My husband and I have been here before, a couple years back, and went again just recently. We had a quiet and relaxing experience and would definitely come back. We did not feel pressured to tip a certain amount, as reviews describe, however we tipped about 20% because we felt it was appropriate to do so based off our experience and the price of the service. The decor is simple and not that of a 5-Star luxury spa, so don't go in with unreasonable expectations. We didn't care about the aesthetics because our eyes were closed the entire time. If you're looking for that kind of experience, don't come here and then give a poor rating based off that comparison, because it wouldn't be apples to apples. I think a lot of people review based off unreasonable expectations. The price is more than fair for what you receive, if not under-market, which balances the lack of aesthetic that others may be expecting/looking for. You can call ahead to make sure they have availability and let them know you're on your way, which is what we did. You can also just walk on in. My partner and I each got a "foot" massage in a shared semiprivate room (space with two massage beds separated from others by curtains). This massage started out fully clothed, but in the second half, they asked us to remove our shirts, which was fine, since my masseuse did a pretty good job on my back and shoulders, strong pressure using her elbows and forearms. But she was off the mark for most other parts of the massage, and didn't quite hit areas of tension on my body. She did manage to push on my leg bruise, near my knee, after I clearly showed her the sensitive spot up close (with a purple tone on my skin) and informed her about it verbally at the start of our session. She also left me with an oily face (her hands went all over, didn't even wipe it off by the end)... though it's not a big deal... not as bad as rubbing on my bruise repeatedly, even with me pulling my leg away a couple times, lol. By the way, you'll hear relaxing melodies in the background during your massage, combined with loud (and not very good) karoake singing next door which can be heard through the walls, a very interesting blend of sounds. I've been coming here for years and recently I go there once a week as I'm totally satisfied with the caliber of the massage and the technique they use. I love the fact that they use hot towels to get the oil off. Hot stones are also a nice treat. I generally get a body massage for an hour. I feel totally refreshed when it's done and it's really helping with my sore muscles since I work out every day. Price is reasonable and staff are very friendly. Interesting location for a massage, located next to a smoke shop lol. My fiance and I called in for two people and walked in and were greeted within 30seconds and were told to wait a couple of minutes for the workers to set up. The waiting room furniture is a bit of an odd choice and very outdated. We chose the super combo massage and were asked to pay first. The masseuses were great. I like deep pressure which was what I received from the male masseuse and my fiance got a lady and asked for light pressure. We laid next to each other in one section of the rooms. They soaked our feet. They started with the head to neck, then arms, then legs, then wiped us down. Then brought us into separate rooms (which I didnt like, I wanted a couples a massage) . They asked for us to be topless and lay with our backs up and they massaged our back for the remainder of the time. Got dressed, tipped them and left. Overall good massage for the price and time. These places are the types owned by asian establishments that are cheaper in price, but dont look as amazingly clean as American Spa super "clean". I like these asian establishments because they dont talk, they just massage and it destresses me for $60/90mins. American massages cost over $100/hr and all they do is talk which does not destress me. read more

Wish I could rate this higher because the massage was excellent but the lack of communication from the receptionist side ruined the experience for me. Am I being too picky? Perhaps. I called this morning to schedule an appointment for the afternoon and when I arrived, the receptionist hardly spoke English. She also said cash tip only which she did not say over the phone and I only had $5 in cash. She told me eventually that I could pay with card. I opted for the super combo massage which as of June 2024 it's $70 for 90 minutes (I have noticed from previous reviews prices change frequently) my massage lady was very impressive. She did an excellent job and was very thorough and I felt very relaxed. After the massage, I was asked to give a mandatory 20% tip. As a customer it really annoys me when anything related to mandatory fees is not discussed during the phone appointment, also there are no signs that say this percentage is required. So in the end, the massage costs around $85 with tip. Still a decent price but I've had better experiences for that amount. I wished they would offer water since it was quite a hot day and it was a long massage. But I do appreciate the place was clean and in good condition from the inside. Would I go back? My husband and I booked the 30 minute $39.99 neck/back massage last night, and unfortunately the language barrier is a huge issue here (Chinese). I visited around 3 pm attempting to 'book' an 8pm appt that evening. The male employee had me speak into this phone via Google Translate, and not sure if he understood, as he seemed surprised we showed up without 'calling' ahead of time--even after leaving our names/phone numbers and '8pm' on a paper. The gal who 'massaged' me was too harsh with digging in her elbows and forearms and my back is sore/almost bruised from how rough she was--I felt like a punching bag! These are NOT massage therapists nor Tui Na specialists (Chinese massage) and its obvious they lack basic anatomy of the body. The worse part? Another employee had no clue 'what' we ordered and asked my husband to remove his pants....for a neck and back massage! He tipped very low because he wasn't happy with getting his legs rubbed when his neck was killing him & the gal asked for a bigger tip! I am hoping the communication improves (to employees and for the customers) after this review. The 'manager' must explain 'what' each customer requests clearly to the employees. Also, the ladies didn't communicate why they exit the room (to get hot stones), which is not on the 'menu' for neck/back massage that is posted to the wall. Over due review but this place is soo good! We literally called that morning (1.16.23 MLK Day) hoping a spa would squeeze three of us in and sure enough 99 Foot Spa accommodated us and took us within 15 mins after calling. (We called like 4 spas, I know poor planning on our part lol). Any how, I opted for an hr full body massage, 4th one ever in my life.! This place by far had me leaving so refreshed. I've gone to Burke Williams of Santana Row and a few other spas in San Jose and Capitola and I don't recall feeling so relieved and relaxed like I did this day. It was a much need massage as I was so tense than I have ever been. My masseuse hit all the knots around my shoulders and back. I actually felt bad for him bc I knew how bad I was. But he made it happen and relieved most of my knots. So happy I went that day. Sad part was I did not catch my masseuse name. I hope to get him again next time. The interior looks sectioned off with curtains to promote separation per pandemic safety protocols. Manage your expectations. The place is not the fanciest, but it fulfills the functional needs. No frills. The lady was super nice but it seemed like she did not know much English. We communicated with hand motions. We started off with the foot soak while she massaged my neck and shoulders. I opted out of the face and head since I didn't want to look messy and the covid thing. Afterwards she went on to massage my arms. Her hand motion and techniques were relaxing and enjoyable. Then she proceeded to my feet. It was like magic how she spotted where I felt the tension and gave it extra attention. I think it felt so good I nodded off for a bit during the foot massage. It was just me in there for most of my service and other staff were chatting and on their phones. If that kind of thing bugs you this place is not for you. For pregnant women: So I'm 11 weeks pregnant. I didn't realize the "Foot Massage" was a whole-body deal that included having to lie down on my stomach. Upon my masseuse's direction to turn over, I tried to explain I was pregnant. He said nothing in response (perhaps due to a language barrier). So I went ahead and laid face down and was grateful the furniture piece had enough of a cushion for some protection. If you want to be extra careful during your pregnancy, I would advise going elsewhere for your foot massage where the routine doesn't include going prone. For anyone wanting to stay fully clothed: This also isn't the place to go. While I lay prone, my male masseuse says, "Take off," and motions to my shirt. He respectfully stayed back (behind me) so that I could remove my shirt and place it to the side. Facing back down, I feel him personally unclasping my bra on my back and then guiding my arms out of the straps. He lays my arms back down along my side and proceeds. Truthfully, this was a shock. But I rolled with it and trusted the masseuse. Why did I trust this male masseuse? Because his technique from jump felt like he's been doing healing work for 50 years. I could feel the energy from his shoulders to his arms to his hands tend to all my knots, and even the headache I came in with. He got all the things that needed care from my forehead to my toes. I come here often for a relaxing foot massage, but I recently was in a bad car accident and had some internal bruising on my chest, and intense soreness in my upper back. ** 3.5 star experience for me As many of the reviews mention, the lady in the front does not speak English, and the credit card machine has a $2 processing fee. There is a weird moth-like smell when you walk in. Once you get over all of that, your experience will be fine. For such a small storefront, they have quite a few massage beds in the back. I walked in ~10PM on a Monday night and at least 80% of the foot massage beds were filled. They look to have around 4 full body massage rooms, and approximately 8-10 foot massage beds so I doubt they're ever all used at once so reservations are likely easily made here. The price, of course, is unbeatable. And the massage wasn't the BEST, but it was pretty up there. I would come again, for the price, as the masseuses are all quite nice, and their pressure and the massage was above average. However, the storefront definitely needs more work, some softer towels to avoid sandpapering my skin would be nice, and some soundproofing from the karaoke bar next door is necessary to avoid a weird ambiance. read more

But they had another lady to help me. The second lady was good as well. Both time my friend and I was knocked out during the foot rub. First they massage your upper body with you laying on your back while your feet is soaking in some warm water, then they massage your upper body once they're done with that step next comes the amazing foot rub for about 30 mins. After the foot massage they ask you to turn over and take off your shirt off and lay on your chest. Once your laying on your chest they unhook your bra and oil you up and give you another 20 min back massage. Took all my knots out of my neck! Wandered into this place for a few reasons. First, it had awesome reviews (specifically "best foot massage ever"). Secondly, they were open late until 11pm. The gentleman that did my massage was aggressive. I literally felt like I was getting beat up. His hands were rough, and he used minimal lotion for the massage. Not a fun experience. I had to get another massage the next day to heal me from this one! Foot massage itself was the best part of this experience. Other parts of it, I wish I could say were better. Side note. It is true that the bar next door was distracting. I wouldn't say it was in a sketch area because I didn't feel unsafe per se... but it was definitely weird.
