and they again gave ambiguos replies, that the Crystal windows came back to them on 31st march and they will replace only 2 windows, even though we had issues with several windows. They are again using delaying tactics, and every time we try to mention that we are not happy with their response, they start telling, you are raising your voice and it will not help me to argue. I am now looking for legal options. I will not mind loosing money to lawyer to prove that we had been duped pretty badly, Will also be using social media sites and file complaints with BBB again. I had a roof installed 5 years ago from Home Visions, and recently found out rain has been leaking for quite a while ruining my wall and part of a floorboard from a very shoddy flashing job that was done around the bottom of the chimney. Since the roof is under a 25-year warranty, I have tried to contact Home Visions multiple times, through phone and Internet, with absolutely no response. I made it very clear in my voicemails who I was and why I was calling. I would not recommend Home Visions to anyone, and in fact will let all my friends and neighbors know of my very poor experience. From the initial consult to the final walk thru We were pleased. Had various quotes for the work and Home Visions Inc. beat out everyone's quote. They did a good job on my roof, Only issue I had was that I would have liked to have a ridge vent over my garage like the rest of the neighbors in the neighborhood. The workers cleaned up well and did a good job in and out in 1 1/2. Other than the small ridge vent that I think would give that part of the roof that extra pop, they did a great job. read more

Sadly disappointed in the level of customer service and their shoddy roof contractor's work! When I had my roof replaced by this company 7 years ago. Keith, Eric and Josh were so warm and friendly. Keith came to my home introduced himself as the owner of Home Visions and was more than willing to offer his business card along with his cell phone number should I have any problems. Well, I had problems; the roof was leaking! I called them three weeks ago to inform them that the roof they had replaced was leaking. They sent David, their roof guy out to investigate the problem. He was neither prepared nor able to access the roof directly to pinpoint the problem. He simply confirmed that I had a leak in my ceiling that was coming from the roof. He informed me that he would take this back to Keith and Josh and they would have the roof contractor, Humberto come out and make the necessary repairs. I waited on Monday for their call and when no one called me by noon, I decided to contact them. The receptionist told me that he could take a message and he would have Keith or Josh contact me. Two days passed and I still didn't hear anything so I called HV on Wednesday. The receptionist told me the same exact thing he said on Monday. I told him that he already told me that and I hadn't heard anything from Keith or Josh. I asked, could I leave a message for Keith and he said they did not have a system set up to leave a voicemail. That I could leave the message with him, he then said, I'll call Keith and give you a call back. When he called me back he said that the fee would be $250 for the roofer's labor and they would be out tomorrow (Thursday) to make the needed roof repairs. On Thursday the weather was a lovely 80F degrees and sunny, no roofers. On Friday the weather was a lovely 80F degrees and sunny, no roofers. On Saturday I decided to utilize the business card that Keith gave me and called his cell phone. There was no answer, so I left a message asking him to call me back because I had not heard anything from Humberto and they were supposed to fix my leaky roof on Thursday. Well it's been three weeks and I have still haven't seen Humberto the roofing contractor nor heard anything from Keith or any member of the HOV team. Don't waste your time with this company. Very disappointed in customer service, I have been trying to reach someone at the number that's listed on my receipt and the only thing I'm getting is a voice since Monday 1/11/16 and it's now Wednesday 1/13/16 and no one is answering the phone. I left a message when I finally got through to do that. Still no one has contacted me. Had a problem when I placed my order, actually they called frequently in reference to installation. I live in a condo and highly recommended HOV to the association for the nice addition to my enclosure of balcony. Need to see what is covered under their warranty, crack in one of my windows. Did a good job in my windows. The only complain I have is that they forget to include our master bathroom window although they measure it during initial installation. They claim I did not showed it to them which is not true. The owner came the first time and measured all the windows but did not include it in his contract. I didn't figure this out cause I thought it is included in the contract that we signed. There is a final measurement man who also measure all the windows including the master bathroom windows. After finishing the job without that one window, they are charging me full installation price for that one window which could have been included in the initial installation. I asked for a discount since it was not my fault, but they won't compromise. Other than this, it could have been a perfect transaction. I have 3 family member homes who I could have recommend them but not anymore. They actually losing a lot of business from me because of this! read more

We hired Home Visions 1 year and 7 months ago to replace a front door, sliding door and French door. The work was done so poorly that every single thing required the need to be redone. Home Visions did not dispute this. After all this time and the payment made in full our issues are still not resolved. We were even sold one brand of door and had a cheaper one installed. Home visions reply was that it was a misunderstanding. According to a review below this has happened before with this company. This company has been given NUMEROUS opportunities to resolve these issues. After waiting for Home Visions to show up for an appointment today, they did not show or call. They are practicing bad business and everyone in this area needs to be made aware. I am filing a formal complaint today with the Better Business Bureau and MHIC( it appears they have had 17 other BBB complaints filed) I hope that anyone planning a home improvement project is well aware to stay away from this company. Buyer beware! We were in the process of replacing the trim on our house and requested an estimate from Home Visions. We had received several other quotes and had a ball park idea of what it cost to replace our trim. Home Visions estimator provided us an initial quote which was higher than our other quotes and spoke with the owner of the company to match the other quotes. The Home Visions owner was excited to do the work on our house so he could add it to his portfolio and readily agreed to match the other quotes. Home Visions later sent out another estimator to review our project who stated that the original estimator estimates was more than half under what was needed. We should have seen the warning signs at that point but agreed to continue to work with them which was a big mistake. Home Visions is a pass through company so they had to call in another company to take the actual measurements of our property to arrive at the exact price of our project. The price was significantly more than what was originally quoted and the Home Visions owner did agree to pay half the difference of the increased price. Bottom line, Home Visions over promised and under delivered. it was four months from the time we signed our contract to when they said they weren't able to do the work. We were able to get our deposit back but that took another 3 nerve racking months of calling almost every day to find out when we would get our money back. Since Home Visions hires other companies to do the work there are only two or three people in their office who don't have any knowledge of what is really going on. We later found out that Home Visions only had a class C license in Virginia ($10K or less) and could not legally do the work on our house. These guys are all smoke and mirrors. To begin, I was told my windows would all fit within 1/4" of the frame, and insulation would be put where it would fit. Well, I don't think any of my windows fit within an inch on both sides, no insulation used, and some were so far off they had to be reordered. When I talked to them about it they gave me some long bs excuse and did nothing about it at the end of the day. In my dealings with them I did learn some things though. First, the so called "Director of Marketing" that met me, and offered me a much lower price than retail, is just a salesperson. They used that as a ploy along with putting value in placing a sign, which everyone does, in making me think they were offering me a good price to pressure a sale on the spot. Also, I've found that the installers used, which I was told were employees, are really 1099 contractors who aren't allowed to work anywhere else. Which leads me to believe the insurance policy I was shown wouldn't be the one used if something happened, so be careful and find out what the installers coverage is, god knows these guys are going to damage something. So summary, they can't measure, they will give you long winded excuses for mistakes they dont' care to fix, The "directors" are just commissioned sales guys, the installers are miscategorized as contractors and being ripped off on their benefits, and if something gets damaged well, good luck and be prepared for long winded excuses. Stay away from this company. My partner and I were looking for great windows that would comply with the Historical Society in Dupont Circle and Home Visions said they would take care of everything. Unfortunately, after they came in to complete the job, the windows were not approved by the Historical Society and then Home Visions came back to do something to one window to see if it would make a difference. Still not the correct window. We've been waiting over three years for Home Visions to come back to finish the job as the windows are not correct - now we have 1 window that looks different from the other 11 windows.. Lately - for the last eight months or so, we've been forced to deal with their collection company, TekCollect, who are threatening us with lawyers for not finishing payment. We've only requested what is fair, under Home Visions, Inc. 100% satisfaction guarantee promise (this seems to not mean anything to Home Visions), to finish their job so we could complete payment for what was contracted. We've never denied payment but we've also never had Home Visions complete the job professionally. Still waiting after 3 years and Home Visions has totally been unresponsive to fix what they did. Waiting for Eric to call us to get the job completed. Unfortunately we also invited them to cross sell products to other occupants in our building and those who did use Home Visions had horrible experiences too. It has impacted our relationship with some of our neighbors negatively as well. This has been an ongoing nightmare with no resolution in sight. Now Home Visions has ruined our credit with a collection agency for something so easy for them address - put in the correct type of windows - 12 windows that we are talking about here. Got a threatening letter from collector today, May 14, 2012, saying "There appears to be a real problem, and our client is NOT going to wait forever to be paid.... however, at this point you are making it very difficult for us to work out an agreeable payment schedule for this debt." WTF? Has the collection agency seen all our correspondence back and forth with Home Visions to request to get the job done over the last 3 years? This was not worth it for such a small job of 12 windows replaced and upgraded that would meet the strict Historical Society standards of Dupont Circle and our neighborhood. Now the windows are very stiff to open to boot. Stay away from Home Visions. I plan to write this review everywhere because I am fed up watching my partner being ignored by Home Visions yet now being harrassed and threatened with legal action from a collection agency, TekCollect, in Ohio! Seriously. I'm glad I saw all these reviews on yelp! (they have their business listed with 2 or 3 different versions of Home Visions, Home Visions Inc, etc.) that were negative. It confirms we are not the only ones with Home Visions problems. Really, this business deserves negative stars.
