My wife and I go to this Home Goods semi-regularly because 1) it's dog-friendly and 2) there's an opportunity reasonably priced and decent quality furniture and home items, including pet items. We live in Oakland, and this HomeGoods is in Moraga on a short hop after the Caldecott Tunnel/Highway 24. This HomeGoods has a big parking lot in the Rheem Valley Shopping Center shared with a bunch of businesses (CVS, Starbucks, Nation's, TJ Maxx, some restaurants, Dollar Tree, etc.) We've gotten various items over the years (pillows, bath mats, wine glasses, picture frames) and have been happy with our purchases. I feel like I can spend hours in this location. There's always something new or interesting that the other HomeGoods doesn't seem to carry. The furniture selections incredible very little to no damage pieces are on the floor, unlike other locations that seem to have a lot of damaged products. This HomeGoods has everything you could even need in a home. I specifically came looking for a rug, and I came home with the perfect one. They have a huge selection of big area rugs, with a lot of discounted brands. The staff helpfully rolled all of its 8 by 10 feet area and left it by the cashier for me to pickup after I was done shopping. Their kitchen and pillow section were especially well stocked. Some of the furniture and shelving units could've been better quality and more organized rather than scattered throughout the store, but any HomeGoods frequenteer would be walking around anyway. This store is a bit out of the way for me, but if I ever need a rug again I will be sure to come back. read more

Dropped in for a quick return. Did the typical looong wait in snaking line. Returned a small item with receipt and not a word was said. I said I had a return, he scanned, gave me a gift card and turned his back. I stood there thinking he was working on something else for me and then he walked off. It was super odd. I shrugged my shoulders and walked out assuming the transaction was complete. It's not that I won't be back but t I sure grow tired of the poor service I experience in retail. I live 20 minutes away from this HomeGoods, but I made the drive because I was desperate to find something specific. I bought a small basket in Pleasant Hill HomeGoods and was trying to find a larger, matching one. I felt like it was an impossible mission because different HomeGoods stores don't always have matching items. Well, this HomeGoods in Moraga exceeded expectations! I found two different sizes baskets that matched with the original one! I was also amazed at how nice the people working there were, and how organized the store was. This HomeGoods is really large so they have a lot more options than the Pleasant Hill location. I will definitely make the long drive to come back here! read more

(This is a late review, back from Oct/Nov 2024) This home goods needs additional training. I've been a long term HG customer and love this particular location because it is nicely organized and sales associates are friendly. However, my experience today shows that additional training is needed. I returned an item within the 30 day window. This item did not come with an accessory so the product could not be used for the purpose it was intended. Essentially it was defective. The return was completed, but afterwards the associate wanted me to repurchase the product and instead return it to the store it was purchased from, which is 25 miles away and with Bay Area traffic can take over an hour to get to. She insisted and would not back down so I requested to speak with the manager. The manager also gave me the same information, but later agreed to take the return. She also told me moving forward I need to call the store to inform I was making a return of a defective item. WHAT? I have never heard of calling HG to make a return. I wasted an hour waiting for them to go back and forth to make their decision. Thankfully I was off of work and could wait, who knows maybe they were hoping I would get impatient and leave without the credit. Is this a new policy that returns (defective items) have to be submitted to the original store? If so, it should be clearly state BUYER BEWARE if you purchase from a store say while you're on vacation, better inspect it to make sure that it's not defective or else you're stuck with it at this store. read more

Came here with a shopping list and am glad to say I was able to check everything off the list!! Deciding on 4 stars because the store was under construction and a lot of aisles were empty and messy. But I still found everything I needed so I'm not complaining! Growing up my mom loved this store and as I'm getting older (and more into home decor) I see why HomeGoods is her fav. Things I bought: *Side table: Love how easy it is to assemble/disassemble. It's a beautiful all black circle side table and looks soooo elegant. *White Fur bean bag: Simply bought this to match the aesthetics of my room. Was aiming for an ottoman, but found this gem. *Plant pot: I knew HomeGoods had to have a selection of pots. And they did! Saw so many cute ones that inspired me to buy more plants. Bought a broken frame without knowing. Manager didn't want to refund it even though the packaging was still on the frame (save the corner where the frame was broken). I had a digital receipt. Got into a rhetorical debate about all the ways it could have been damaged which was stupid. The worst customer service I've ever experienced. Silvia the store manager is the most unprofessional, rudest bitch I've ever come across at a home goods. I spent over $500 the night before and came back the next afternoon to return a $25 shower curtain that was not the right dimensions. I obviously had to rip the curtain out of its paper label to hold it up to the rod and because I was moving and cleaning my new apartment I had thrown out the label. I was told they couldn't take the curtain back despite it being in perfect condition because I didn't bring back the paper label and hanger it came with. But then they explained how they could give me $10 for it if they took it as damaged. Mind you, they specifically said that had I brought back the curtain with the label all ripped up, they would take it and give me a refund, but they'd mark it as damaged regardless. So that's when I got upset because why does it matter if the paper label and hanger is on there if you're going to mark it as damaged anyways and not put it on the floor to resell?? If both options leave you with a product that's in unsellable condition, why would one option give me a full refund and the other none/or only $10 back? It just felt personal at that point, like she was trying to come up with a reason to not give me the $ back. I was also purchasing $100 worth of more stuff today. I went back and forth with Claudia, who also seemed like she had a stick up her ass today, and Silvia for what felt like 15 minutes until she finally agreed to give me back the full amount on my receipt. I have never experienced this bad of service. All over a fucking curtain. They act like it's coming out of their fucking paycheck. That's why Costco and Tj Maxx have such a great reputation because they don't try to go back and forth with you over little shit like this. Silvia is just bad for the home goods brand and needs to get booted out of there. She probably gave me a fake name because she wasn't wearing her name tag but she's the old bitter bitch with long black hair. This is the TJ Maxx store with all home products. I recently moved and am still looking for new things for the new place. Lots of nice decor pieces and great lamp selection. The furniture is pricey for the quality IMO, but there's an occasional gem. Check closely for flaws or damages as many pieces seem a bit dinged up. read more

There is an inexplicable excitement that washes over me whenever I go to HomeGoods, as we drive through the tree-lined curvy roads of Moraga. It is what Sephora used to be for me...a place for discovery and fun. Along the wall adjacent to the entrance were the most delicate and gorgeous accent pieces: animal figurines with sparkly crystals embedded in them, seashells with metallic accents/animals, colorful vases imported from Europe, etc. Homegoods also has rugs, chairs, chest of drawers, entertainment centers, yard stuff, and seasonal items, like barbeque grills. Your eyes can't help but dart around in every direction with the many different hues of one-of-a-kind decorative items in the store. I love the reasonable prices that make shopping there less painful. I was able to exercise some self-restraint, but my sis goes nuts there every time. read more

I called this store today and was told they can't look up my receipt in their system as I no longer have it and they can only give me store credit for 1 of the 3 boxes as I only have 1 in possession. While this location has incredible merchandise, some of the staff including the manager are unprofessional and downright rude. The exception were the two young men working today. One was on registers and the other working in the rug area. They both were super friendly and helpful, going above the standard. The rest of the team today however was ridiculous. Several of us in line watched as a customer tried to return an item and was turned down. Instead of politely explaining to the customer why they could not accept the return, the employee was rude and overly loud basically making a scene. After the customer exited, the employees proceeded to discuss and laugh (actually a cackle) at this customer, all while they had a line 10 people deep waiting to purchase. I had to make a trip out here after speaking to women who said this is the best HomeGoods location. It is! They have such a great selection of pillows! And they have pretty rugs. I have to remember that when shopping for one. I came in for a comforter but then asked if a sales person could help me choose frames for my room. I ALWAYS end up at this location and find what I need and them some! This is the second Home Goods that I have been to in the Bay Area. This store is so clean and organized. I was really impressed. This store beats out the Brentwood Home Good all the way. I will be going here more often. I have a friend who loves elephants. Home Goods always has the coolest elephant stuff. Elephant vases, elephant statues, elephant garden art, elephant paintings. The employees are nice to the customers, But unfortunately the Store Manager Korina is very rude and disrespectful and unprofessional ,and along with the loss prevention agent. First off Korina is bipolar. She'll go off her employees in front of the customers and treat em like crap and these are an either elderly employee or the young college kids. I've seen it first hand myself. Even some employees has quit their job there because of her. This was the closest HG to me and I was glad I found it. I went straight to where I needed to go and found an awesome solid wood mirror for $80. The not so great part was I saw a dude who could have gotten someone to help me carry that huge a** mirror but he was too busy dilly-dally chatting non-sense with someone so I just dragged the mirror to the register... almost. There happen to be a nice guy who finished helping me just a few feet before I got to the cashier. Anywho, I found what I needed at a better price than other places I've looked and that was good enough for me. A hidden gem..... that might be a bit exaggerated, but it is a surprisingly great store considering its location, it's a commitment to get here, but worth it once you arrive. Some HomeGoods stores I have been to are jammed packed and it is just a frustrating experience trying to find something or remove it from the shelves, or navigate between aisles and product, none of this is an issue at this store. There is plenty of stuff, but well organized and curated displays, and plenty room to navigate between the aisles without fear of causing everything to crash down around you. I did not have any interactions with floor staff, but the cashiers were all friendly and acknowledged those waiting in line, or greeting folks as they entered the store. read more

I couldn't stand still because my eyes kept seeing interesting things worth buying. The large spinning globe, the 60 oz gigantic cognac glass; the Mozart and Beethoven figurines; the standing nymph light; the interesting artworks, and numerous other colorful things.... It was well worth the windy drive. I realized that after I was done that, I probably had never been through Moraga in my life. What a cute little city Moraga and Lafayette are. I went out to Moraga today to hang out with my sister-in-law and my nephew, Henry. I needed some kitchen items and she needed a lamp for little Hank's room, so we checked out Home Goods. Home Goods is a store that sells Goods for your Home, but at lower prices than department stores. Some things really are significantly lower priced (like the removable bottom non-stick tart pan I purchased for $5.99), but some things are not (like the Le Creuset 4 qt round dutch oven in orange that I drooled all over and then didn't buy, sorry) which was only about $20 less than at Macy*s. Hankster was really silly the whole time, and he flirted with every lady in the store by smiling and making spit bubbles and doing his fake cough. Hankalicious gives the shopping carts one star. I'm assuming this rating because he refused to sit in the cart and wanted to be held and shnuggled the whole time. My sister-in-law and I had fun playing the "What would frighten my husband the most if I brought it home, put it somewhere prominent, and pretended to really like it" game. Home Goods is full of useful items, and but also horrible things like chartruese snail sculptures as big as Hankmeister, and a headless woman's body as tall as me made of cardboard, wire, and pink velveteen. There were also lime green coasters that said things like "Prosperity" and "Relaxation" on them, not to mention oodles of tacky furniture, like the red patent leather storage ottomans I am so sure that my husband would love to have in our living room, or the two foot tall "WELCOME" sign with three big fat roosters on it that would look so amazing nailed securely to our front door as a huge "surprise!" when he gets home from work. Go to Home Goods for kitchen items and other odds and ends you may need for your home. They have photo albums, picture frames, baby furniture, rugs, and tons of other useful stuff. So, if you are like me you make many a trip to TJ Maxx and Marshalls. If you are like me, you like the thrill of the hunt and are okay with the agony of defeat because there is always next week. Home Goods is the home decor/furniture/cookware/serveware/bedding and bath section of TJ Maxx. A whole store full of much more reasonably priced items than department stores and retailers because I for one love Crate and Barrel and Pottery Barn, but am married to a PhD grad student (come on honey, almost finished!). I have been to a couple in SoCal with my mom and am lucky this one is reasonably close. This store is well stocked and reasonably organized, better than most TJ Maxx stores with no towels thrown on the floor or all the 3x5 rugs strewn all other the rug aisle. They have a large selection of 8X10 area rugs, accent furniture pieces and armchairs and lamps. Last trip I found a canvas print for $50 to adorn my living room, $18 Tommy Hilfiger Jersey sheets for my queen guestbed, $2 dish to add to my collection and a set of 3 tall candle goblets for $15. I am rating this HomeGoods store in relation to the other HomeGoods stores at which I have shopped in NY, LA, the Bay Area, Dallas/Ft. Worth, and Reno. This is one of the best Home Goods stores at which I have shopped in the U.S. It is extraordinarily clean and organized...whoever stocks their shelves must have OCD because everything is organized by item, color, brand, etc. This is my kind of organization and it is a pleasure shopping here. It makes me want to really linger and check things out. It is a pleasant and relaxing shopping environment, and their restrooms were exceptionally clean, as well. If I were needing to decorate or furnish a home in the Bay Area, this is one of the first places I would check out and I would most definitely make repeat visits...for bedding, kitchenware, bath items, and furniture. About the only thing I didn't see them offering was mattresses, so you will have to go elsewhere for that. If you visit this store, be sure to check out the T J Maxx clothing store at the opposite of the shopping center. It is EXTRAORDINARY! read more

I love love love this huge store. It's full of gorgeous, unusual, creative and well priced items for your home. The candle selection alone makes me swoon, the kitchen department is pretty much all encompassing, linens....it's almost too much to take in. I've discovered that I can only go in the store with a list, otherwise I will buy the most random stuff like a bottle of cranberry scented lotion, a velvet ottoman with tassels, padded hangers, another Calaphon pot, linen napkins, a wreath made of feathers, assorted boxes of stationery, a bud vase, silk flowers, another blue bath mat, bag of English toffee, a spice grinder.....you get the idea. The place is fantastic and very well organized. Plenty of free parking in their huge lot and a friendly and helpful staff make Home Goods a huge win! I just wish I lived closer!!! read more
