Their technician cracked two holes in our underground sprinkler system, and now we're dealing with not only cracked pipes, but a flooded lawn. Our water bill for one month skyrocketed to nearly $400, which they said they would cover. To make matters worse, the plumber they supposedly scheduled was a no-show, and their management has completely ignored my calls and emails since agreeing to the payment and doing nothing to make the situation right Thr plumber still has yet to come. Overpriced, horrible quality service. We have been a customer for almost 7 years and initially the service was great but still overpriced. However, the quality of the service people has gone downhill. We called about several pest issues the last few times. Not only did they not treat the problem, the most recent time the person was here for a total of 9 minutes. Did not rid of the bugs or try as we incurred damage to our house from his poor excuse for an attempt at doing so. He damaged our walls, left a mess because he said he forgot shoe covers, and damaged our ceiling from when he was in the attic and stepped on unsupported floor. At the end, I had to ask him to walk around the outside of the house as well. He did not even fully do so, because we have security cameras up and can see he did not. I used Home Team Pest Control for many years. They've changed their services for the coming year to only checking the bait stations once a year but did not adjust their pricing. I had been getting station checks quarterly, and they switched to yearly. All well and good but your pricing needs to adjust as well as your service. I did find that not all of the East Cooper area was going to yearly checks. I had expressed to them that I wanted to continue with quarterly checks but was denied. Also, every time they came they marked something new on my inspection...as if they're looking for something not to cover if termites are found...just didn't feel I could trust them anymore! read more

These people are exaggerating big time rising their rates 20%. I get it there is inflation in this country in the last six months like you have never seen it before but it doesn't amount to 20% They leave us no option but to cancel the subscription and to be honest I wasn't thrilled about them injecting chemicals in my walls. 20% may backfire to them if they lose more customers. The Consumer Price Index climbed 7.5% from a year ago, it is bad but that is not near the 20% they are adjusting I still think their employees do a good job but not to the tune of a 20% increase from one month to the next. I've been with HTPD for 4 years, and frankly I'm embarrassed that I haven't reviewed them. Let me tell you how awesome this team is... Every 3 months I get an email reminding me of a visit, and if I just manage the gate, they will treat if I'm there or not. (No Bull there. I have Ring Camera coverage that confirms the visit. The Tech: inspects and treats my termite traps; sprays around the foundation for additional protection and other critter control, walks the grounds to be sure no Fire Ants are mounding, then pumps my TREX System so I'm protected between the walls. The result are as follows: quick death to the Fire Ants, NEVER seen a termite or suspected damage, have no inside pests (roaches, spiders or any other pests (except Squirrels, and No One can outsmart a Squirrel)! Bottom line is there are pest control agents, and then there are "Superior Pest Control Agents"! HomeTeam Pest Defense is clearly the latter. Highly recommend! read more

This company has terrible communication. There is no information about upcoming services or inquiries about if the services are still desired. Then they tell you as the customer you have to request the services are cancelled but they don't provide any proactive information about when they will be coming to your residence! Most recently I moved from the property where I had HTPD services. I emailed them to tell them I moved and to cancel the service or transfer to the new homeowner. I then spoke to a woman from HTPD on the phone who said "No problem, we'll take care of this." NOW I am receiving collections notices in the mail from services for a property that I haven't owned in 6 months! Terrible communication, poor customer service, and way over priced for value. FYI - you can get all the termite prevention supplies and do it yourself for a fraction of the price. read more

I've had them for pest control for 3 years. I have wasps & roaches that they can't seem to control. I can't find out why they can't because they don't answer their phone. It rings & you get out on automatic hold, for 20 seconds, then disconnects. I got through once & was told there is nothing they can do about it. Also told they'd call me back, never did. We have dealt with Home Team twice now since moving into our home and each time the technician showed up to our home with no appointment, the company made no attempt to contact us via mail or phone call to alert us they were coming or that anything was needed from us. The first time I called to ask why I wasn't contacted that they would be coming out and the excuse was "Well we didn't have any way to contact you after you bought the home besides mail." So why was nothing mailed to us to notify us of an appointment or to expect a technician? Because of poor communication and technician customer service we will no longer use Home Team. read more

First, in e-mail, the company stated that I was incorrect, and the work was done; because they had GPS of the technician near my home on that day. I responded that he didn't show up on any of my security cameras. Then, they responded that I was correct, but the work wasn't done because it was raining, and they wanted to make things right by scheduling another day for him to come out and do the work. This is a really amazing local pest control company that's honest, fair priced, efficient and thorough. We have their service plan that comes every three months, and I feel like we need it because I start seeing bugs again right before they're scheduled to come. They have an awesome military discount I think it's 15% off or so maybe 10%. They had some trouble with my autopay at first but they got it all figured out. They accidentally charged me twice but they applied the additional charge to my next service as I told them I'd rather do that than a refund. They come for inside treatments if you request but the last couple I've just had them treat outside when I wasn't home. If you have an issue and are on the service plan they will come and check things out even if it's before three months. They're great with customer service phone calls as well, always pleasant and answer immediately. You don't have to go through a bunch of computerized prompts to get a person. I will definitely be keeping my service plan with Home Team. Side note if your crawl space isn't tall enough they can't treat your home for termites so unfortunately I need a different company for that. I believe it has to be two feet tall for them to treat anything below is against their policy. So older homes like mine they can't treat. read more

That technician was also always pleasant and thorough. Our house now doesn't have the tubes, but we had such a great experience with them that we transferred our service. I called to request a pest inspection as a requirement for a home refi and to ask how much it would cost. I was told that they only do inspections for customers who already have accounts. Odd because if I have pests I'd want to remove them and had they been decent people I would have then been a customer with an account getting regular pest services. Extremely disappointed with this company at this location how they failed to back up their work. Holding and paying a termite bond with them for several years with routine inspection. Not one time that I was informed of any issues that needed attention. At time of house inspection for selling and closure, I caught off-guard with a long list of issues and scrambled last minutes to negotiate repairs with Buyer. The last bill (balance) was paid/disbursed via escrow at time of closing. Yet, they continued to send me the bill for past due and I had to call to clear it. The Billing Department's work seemed to be lacking of attention to detail. On the plus side, their reps' skills in customer interaction is much better than their provided services (e.g., "bond assurance" and basic billing). Needless to say, my overall experience was not positive. read more
