My Mom bought two table stands here. Christian was very helpful. He wheeled the stands out to the curb to load into our van and went back into the store several times to retrieve material to cushion the stands in case they fall. We were very appreciative of his help. My Mom can be demanding but Christian was very accommodating and patient. Christian was a standout and is a great asset to HomeGoods. This location has to be the most organized store I have ever been too, I came last Sunday with my girlfriend and I was so excited that they had so many Halloween decor. The store was also really organized and the aisles felt roomy and clean so it was easy to find so many good things. I ended up purchasing a couple a black metal Halloween house for under $17, it's so cute and I love that it's not too corny. I also picked up dog supplies to my little pup, every corner had something I didn't need but wanted plus for the cost of what you're paying for you're definitely saving. I got dog wipes for $3.99 anywhere else they'd be $8! Also cashiers were fast and really attentive, we were in out of the line in minutes. I went to the TJ/Home Goods in Mission Valley and I kid you not I was in line for almost an hour. Definitely coming back! read more

Love HomeGoods! It's so difficult not to buy a million things here because there are just so many great things. You'll find things you didn't know you needed here. It's dangerous! The selection is so wide and I have no idea how they fit it all into the building. Need a lamp? Need kitchen utensils? Throw blankets? Pillows? Fake plants? Drawer organizers? Headphone holder? Dog toys? Lunch bags and drink tumblers? A new wreath for the door? Nearly EVERYTHING is here, it's wild. The aisles are pretty tight, so prepare for that if you're using a cart (and you will, because there's too much to hold in your hands, I promise). This store has some great stuff. The checkout line is usually fast. However... This place reeks of body odor. It wasn't a one-off customer walking around trying to get out of the sun. There is something in this store that absolutely reeks like a city bus driving through Brussels on a hot Belgian summer day. I usually enjoy shopping at Home Goods, but this visit was genuinely unpleasant. An employee named Dahritza made several inappropriate and unprofessional comments about an item we were considering--telling us she "wouldn't buy it," that it was an "ugly color," and that it "wasn't good for a bathroom." That's not helpful advice; it was super rude and felt judgmental and unnecessary. She also pointed out that the item had two prices on it and insisted that we would have to pay the higher price because it was "the most expensive one," rather than calmly explaining or offering to check the correct price. The whole interaction felt dismissive and rude and we didn't end up buying the rug. On top of that, another employee was aggressively pushing a cart through the store, repeatedly snapping "Is that your cart? Is that your cart?" at customers. Meanwhile, a rug display fell on my sister, because it was broken, and an employee walked right past us without offering any help. The store itself was extremely cluttered and disorganized, which only added to the frustration. Overall, the customer service was poor, unwelcoming, and disappointing. We were just checking out their clearance stuff and some cool items. The inside was clean and items were easy to find. They sell some food items, candles, and lots of kitchen gadgets to big furniture. They had a lot of Halloween stuff out. Pretty cute. I haven't really been here. I'm a huge fan of homegoods and having lived in Southbay for the last 10 years, I can tell you I go out of the way to drive to Point Loma, Mission Valley and even the Poway store just to shop there. Mission Valley is the biggest location and this one is just slightly smaller than the one in Point Loma. They are all laid out pretty similarly too. I was amazed that after waiting two days after the grand opening to check them out, it was still jam packed! And this was on a Tuesday. I will say I was impressed that merchandise seemed to be flying out the door yet there was still plenty of inventory. The store was exceptionally clean and organized too so you can tell that they have a lot of employees working to restock, organize and keep things looking good. This is probably one reason I've always been a fan of Homegoods. They were friendly and my only gripe is that there were too many carts and people jamming the isles. I'm sure it will settle down once the thrill of the new store is gone. But with all the new condos, apartments, homes and even hotels being built out here in Otay Ranch I'm not so sure it will settle down anytime soon. I'll reserve the 5th star until I see how well they do with clearance merchandise. Of course nothing is on clearance yet and that's where the best bargains can be found. I will say I bought 8 wine glasses from Italy for $20 which is a really good deal. I also picked up Agave nectar (not expired haha) along with fig jam from France (only 3.49!) and another jam from the pacific northwest for very reasonable prices. We stopped in here for a quick snack search on our dinner break and were able to breeze through the aisles quickly to see what this store was all about. Unfortunately we left empty-handed and empty-bellied, too. Good thing we had dinner nearby. This business just opened up around the area and it is very convenient for me when I'm in the need for home products. The parking is vast and the cleanliness of the establishment is great. Outside the business looks great and when you walk inside you're usually greeted my the employees. They have various options to choose from for your home and if you need help finding anything the employees would gladly help you as they did me. I loveee me some Homegoods! It was jam packed during the grand opening/weekends but when I go weekdays after work it's not too bad. The aisles are kind of close together, but I would think that's because they have so much stuff to look through. It's never a boring day in this location. It takes a lot of self control to not buy so much, and I like how they have different styles grouped together in each section for the most part. I do have one issue however - I think the employees who stand at the front and greet people should be welcoming and happy. Last night I walked in and a young blonde woman was standing with her arms crossed, leaning against the table in the front. We made eye contact, I smiled, and all I can say is she looked pissed she had to be there. I usually brush those interactions off but she looked so legitimately off that I almost asked her if she had a problem. Thankfully this is not the usual...but I don't want to feel unwelcome when I come in to shop. read more

Very disappointed in the degree of customer service provided at this location. I do shop here frequently so I give them lots of business. I discovered the hard way that they have no record of your purchases unless you have the receipt. I had a large return but had lost the receipt. Even though the tags were still on them, they gave me a lower price in return even though I found the exact exchange tag in the store. Just make sure you always email the receipt (or keep original) so you don't get ripped off later. read more

I am so happy now I don't have to drive all the way to fashion valley . This is a fairly new store and is within 30 min walking distance from where I live. I love the store , it looks very clean and the employees over there are awesome. It does get crowded because that's the only Homegoods in the area. They have some cute and amazing stuff . You can get some good deals over here. I love that they carry some authentic food items from all around the world . The only downside is the parking. I love this store. The staff is usually really friendly. I love comming here and finding all the hidden gems to make my home more amazing. I was looking for a certain type of basket and a young lady named Alexis was so helpful and super nice. And helped me pick the perfect basket and gave me some really good ideas for my next project. I was really grateful she was there to help me. I was also able to pick out some yummy new coffees to add to my coffee bar. I would give this store 5 stars but unfortunately i came here another time and unfortunately Alexis wasnt there but some lady named Marisol or marisela was there and she was so rude and looked liked she hated her job. I have been a loyal customer since their grand opening (usually making purchases multiple times a month.) I went in last Saturday and bought two mirrors and a couple other items as we were doing some minor renovations to our primary bath. The mirrors were boxed so you could not see the backside so I purchased two assuming they were in good condition. Upon getting home and taking the mirrors out of the box, the back hanging piece of one was detached and as soon as you put any weight on it was unstable and not able to be hung. I took both mirrors back today to see if there was one more that I could exchange or return both if not. By luck, there was one more in stock! I took all three mirrors up to the front and the clerk brought in her manager who was rude beyond belief. I understand the policy of not taking something back that is damaged if it wasn't sold that way. However, it was sold that way, they just were unable to see that damage from the original packaging. The manager was rude and unapologetic. Not only would she not accept the return/exchange, when showing her the difference between the good mirror I purchased the same day, she also refused to take the mirror back forcing me to dispose of it as well. As a loyal customer or honestly any customer in general, there should at least be some level of empathy shown from management. Despite living 5 minutes from this location, I will be taking my business elsewhere because this was beyond disrespectful. read more

pros...love this store, now that i have a condo. it helps with filling the inside of it with more stuff. this place has just about a little of everything. love that some things are really discounted and pretty good deal. staff are still pretty diligent about cleaning up and shelving things back to their departments. i love the cookware department, if you look hard you can find some pretty good deals on things here. i was just browsing and found some actual le cruset pans and other pretty fancy brands. cons...well some of the people that come here are pretty rude and inconsiderate of other people. let's just say they seem to be more interested in rummaging then looking after their children. or they feel that the store is their personal daycare center while they shop. parents, please control you children. i was just browsing when i see this small 4 or 5 year old kid just running around and making a general mess of things. she nearly tripped up an older woman, by bumping into her leg. where is this child's parent or guardian? i was surprised that she didn't hurt herself with all the items she was pulling off the shelf and leaving on the floor. i mean it's not the stores fault, but just a general comment of some peoples parenting skills or lack their of. anyways, if you come, i hope you don't have to deal with inconsiderate parents who don't mind their children. the staff were very chill and just cleaned up the mess. read more
