Cool newer place in Glencoe/Glenview area on the backside of the train station. Service was excellent and the vibe of the place was great. Busy place for a Friday at 2pm. Lots of customers either working or socializing with their group of friends. Decor was nice and modern. Service and Ambiance Grade: A+ I ordered a cortado, Anytime Toast, and a Gigantic Pretzel. The Cortado was nice and strong. They did not skimp in any way and came in a double shot glass. (Cortados generally come in that size.) Grade: B+ The Anytime Toast comes on a whole grain toast with Avocado, Bacon, Tomato, Egg (I requested fried), Giardinera, and a slice of green apple. Very tasty I must say! Wish my egg was over easy or medium. I was told that over hard is how it comes. Grade: A-/B+ The GIGANTIC Pretzel was exactly that! Biggest pretzel I've ever had. It normally comes either salted or cinnamon sugared, but I opted for just butter. You also have the option of choosing 3 out of 5 dips...beer cheese, yellow mustard, dijon mustard, chocolate, and/or sweet cream. I chose cheese, yellow mustard, and my favorite was the sweet cream! The sweet cream was just like frosting on a cinnamon roll. I don't think they could have done better with this item! Grade: A+ Overall, I'd love to see this place stick around. Love: the iced cinnamon honey oat milk latte. It's a special treat for myself whenever I stop in. Do Rite donuts! Like: enjoyed the tuna and avocado toast on my first visit in. Variety of pastries, coffee, smoothie, and tea options, and there's a board posted for estimated wait for food and drinks. Dislike: space is a bit narrow, and the noise level is way too energetic for me. Would be hard to have a conversation while dining in here. No great spot to wait for to go orders. Came here on a random Saturday morning on foot for a morning walk exercise and came here for the reward. Had breakfast and ordered quite a few things for three people. The place was definitely happening and a lot of people coming through both to eat there take things to go as well as some really quick pickups of cars, stopping with passengers, dropping out and picking things up and hopping back in the car. Parking looked good because the surrounding buildings and other businesses were still closed at nine or 10 in the morning so I think the parking was pretty open and available The inside is very bright and clean. Every single person was working here that Saturday morning could not have been older than 21. And even despite their young age, they were all super nice and very friendly and helpful. Not a single one of them were on their cell phones, distracted or doing something else. What's cute about the places that yes you do order at the counter and you get a sign with a real street name from Glenview as your identifier for your food to be delivered to your table. They also clean up your table when you're done so you don't actually have to bring anything anywhere. Now for this type of counter service, I typically don't tip, but I did simply because our cashier who had rung up our order again was very young, but super attentive, very friendly very helpful as well, including her recommendations. I don't typically expect this type of service from someone this young, especially in a busy happening restaurant. I definitely need to come back here again. I need to try more of their menu. Only reason I'm giving them four stars is that while the inside is very nicely decorated it is tight and when there are a lot of people there are chairs being bumped and people bumping into everyone everywhere and I don't like that also on this hot summer day they keep all the doors open, which completely defeats the purpose of sitting inside for the sake of the air-conditioning so close the doors so people who want to sit inside and get nice and cool read more

First visit for breakfast and it was overall a very good experience! There's a friendly, clean, and urban vibe here with a large menu board and a bustling dining room. There's bonus is a heated patio area for extra seating. We ordered a bfast wrap and a salmon toast with an old fashioned donut and coffee. We grabbed a seat and waited and waited some more for our food. It probably took a tad over 15 min . The food was excellent. Fresh toppings )wow on the salmon and avocado)and perfectly toasted bread. My breakfast wrap had a great balance of eggs, cheese, bacon, and avocado with a nice warm wrap. Not sure about the side of chips for breakfast but I enjoyed them anyway. I decided to check out Hometown based on a review and recommendation by a fellow Yelp elite member. It was a good recommendation. My visit to this fine establishment was worth it. We went here on late Saturday morning. The shop was busy and packed. The ordering line was long enough to be by the entrance and by the time we left it was almost out the door. The shop's staff was doing a good job of keeping up with the orders from the influx of patrons. It was all hands on deck. The ordering line was moving quickly. At our turn, we ordered: 1) A Tropical Escape smoothie w/ coconut milk 2) A Daily Fix smoothie w/ coconut milk 3) An ice Honey Cinnamon Oat Latte 4) A Machiatto 5) A slice of Blueberry Oat Bran cake 6) A Cranberry Orange scone 7) A S'more Shookie We didn't have to wait too long for our order which was to-go given the number of people ahead of us. Everything was good. My favorites were the Tropical Escape smoothie, the cake, and the Honey Cinnamon Oat Latte. I liked this place a lot and will be going back for more. It's about time Glenview got a place like Hometown! It is a very nice, neat, modern, and clean coffee shop. It has such a youthful and positive vibe to it, and the coffee and pastries are very good. Not going to lie, sitting outside on the patio on a beautiful day and taking in the relaxed atmosphere gave me a bit of a European cafe vibe. I was excited to hear they opened a new location, as I go to the winnetka one every once in awhile. I wanted a change of scenery and wanted to go to the glenview Trader Joe's when they open at 9, so I figured I'd come camp out here and work for 2 hours first. Staff was nice and there was plenty of seating despite being quite busy at from 7-9am on a Friday. My americano was great. The parking isn't the best, as they have a lot but it fills quickly and a lot of the street parking and other lots around ban parking until after 10 or 11am bc it's right across from the train station and they don't want commuters parking there all day. (Or you can pay to park in the train lot). I get why they do that, but it would make more sense to limit how long someone can park in a lot instead of banning it outright. (This is a city issue not a coffee shop issue, but it does impact the ability for customers to go the the shop easily before 10/11am). read more

I'm updating this spots score because I've really enjoyed my last few visits. They definitely have everything locked down now, my coffee and sandwiches have been executed perfectly and the service is great. I also tried the brownie and was pretty impressed with it, not generic at all. The new party space looks nice but they could probably use that space for everyday customers given how busy they can be. They do a great job keeping this spot clean as well, impressive with all the snow on the ground and the foot traffic coming through here. Price is pretty reasonable too so I have no complaints! This is a fabulous addition to downtown Glenview. We ordered a wide variety of items for five people. We had two breakfast sandwiches, two berry bowls, a veggie sandwich, two coffee drinks and a smoothie to go. Everything was delicious. There was not one thing left from our order after we ate. Next time, we're definitely going to eat there, the atmosphere is super cute and they have an outdoor patio, but it wasn't quite warm enough for that yet. It's a great walk to location for people in that neighborhood. Can't wait to try more things on their menu. read more

They had a truck blocking the exit and I was forced to wait with my hazards on in a handicapped parking spot because I had no way out and a woman who seems to be affiliated with this restaurant came out and was quite snippy with me. The lovely person who took my order was very hospitable and made sure to give great suggestions for everything I was looking for. It's quite busy in there at any given time; as it's a popular place for friends to meet or young kids to hang out for a few.
