I hired HomeShield, based on good Yelp reviews, because my townhouse complex had rats in the attics. I have rarely dealt with a company with such poor communication skills and that is so incredibly disorganized; Pam, the inspector, was good and responsive, but the rest of the crew, including Mike, the supervisor, ranged from adequate to incompetent. And they charged my credit card in full before completing the work. When I said I wouldn't pay until the work was completed, I was told there was no way to back out the charge. Luckily, my credit card company agreed to my disputing the charge. One of the technicians was a no-show for an appointment the first time, and the second time didn't have instructions on what he was supposed to do and didn't have any bait! The inspector said the company would plug a hole under the kitchen sink; the technician said it didn't need to be done. The company rescheduled work for the day before Thanksgiving without checking to see if we were available, and then told me they would be out on December 27; again, without checking to see if we were available. I would have given HomeShield just one star, but since Mike did agree that since they never finished the work, they would refund my money and did so, I raised the ratinge to two stars. read more

Adjusting this review as the company took quick action after it was posted to communicate and resolve the matter, aka sent agent over immediately to spray. Zach deserves a bonus or promotion for his level of efficiency, effectiveness, and professionalism. We signed up for the annual spray program. For our first spray, we were able to be scheduled quickly with great communication: was told a time frame that they would show up, got a text a hour before they would arrive, sprayed the house. We were told that the ants should be gone within two weeks. The ants were gone...till two weeks later we had 100s of ants in the living room / kitchen area again so not sure how effective this is. Regardless, it fell under their warranty so we called to get this dealt with and were able to get an appointment to come same day of the infestation from 8-12. They did not show up in the allotted timeframe and did not communicate that they would be late. I understand that schedules needed to flexible and things happen (i.e. I moved my work schedule to accommodate the communicated time) but the lack of communication for the follow up spray is a huge issue. Timeline of events -We called at 7 am, left messages but did not get a call back. -Called again at 8:14 - was able to get a hold of someone and got scheduled for 8-12. -Called again at 10:53 since we did not get a text, the agent told us they were unable to get a hold of the technical and that they gave our info directly to the technician -Called again at 12:01 and got the same message that they were unable to get a hold of the technical and that they gave our info directly to the technician As of now, we still have not received communication from the company. It does feel like a bait and switch for getting us to sign up for a year of spray. read more

So far so good. This is a first impression review. I have mice or small rats in my yard. I have not minded them for over 20 years. But, recently i started hearing scratching sounds in my living room ceiling -- the space between my first and second floors. I called around and checked reviews and the HomeShield people - Jeff on the phone and Eric on site at my house - answered my questions and provided a solution. The plan is to use bait stations on the outside to motivate the rodents out of my house. The bait does kill them, but does not cause a secondary issue - if an owl or cat or dog get to the dead mouse, they are not poisoned also. After all the noises stop inside my house, (I have not heard a peep in days), then they will check the whole thing to locate and seal any possible entry points. This is actually done by a second group. Eric provided the referral to the second group and they have reached out. In addition, rodent control also includes de-cobwebbing and eco spraying for spiders and ants. Though this has not been a problem. read more

We contacted couple of vendors to eliminate roach infestation in our home and based on available dates went ahead with homeshield pest control. They provided time slot 8 to 12 PM for first time and reached home around 8 AM in the morning. For the 2nd time provided the same time slot. So we are waiting from 8 AM onwards but reached around 12 PM. After 2 services we did not see any roaches. read more

Aaron did an outstanding job with our home pest control. He used a specialized treatment for German roaches, including a targeted spray, food gel, and traps. The kitchen had a severe infestation left by the previous tenants, with roaches everywhere. However, after just 3-4 treatments, the situation improved dramatically. One of the branch managers, José, came out to see me and we had a great conversation about my expectations as well as theirs. I can see that Jose loves what he does and was dismayed by my prior experience. He took care of everything I requested, and then some, and said he would take pictures for training material so it didn't happen again or to someone else. They really do stand by 100% satisfaction, even refunded me my money that I had been charged up to that point. Afterwards, I have had a couple of follow up calls from Luis to confirm evrything was good and I was happy with the service. We had a third party who did not complete the job on our backyard door; and did a sloppy job on the garage door shields. The third party used long screws that went through the garage door and did not even clean it up to make it look nice. The screws were sticking out it looked unprofessional. Karter took initiative and moved the wire barriers into the interior of the garage doors vs. the exterior which made the front of the home more aesthetically pleasing. He also caulked the outside as the third party made uneven and sloppy holes on the exterior of the garage. Karter came and made the necessary repairs on the backyard door, and went above and beyond the job requested. He fixed the weather stripping, as well as the deadbolt lock; so that it would efficiently keep the pests and bugs from coming in. I appreciated Karter's explanation of what he was doing, and he replied to my multiple questions and concerns. I will definitely recommend HomeShield to friends and family. Well I called for an Ant and Spider problem, like they just took over the house. You literally could just be sitting watching tv and a spider would just drop down on you, just disrespectful Then trails of Ants were crawling everywhere, so we know what the spiders were eating. Carlos came and put some stuff down and the Ants came one day and disappeared, I don't know where all those little bastards went, its suspicious!! But as long as they left my house I do not care I was skeptical but it really worked. So yes I recommend them, also their price is reasonable! read more

What a disorganized company! First time using this company and they scheduled for a service, no one showed up on the day of! I called to find out the status and was told that the driver had reached his limit for the number of hours they can work. Yet, no one bothered to call to let me know. They rescheduled me for another day. Guess what, the technician called on day I was scheduled to reschedule for another day stating they were overbooked and wouldn't be able to make it. I was scheduled for next day again. And just now I got a call again that they want to reschedule since they don't work in my area! WHAT???? I am so done with their rescheduling business. With a 1 year old who is learning how to eat floor is basically is an open buffet for ants. I have reached out to multiple companies and they were most responsive, open about the process, pricing. in the first visit Kenneth was on time, clear on what he will do and what will happen once the treatment is done. he treated the inside and the outside of the house. cleaned the spider webs. We have set up a follow up visit (standard procedure) the day before the visit i have realized i have drain flies i have called them and they were really responsive.
