Its annoying how it has lots of old folks, milling around, taking a break between glasses of medemucil. Other than that, the store has cute home "extras" from vases, mirrors, pillows, and what not. Definitely cheaper than department store counterparts. However, if you want curtains for example, while the prices are cheap they may only have 2 or 3, at most matching sets, so if you are trying to find curtains fr a house that needs like 3-4 sets of panels, you will be poop out of luck. Also, I found some items, like lamps, are cheaper at its sister store Marshalls. The staff was friendly, and I only mention the older folks, because they are the types that take up the whole aisle and when you say excuse me and try to squeeze around them they give YOU the dirty look like you're the one in the way....damn viejitos amargados. I so adore this store and it's got all you could need and more; and it's never a bore, why don't u get right down there and try to score ??? ok i know, i know, my silly pseudo rap side is out of control right now but the truth of the matter is that I am thrilled to have this store in my midst. It is incredibly well laid out, clean, organized and nicely stocked. It's also beautifully colorful (my bf was not feeling that aspect) but I was on a rainbow high from all the unified sprays of color, light and luminescence. It just makes shopping a true delight - i would totally suggest bypassing Ross and maybe Marshalls in LB and drive a little bit more to Seal Beach/Los Alamitos to heighten your home decor shopping experience. Horrendous, messy, unsafe experience. Aisles has small furniture, rugs, stationary like items, together, on floor in aisle. Broken items are overpriced as clearance "deals". 9 of us, waiting for one of two cashiers to become available. 3 staff floating around behind cash registers, but I had to ask twice to request another cashier come to our aide. Now it's my turn to pay. ($7 bar of soap, & a car charger). It's THEN cashiers are called. As I leave I count 23 separate customers, waiting to pay! on a Saturday at 3:15pm. This place is great! I took my mom here last night, just to look, and we ended up spending $50 on baking pans and kitchen items. We saved a lot too. I was surprised at how clean and organized the store was for a clearance store. They are owned by TJMax, so its the same concept as their apparel stores but for home decor. They carry linens, furniture, frames, mirrors, kitchen stuff, and china. This is a good place to go to if you are looking to decorate your digs with fancy looking stuff. What I didn't like about it is, that because it 's a clearence center, sometimes they will only have a couple of the items you want. Like the great baking rack my mom found for 5.99. They only had one, and that was it. We would have liked to have bought more. So check it out, it's in Seal Beach, in the Rossmoor Center. read more

I really like Home goods but this store seems to have some customer service issues. I was there on Sat and it wasn't busy. I was the the only person in line with one item and the cashier on checkstand 7 pretended not to see me and closed. I put my item down and left. I'm sure she had more important things to do but that was lousy service and just plain rude. I give the store 2 stars because I like it but the employees get 0, at least on that day. read more

I shopped there yesterday and was charged for 3 items ($15 total) that I never purchased. This morning I called and explained what I noticed on my receipt and was told to just come in. Apparently these items are mugs. When I arrived, the manager, Anthony, said the security has to review the cameras and does not know when he/she will be in but will contact me. I don't live in this city and had made the trip to go back there, after being instructed to come in, only to be told I'll hear back from them. When will that be? Anthony did not know when the security will be there this week and didn't appear to make the effort to call and find out when I was there. That's $15 that I can use for groceries and time driving back and forth that I won't ever get back. Update: Rita, one of the managers, called me back yesterday and told me to come in at my "earliest convenience" to refund my money back. She also added a gift card for any inconvenience. I waltzed in this store not needing anything and just to browse, and 5 minutes later, i felt like i needed everything. Everything is so well priced! For example, dog jackets typically run from $25-30 at the petsmart next door. Here, dog jackets sell for an average of TEN DOLLARS. Great quality products for cheap prices. read more

For the record, I'm 24 and I don't have my own place. I still love this store. As everyone else said, this place is in the same vein as Ross or TJ Maxx (actually, it's owned by the same people as TJ Maxx), but instead of clothing, they have more goods for the home. (Oh! That's why they call it Home Goods...) This is one of my favourite places to buy gifts, because everything here is so unique. Occasionally, you might walk in and see, like, three of the same thing scattered throughout the store, but they don't have tons of the same product. It's a hodgepodge, and a reasonably priced one at that. The store has kitchenwares, patio decor, children's decor (including some beautiful toys), bathroom towels and accessories, wall art, bedsheets, lamps, and furniture, but the best things (in my opinion) are all the strange decorations. I really don't know how to describe it all. Truly something for everyone. (At least everyone of the female persuasion.) The reason I only gave this place 4 stars, instead of 5, is because of the check-out. My favourite part of the store used to be the tiny book, journal, and notecard section, but they have now moved all those things to the check-out line, along with a lot of other cool stuff. I don't have nearly enough time to look at them all while waiting in line, and it holds up the line when I do look. I adore this place! Their gourmet food sections have exciting goodies I've never even heard of, such as raspberry vinaigrette and every seasoning imaginable. Don't come on a Sunday afternoon though because this place gets packed! Especially around the Christmas season, they are getting new things coming in all the time. It is the perfect place for finding a Christmas gift for someone, because everything is of high quality and there are tons of cute things and gift baskets. They have an extensive selection of dog toys and clothing, which are half the price of the items in Petsmart, located right next door. I bought my dog the cutest sweater for only 10 bucks! I discovered HG years ago and have been to at least a dozen locations since then; some are better than others, and if you've ever frequented a store like TJ Maxx (same company), you know you have to hit them at the right time or you'll be disappointed. Either you will get a huge bag filled with goodies, or you'll leave empty-handed, or with something silly like a leopard-print broom (yes I have one). The great thing about HG is, they are generally laid out well and are tidy, unlike some places (ahem Marshalls). You don't feel as though you're digging through a pile of stuff sticky with what you hope is some little kid's lollipop on the chance there is buried treasure underneath. Honestly if I wanted to deal with that I would go to the Good Will because it's a helluva lot cheaper and just as much an excavation. If you don't actually _need_ anything for your house, I strongly suggest you keep away...same goes if you only have $12 left in your checking account! I actually live kinda far from here but a few weeks ago, I was in the area so I hit it up. I spent about $70 and got several kitchen gadgets for just a few dollars that would otherwise cost at least $6-$7 at Target AND two Calphalon ceramic dutch ovens for I believe $15 and $10 respectively. If you are looking for frou frou decorations, designer towels and linens, come take a gander; most of the stuff here is good quality and name brand. There is also a selection of cookbooks, lamps, picture frames, rugs (I have a Chinese wool one from here I get compliments on nearly every time I have a house guest), etc. Sometimes there is stuff you wouldn't touch with a stick, but eh one woman's junk is another's treasure. I strongly recommend if you really like something, to snatch it up, because it will be gone next time, especially in this location, when the hardest work the women who frequent this location have ever done is type an email after a manicure. read more

We are selling our house, so this store was recommended to us by our Staging Designer. For some reason, we didn't even know it existed beforehand. This store has some really exceptionally priced deals for home staging accessories of all kinds. I would definitely check this one out prior to buying similar things a lot more expensively at Target. Taste is very appropriate especially if you live in an older home. Our house was built in 1919- not a craftsman, but cheap IKEA stuff just does not fit in that well. Here we found some pretty amazing artwork, mirrors and other accessories for about $30 to $50 each. Seriously- pretty good deal. They even have a nice collection of kitchen accessories, olive oils, vinegars, condiments etc. Nuff said- discover the rest for yourself. read more

They sell dishes, bowls, silverware, bedding (for kids too), baking necessities, seasonal decorations, stationery, rugs, bathroom stuff, luggage, and small furniture. My first purchase was the cutest pink and white striped ceramic mixing bowl by Terremoto that I had previously seen at Sur La Table (about $35). My price at Home Goods? About $15. I've also bought a Calvin Klein comforter, Laura Ashley pillows, Kitchen Aid plastic mixing bowls, and tons of gifts for coworkers (chocolates, stationery set, picture frames, soaps). The only downside is that, if you want to buy a complete set of bowls or dishes, they usually sell them separately so you'll have to dig around to make a set. read more

This store reminds me a lot of the home section of Ross and Marshall's, but wayyy bigger. They have very good prices and they also have a couple clearance aisles of dirt cheap stuff that can easily be fixed up. When the store is crowded it can be very difficult to get around, especially with carts. The employees are quick but not overly friendly. It really depends on when the last shipment came in and how many soccer moms have trampled through before you get there. Our location is in Los AL, so, needless to say there are a lot of ladies of leisure who grab some of the best items. I make a lot of gift baskets (because I am 45 at heart) So this has been a great place to find items at a huge discount. Give all of your purchases a good once over, sometimes there is a bit of damage. I have a sneaking suspicion that the staff are told to stack all paintings and mirrors so poorly that if you just pass down the isle, everything will fall and shatter, leaving you to buy a bunch of hotel art. I have seen that happen twice already. Some poor lady got stuck with three broken mirrors in the shape of fruit. read more

Oh, Home Goods, why haven't I found you before? Alas I was paying way too much for much cheaper quality stuff. Seriously, people. My friend at work mentioned this place to me yesterday and offered to take me there sometime. I was in a shopping sorta mood, so I said, "Sure. How about today?" So we went during our lunch break and wow. I could have easily spent more time wandering the well-ordered, brightly lit isles, so I'll have to go back when I'm not constricted by a time clock. I went in expecting something like Tuesday Morning or Big Lots, but when I walked in I was greeted with a huge display of Spode china! My mom loves and collects that stuff, so I need to head back to purchase a few birthday and Christmas presents for her! My one disappointment was that I wanted to buy a cool lamp, but couldn't find one for less than $40. They have a large lighting section, and those lamps were worth a good deal more, but I'm just too broke to spend more than $20. So instead I walked out with a large back of kitchen supplies for about 25 bucks. Wow. Can't wait to go back! read more

I stopped by here on my way home and I'm glad I did. I found 2 very nice pieces here. I bought a sparkly golden candle stand and a pink cart for accessories. The customer service here is good. When I found the accessory cart, there was no price tag on it. I asked one of the workers if they can find out the price for me and I also requested a discount since the cart was slightly discolored. The worker was able to find a price and discount this item for me. I ended up getting $10 off of the product. When I found the golden candle stand, some of the crystals were slightly coming off. I requested a discount on this product as well since the items I bought were the last ones there. I was able to get a $10 discount on the candle stand as well. After paying for my products, my hands were full and I needed an extra hand to take the items to my car. The manager was able to help me bring the pink accessory cart to my car. I really appreciated this since then other HomeGoods store I went to would not assist me in bringing my products to my car. This location has much better customer service, tons of unique items, fast service, and a clean and organized setting. I will definitely be visiting here again when I am in the area. read more
