Love home goods, great finds, but service is always slow. don't go if you're in a rush.

Where do I begin? The bathrooms the junkies use to shoot up in, literally the next stall from me? The dog pee and poop on the floor? The people doing stock that look like they're about to drop dead from overwork? The customers literally ripping open merchandising stealing it because there is no security around? Well, at least my cashier was nice. And I will never get that TJX card, so please stop asking me about it. Very disappointed. read more

Let me start this review off by saying I have a passion for interior decorating! HomeGoods is just one of those places that is either a hit or a miss, depending on what your interior style is and what you're on the hunt for. I can't really give this particular location 5 stars because when I went it was nearly EMPTY! The shelves were barely stocked with home decor, yet other locations had way more to choose from. I understand this is a fairly new location AND there's a pandemic... but COME ON! I always used to shop at the Glendale location but since I moved back to Los Angeles this is the closest one to me. I need y'all to do better, please! I need the manager to make sure their inventory is on point and the shelves are filled up, because I'm ready to spend my coins! The staff was really diligent with all the pandemic ordinances so I really appreciated that. The store was very clean too, so kudos for keeping it nice. read more

As what I witnessed yesterday at Home goods store in studio city . Customer bought a Table paid for it and taking it to her car . Suddenly the grumpy loud mouth lady followed her in the parking lot telling her hey I was going to buy that table . The other girl answered mam I bought it and here is the receipt . The grumpy bitch started yelling loud calling the store manager that I was going to get that table . So the store manager tells this lady let her have it and will get you another one , what a moron . So this nice lady gave them the table back and they refunded her money . Wow I would stay away from that piece of shit store with shitty staff and the manager . To bad that didn't happened to me . They would not get that table back it was paid for . Crappy store to shop . It'll be cold day in hell before I go shop there again . read more

I was so disappointed in the managers lack of customer service today. I came in on Saturday with a friend and their mom for the friends and family discount and purchased a few items. When I was paying at the register, the cashier told me the total but then said she forgot to charge the table runner. I didn't think to double check my receipt then and there as I was in a rush to leave. On Sunday I noticed she charged me twice and I contacted my friend about the charge who mentioned their mom said I can go back with the receipt and they should be able to help me. I went back today and explained the what happened to the cashier and manager. The manager said they couldn't help me because I didn't have all the items I purchased with me. I explained that everything is at home and I don't live in the area. I live in Chatsworth, I wouldn't drive from there to Studio City to scam the store out of $14. When I mentioned that I would just call my bank and dispute the charge, the manager said I can go to any home goods location with all the items I purchased and they could help me. So there I go in RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC from Studio City to Chatsworth just to go home, pick all the tags out of the fucking trash, throw all the shit I bought in the car and off to the nearest location to my home. I repeated my little fairytale to the cashier and manager there who said it was store where the transaction took place's responsibility to refund me because it was their mistake. He mentioned that the manager in Studio City probably said to go anywhere because they didn't want to lose their profit. Luckily the manager at the Chatsworth location was able to refund me without having to check all the items that I purchased. I don't want my friend's mom to catch heat for Theo review but y'all need to work on your customer service skills. This store is in a bougie location where I know people tend to complain a lot more...so use this as an example to brush up on those skills so y'all know how to deal with customers. read more

So great that Studio City graduated to get a Home Goods! Super easy place, crappy parking situation, but well worth the trip! They have a really great inventory - and the staff is helpful and upbeat. I had a consistent experience here - with what I have experienced with other Home Goods - so nothing really stands out here verse any Home Goods - which is an OK thing. Finally open back up for business! Highly impressed with how they are handling the staff and customers amid the COVID-19 spread. The aisles are marked with arrows to guide traffic in one direction throughout the store. The registers are screened and every other one is operated. The lines are long right no, but seem to efficiently. The staff is friendly, and I was even able to make a return very easily right before close. There is a lot in stock right now and the prices are great! read more

I found the thing I went in for, an upholstered chair. The legs were in bad shape but the rest fine. A lovely employee named Caring helped me fix it with a furniture pen and then took som off the price for the damage. She was extremely helpful. Then trying to squeeze the chair into my tiny car was an ordeal. I should say could've been an ordeal. Another lovely and helpful employee named Mitsu not only watched my purchases while I retrieved my car, she helped me get the chair into my car! She easily saved me an hour of maneuvering and I am grateful. A lovely experience overall! read more

Brand new home goods in the old Office Depot location. Parking is tough, so I'd park on the street if you see street parking. There is also underground parking in a structure and it's free. The store is organized really well for now. But we will see how long this lasts because it's brand new so who knows how long it will stay this clean. Huge selection and the entire space is full. I love this HomeGoods! They almost always have fun stuff to get and the employees are always so nice and chatty. Parking is easy and it's never too insane to shop. I've heard horror stories about other HomeGoods. It's the Rae Dunn sellers that are wild! Pays to go early in the day! I found so many fun Nightmare Before Christmas items today and it's right next to Marshall's if you want a double whammy! read more

Overall, the store merchandise is not bad itself however management may want to look at the quality their racks that hold merchandise and make sure that they're set up safely. I was looking at pillowcases on a bottom shelf and the front metal part of the top shelf above me randomly fell off and hit me SO hard across the top of my head to the point where my ear was ringing. I was in a rush and already late to my destination so I didn't have a chance to tell staff therefore I'm leaving it here. Still hurts three days later. read more

This store really needs help. The manager, Victor G, is terrible. I called this location and asked about returning a product. I called before going in bc the location was over 30 min away and I also couldn't find my receipt. When I called, I spoke with an associate by the name of Maria. Maria mentioned I didn't need my receipt but I wouldn't be able to get a refund. She mentioned I would only be able to get store credit so I said that's fine. When i arrived, the associate at the check out called the manager, Victor G. Who then explained it was nothing he could do. I mentioned to him I had spoken to Maria and he said he's sorry and I would need to wait until Maria came back from lunch in the next 30 minutes. When Maria returned, she is gave me the store credit. I'm not sure why he couldn't assist and why he was so rude about it but he shouldn't managing anywhere ! read more

Not sure why all the bad reviews. This HomeGoods is as good as any and better than most. It's always fully stocked and pretty organized. Plenty of parking underground. I always find what I'm looking for at this store and ya the employees aren't the friendliest bunch of people but I don't take it personal. I'm not trying to chop it up anyways. Just ring me up so I can take off. The lines move pretty fast. This is def one of my favorite locations. read more

I've shopped this particular HomeGoods for years, even though it's a distance from where I live. The staff is unfailing polite, friendly, competent and the management terrific as evidenced by the cleanliness and neatness of the store. This particular store also has a consistently terrific and well-stocked inventory. Whenever I've needed to return or exchange, they are equally helpful. It's a really fun shopping experience I enjoy each time. There are two parking areas; a small one up top but also, more parking beneath, and a Marshall's and Michaels are right nearby in the same complex, in addition to a few other smaller stores. Thus for a wide assortment of goods, clothing, home-decor and more, I find it convenient and fun to be able to one-stop shop at this particular location. read more

Wow. Such a negative vibe in the store. I usually like this store and I realize it's holiday time so some people might be nasty, but everybody was SO nasty. It was a little mind blowing. The store is full of people stocking and restocking so you can barely shop that already overcrowded store. Literally on the same shelf you are shopping on the employees are moving stuff around and stocking. don't even ask for anything, they're gonna huff and puff in your face like you pulled them away from doing something so important. There's a blonde who works in the back of the store who is clearly solving world hunger by the way she stomps around angry when she has to help somebody. I've had the misfortune of watching her work past few times I've been there. This is a clear sign of overworking, under appreciating, undervaluing employees, and abusive management, a trickle down effect from higher-ups. DO BETTER with your employees! I thought I would at least bring a Sunny disposition up to the cashier, but first thing she said to me was asked if I wanted to open an account. No 'hi, how are you? Did you find everything OK?' and as soon as I turned her down, she was just as nasty as everybody else in that store. Disgusting! read more

Good lord, the sentimentality and mass-produced junk. They're more interested in stuffing shelves with stuff rather than presentability or organization, but it's just another way of doing business. It's all very crowded and/or messy, depending on the time of day you're there and the proximity to a major holiday. Just enough furniture to provide a place to sit to have some quality time with your phone while your S.O. shops -- a win-win. Then you get to go get Ventura sushi after (as if you wouldn't). read more

HomeGoods - Department Stores Near Me - Studio City, California

Every time I go into this store it is full of non service animals. All I want to do is buy some home decor without being accosted by people's very large pets. There was a dog in the snack isle chewing on the lower bags when the owner turned her head. Which is beyond gross. I guess the lesson is only buy food off the higher shelves. As someone who was attacked by a dog when they were younger all these pets create a very stressful shopping environment. Honestly don't think I'll be going back. Hope all the pets have big enough wallets to keep the store in business because I won't be buying anything. read more

I love Home Goods's selection and styles, but the customer service at this location really sucks. I have been looking everywhere for some pillows that would match my new decor. I finally found some that would work. After going in, taking pictures of the pillows, going back to my house to compare, and going back to grab the pillows I wanted, one of the pillows had a small rip right in the center of it. Of course. :( The first lady who helped me mentioned that perhaps I could get a discount for that, but then the second girl who ended up ringing me out was the one who went to go ask a manager about it. When she came back, she didn't even look at me or speak to me, she just mumbled something to the other lady about not doing a discount for it because it wasn't their fault and rang me out for the full price. I understand she works for a large store and that sometimes their policies don't work in favor of the customer, but the least that she could've done was communicate with me. I work in retail too and I would never ever ever be allowed to treat a person like that at my job. I would get in super trouble. Just left a bad taste in my mouth. read more

Dear home good cashiers. Please take this review very seriously. Don't manipulate your customers in a sneaky way and sell them credit cards. Tell them upfront to their face that you're offering a credit card! Yes it's called a Rewards Card. Most rewards cards like Ralph's, CVS, etc are linked to your phone number and accumulate points. This "rewards card" is also a "credit card" do mention this important part of the offer. Especially when you see your customer is a bit challenged with the English language. Don't be a cashier turned into a credit card salesman. Nothing wrong with offering. But what is wrong is that misleading a customer making them think it's a rewards card read more

We've been to this HomeGoods several times and have even bought things from it but the customer service is just outright terrible. The staff is okay but the manager, Carlos, was so rude I had to get on this app to rant. I asked about the price of an item and he came at me somewhat hostile telling me the price I had in mind was completely wrong and I shouldn't just assume things. Horrible customer experience. Every employee I encountered was rude and not helpful in any way. Only one cashier for the long line, walked up with my friend to make separate purchases, didn't call for backup until much later. When the other cashier finally opened up, as the first person waiting to check out I walked up. The woman was rude and insisted that I walk to the back of the line to wait again AFTER ALREADY WAITING. Clearly don't know how to have decent human interactions, nor the ability to give good quality service. read more

I was very disappointed at the lack of professionalism and lack of communication at this store. If I could give them a negative one star, I would. I had an incident today that no store should ever allow their customers to experience. There is no leadership or communication between staff members and managers at this HomeGoods branch. They held a table for me when I entered the store, and I successfully purchased the table. As I was getting ready to have the table loaded to my car, a staff member refused to help me do so even though I showed them my validated receipt. They claimed that another shopper (who seemed like she was associated with or had a connection with store management upon my interaction with her) "had held the item in advance" even though her name was not on the item and the item was up for grabs in the middle of the store. They made me return the item even though there was ZERO evidence that the shopper had held or purchased the item. Save yourself the stress and make the BETTER choice to shop ELSEWHERE if you would like to leave with the products you have chosen and paid for. WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT! read more

As a Christmas present to my wife, I decided to redecorate our entire bedroom. We found these beautiful French Connection sheer drapes at your Studio City location and purchased them earlier this week. We came back to this location later and purchased a second set. Realizing we would need a third set, we scoured EVERY location in the valley, 4 different stores total. Late last night, at the Granada Hills location, we found a set of drapes that were packaged in the French Connection boxing. They were not the same sheer ones we were searching for but we reasoned that we could make the velvet material work since they are the same color. Once home, we quickly realized we had been duped somehow as the drapes were not as long as stated on the packaging. We came today to our local store in Studio City to return the items. We let our kind cashier, Mary, know that the product must have been repackeged incorrectly and the details of our debacle. We hoped to spare a future shopper of our same experience. Mary informed us that we couldn't do the return and needed to take the items back to the original store. We were understandably confused about this. We made no error in our own shopping and sought to save face for HomeGoods by alerting them of this mistake. The manager, James, came over and rudely reinforced what Mary had already told us. Not only was James rude, but he spoke to my wife and I as though we had committed this switch of product, essentially accusing us of wrongdoing. Eventually, he decided he couldn't be bothered with us any longer and with a tone that was dripping in condensation- accommodated our return. I can't begin to understand why we should be burdened with driving across the valley to complete our return. This experience has shown me that HomeGoods does not have the good of the customer at heart and as such I will be reevaluating my shopping practice. It's a shame because the product offering is incomparable but the customer service policies have a huge opportunity for growth. read more

On store said it opens at 10 on Sunday- we can on time and they actually open at 11. Misleading...... not nice.

I've gone to this HomeGoods quite a lot ever since it opened because it's the closest one, and overall had ok experiences finding things even though it's one of the smaller locations. I went there last Saturday and whoever the manager was that day gave me the worst most alienating experience I've ever had at any retail store. The lady who rang me up (who was Latina) was very nice and helpful, but as soon as she started ringing me up, the woman manager who was watching next to her (out loud in front of me) told her to check through all the pillows I was buying to make sure I wasn't stuffing anything in them to steal. Ok, whatever check the pillows to give you peace of mind that I wasn't stealing anything. After checking them, my cashier starts to ring up a pack of towels I was getting. Again, the woman manager, out loud in front of me, tells my cashier to check between all the towels to make sure I wasn't stealing anything again. This second time I was getting annoyed, and my cashier and I shared a glance because she knew I wasn't stealing anything, but had to go through the motions of checking the towels because her boss was watching. Ok, nothing was found because I wasn't stealing anything. Then, the manager tells the cashier to not forget to ring up the pillows I had stuffed in the rack underneath the shopping cart. Mind you, I was buying 8 pillows and 12 towels that day, so my cart was quite overflowing. This is where I get really bothered because I hadn't even finished giving my cashier the items inside my cart to ring up the pillows at the bottom rack, before the manager assumes for a third time that I'm trying to steal something. My cashier, in my and her defense, told the manager that she saw them and was going to ring them up but she hasn't gotten to them yet. The manager's response was to say that she wanted to make sure she rung the pillows up before I walked out with them...For real????? My cashier and I shared another bothered glance, this time because we both knew the manager was completely out of line. Like, don't they go over loss prevention practices during employee training and orientation? Does the manager not have enough faith in employee training that she has to tell her employees to check all pillows and towels to make sure people aren't stealing, in front of the people that are buying those pillows and towels? Or, was she telling her brown employee (my cashier) how to do her job to make sure the brown customer (me) wasn't stealing anything? It seemed like my cashier was newer, but she really didn't deserve to be treated like she didn't know what she was doing, even though she was perfectly capable and was able to keep her composure under verbal intimidation from her manager. I also don't appreciate the racism the manager showed toward her 'incompetent' Latina employee and 'thieving' Asian customer. My words describing the managers actions considering she didn't act this way to the other non-brown employees and non-brown customers. Come on HomeGoods, is this the best manager you can find? Can you get her some racial bias training? read more
