Had the crispy chicken blt today and was wonderful. The chicken was seasoned and fried to perfection. Like a fried chicken cutlet that was tenderized and place in the sandwich. The fries were perfect as usual and the homemade coleslaw was excellent. Great service as well. Danielle/Sunshine is always a pleasure. Repeat customer here!!!!

The food is pretty standard and inline with other pictures on this site. This place keeps it simple and I am 100% about it. The onion rings and crispy chicken sandwich were exceptional. It's the sort of experience that satisfies and exactly meets your expectations. Pleasant takeout experience with friendly service.

Pros: decent food, good prices, friendly staff. Cons: bathroom is nasty, staff sits and plays with phones while area just outside littered with trash. Burger was ok but bland. Cheesesteak was ok. Potential to be much better.

    I hope it's a good find?

We stopped for a new place to eat. We happen to stumble over this place! My fish and chips were pretty good. The milkshake was tasty. I would recommend this place for a quick eats!

Jalapeno cheddar burger with bacon cheese fries

Huh, apparently Firehouse Grill is in not owned or in any way connected to the fire house department across the street so don't be fooled by their proximity! Came here Tuesday night for dinner. Small interior attempts an old-school diner look, just without the associated vibe and wear. Two workers were inside, one I'm assuming to be the cook since he cooked and prepped the food and kept to himself and a nice RU student who took our order and brought us the food. I got the JALAPENO CHEDDAR BURGER COMBO with bacon cheese fries and soda. While a pretty good deal, I gotta say this burger is mighty underwhelming. It's not a substantial burger in that the meat and cheddar lacked any semblance of flavor, both existing without presence. Patty is cooked well done (this is a joint that doesn't ask how you like your meat cooked). It's not dry but it's also not juicy. Dad commented the burger tastes synthetic to him, no meaty taste and like there's a higher proportion of bread crumbs in the meat mix. There's too little cheddar and the jalapenos are the jar kind with a quickly disappearing hint of spicyness but no tangy kick. All this wedged between a light, thin kaiser roll with a thin and crinkly crisp exterior. For once, underwhelming looking food in pictures actually matches how the food tastes. It's a burger you eat because you paid money for it, not wanting to waste it, rather than for pure enjoyment. So if you have a burger craving, I wouldn't come here. Fries were the best thing about this combo with that addictive gooey fake cheese and bacon bits. You can't go wrong with that, though I don't think the fries were made in house and are more likely frozen based on the color, taste, texture and density of the fries. I guess this is what you get for bang for buck. It's a 2.75 star meal rounded up to a 3. This may change once I give one other burger a try and also their breakfast items.

From my experience eating there the food was meh. Wish I could say that about employee hospitality.

They close at ten on Saturday nights. They shut the lights off while you are mid-drink, sending the folks they just served out the door drunk. March 9th was the worst experience at a public establishment in my entire life. The female bartender with a nose piercing like a bull kept eavesdropping on my private conversation. She would act like a main character and jump into my conversation with her opinions, which no one asked for. Sometimes, she would scream across the bar. She took personal offense to a private discussion about the early closing at 10 pm on a Saturday. The convo was not for her, nor was it negative. A few blokes were looking for their next move of the night, all while trying to have a good time away from our wives and kids. The nose ringer got mad when we commented on her snarky remarks, took our half-drunk beers, and tossed them. Then she began screaming like a blue-haired, saying, "Get the f*** out; don't ever come back." Literally at the top of her lungs until her voice cracked. The manager Cappi's solution was telling us to stop egging her on, and he then threatened to call the cops. Meanwhile, we already paid and, unfortunately, tipped. I told Cappi he needs to train his employees better. She charged at me like a wild hippo, and as I stood my ground and looked her in her face, she invited me to fight her boyfriend, who was outside with his friends(incels). All while Cappi was pretending to hold her back. He didn't stop her from any of her spoiled child antics. This place is a joke of an establishment. I want to buy this place just to fire everyone. I've been in the service industry for 20 years, and I would not retrain a degenerate, inept lunatic who can not elaborate emotions verbally but would rather scream and scold a customer. What a waste of prime real estate opportunity. Honestly, I think she was a druggie. You ever go into a bar anticipating the druggie waitress to invite you to fight her boyfriend after her manager suggested to call the police all because she wants you to leave within 30 minutes of serving you alcohol? She wanted to do some drugs that had left her system by the end of her shift. We all saw it in her as soon as we sat down. She was mad she was not high. This is the spot for that low-class smooth brain energy. one may say- jersey trash. It must have blown in from the East Brunswick dump and made a home in South Plainfield next to a dead diner. Like a NY pigeon

Holy burger has crazy high ratings for a burger place, so needing a quick bite in the area I went…read moreto check it out. Walking in the register was closed with a sign that just said to use the tablet to order. Going to the tablet there were a good number of disparities from the posted menu on the wall, most of which may have been the same, but were unclear from their descriptions. Things just didn't match up, and that included the prices of things. The board read $3 to make a combo, but the tablet had it at $5.50 for example. The descriptions of the burgers didn't fully describe what was in the burgers as they had on the board, which we have already determined to be dubious. I managed to ask someone for help when they were serving someone else. I found out the burgers use American cheese and so I wanted to substitute. Apparently the solution was to mark "no cheese" and "extra cheddar cheese" which adds another $2.50 to the total. Add-ons have now increased the price by $8! The burger started at $13.50. At this point I get my food and the flavor is good enough, but while the menu board advertised short rib and lamb, it was indistinguishable from ground beef, and I'm unsure if I just got well-done ground beef. The seasoned fries were very plain tasting. I couldn't taste any seasoning on them at all actually, but they were crispy. When you end up pay $25 for a middle of the road burger with fries and a drink at what should be a quick lunch spot, it leaves a bad taste in your mouth, fortunately not literally. The meal was worth maybe half the price, but I likely won't be coming back to give it that second chance, which is unfortunate considering the other high reviews.

$8 for two chicken sliders, a handful of fries, and a mini soda? Count me in. I was pleasantly…read moresurprised by the quality of the chicken, the softness of the slider buns, and the crispiness of the fries. I was offered "regular or spicy" sliders while ordering - I chose spicy. The flavor of the orange colored sauce was good (nothing to write home about) and the spice level was only a 2 out of 10 for me (it might as well have just been the regular sliders). I took my meal to-go, because the location itself doesn't have the greatest ambiance. It looks pretty cool - high ceilings, relatively clean surfaces and floors, bright orange paint around the ordering counter... But there wasn't any background music or TVs - so when you walk into a place that has zero customers dining-in and chatting, it's not the most inviting atmosphere. Overall, this is a cool spot with 1) extremely prompt service - I was inside for just under two minutes between ordering and taking my to-go bag of food 2) good quality halal chicken and 3) great pricing for a quick lunch or light dinner!
