Well, starting with the negative - the ambience isn't great - it's probably more of a take out place, but, to be honest, I'm fine with it because everything else was (is?) wonderful. The food is great - reasonably priced and tasty. Their potato salad and cole slawis exceptional (didn't like the pasta salad but I don't like peppers). The staff are extremely accomodating - we traveled a long distance to check them out and want to return frequently, it's only the time factor that prevents us from doing so. Ordered lunch from here to go. Had the italian sub which was average. It was long and well worth your money. It was packed mostly with ham and felt it was too salty overall. I made 3 meals out of 1 big sub. Good to try at least once. If we order here again, I'd get something else. read more

I called in an order earlier today for 4 of us. There were 4 separate sandwiches so I wrote everything down to make sure it was accurate on my end. The person on the other end repeated everything to me so I assumed they recorded it correctly...they didn't. I arrived 20 minutes later and was told I'd have to wait another 15 minutes. While I was waiting 3 people in front of me ordered and got served. I got back home and 3 out of the 4 sandwiches were wrong. I called to voice my concerns and was hung up on in the middle of speaking. I get that it was a busy day during lunchtime, but the rudeness and inaccuracy of a simply task is what irks me the most. Food here is neither great nor bad. Fairly priced, comes out in good time. When I went I had the italian chicken cutlet hero which based on the description made me think it would be much tastier with the garlic bread, vinegar, and capicola, but it only ended up tasting more like a regular ol' chicken cutlet sandwich. I recall I also tried the french dip, which similarly was kinda plain. Nothing was inedible or terrible but like mentioned earlier, not great either. The coleslaw is amazing here. My sandwhich was good also. I want to come back so bad, however, my friend alsp purchased a sandwhich and found a long string hair in her sandwhich. Poor portions, ordered their Hamilton, costs the same as their subs, but when it arrived it was the size of my palm and had about a single piece of deli, cold roast beef on each side. Should have cost half or come with more. All I can do is shake my head at the amount of Starthis place has. When you go in all u hear is the sound of microwave buttons being pressed. Anything you get that is hot is microwaved. Long wait times, even for pickup orders. The sandwiches are disappointing, the service is familiar to the point of being very rude. I tried this place the other day. I had a coupon and ordered two subs. First sub was an italian sub w everything and mayo second was cheesesteak. They gave me the Italian sub first. I bit into it and thought it was very bland. I took a closer look and there was no mayo, no salami, no capicolla, and no cheese. Today I went into hometown heroes around 3:00 I was standing at the counter and I was ordering while ordering I look over to a woman that just came out of the back. And on the counter was food. Because it looked like one of the other workers was cleaning the deli case. So all the food was on the counter. So I saw this lady walk out from the back without any gloves on stick her fingers right into the potato salad at first I'm like ok just once. And also she wiped her hands on her pants couldn't even use a napkin so then she came back and stood infront of the food and just kept sticking her fingers in it and kept eating. I was so disgusted I couldn't even finish my order. So I walked out and went to MR.SUBS. What that lady did was not sanitary. I worked in a deli for 7 to 10 years and I wouldn't do that who knows where her fingers were. Gross and I wish i could give 0 stars. It's so depressing when you go to a deli in the town you live in and try to keep the local business running and you have that. Thumbs down. This is the kind of place working people love. Its very efficient, has excellent customer service. lots of seating, fairly cheap and very clean. The parking is not good and what I had was really not worth a second bite of the apple but this is the kind of place people who have an hour for lunch will always choose..in and out and no food poisoning. I had the roast beef with horseradish and a little gravy. The roast beef was very salty and commercial and had no beef flavor at all. The roll was fresh. Took out some chicken salad and potato salad. Stopped in during a volleyball tournament nearby for a quick lunch. Place is very unassuming but so good! Everything is scratch made in house and you can really taste the difference it makes.
