Update: The owner reached out to me apologizing for the managers behavior and saying he wanted to make it up to me. He also offered a gift card and clarified that Dimitri has not been working there for 20 years. It's becoming clear that the issue isn't the Diner itself but the employee. I don't know if anything has changed or if the manager has been given additional training. However, the owner seems to be kind and wants customers to have a good experience. While I will declined the giftcard and will not be returning, the owners message is an indication that there is a chance this place can improve. read more

Okay the service here is hit or miss. A few days ago, we got seated and for about 20-30 minutes we were completely ignored as the staff just mingled and goofed off with each other. I usually enjoy the food and the breakfast, but the last time I went it was just terrible service and we ended up leaving and going elsewhere for food. Visited this establishment on Thursday, May 9th around 9:30 am, upon arrival, this establishment was pretty quiet. We were seated right away at a boot. The establishment was pretty well kept as it was recently also rebuilt. I ordered the Belgium waffles with a side of beef sausage and my wife ordered the French toast with a side of bacon. Upon taking the first bite of the waffles, I realized it had a very funny after taste, generally waffles I have at dinners are a little bit more brown and heavy however this was very light in color and light in feel as it was lacking more mix. I first thought it was the syrup but after having my wife taste it without the syrup, we both agreed there was a funny after taste. Instead of telling the waitress, we just placed that aside and shared the French toast which wasn't too bad however different from what I am use it. Felt very heavy but also realize all the meals include the sides had this oily taste as it the oil needed to be replace. Definitely was not impress however our waitress was very nice and welcoming. My wife instead we should try lunch here as she recently had their burger and enjoyed it so I may give it one more try. read more

I went to park ave diner expecting a good experience but that wasn't the case at all. I waited for my food atlease 30 to 40 minutes because one waitress was working. Once I got my food it was cold, the home fries were not home fries at all. It was mushy with a slight char on top. No onions, peppers or anything. Only thing good was the orange juice. read more

Where do I begin, I am not vegan BUT i really love their vegan chicken scampi. It is so creamy and the meat tastes just like meat. I personally don't like vegan food but this is the only vegan food I would eat. The servers are so nice and the people are friendly. Menu says Benedicts are: "Two poached eggs served on Thomas English Muffin and served with home fries" Describes the Alaskan Benedict as: "Smoked salmon, cream cheese, capers, red onion, hollandaise sauce" What was served: Soggy mushy home fries; only a bite had a crisp exterior, all else was limp. They're supposed to have some crispy exterior and tender interior, but it's not supposed to be mushy at all. Super hard boiled egg instead of poached; there was NO run to these eggs. The runny egg law was enacted and repealed in 1992 with exceptions for nursing homes, schools, and catering events. Maybe the egg preparer was stuck in a time warp or maybe it's how the clientele prefers it here? Maybe the egg preparer previously worked at a nursing home, school, or did catering? Not listed on the menu but provided on the bread nonetheless were giant raw spinach leaves. Who serves unwilted greens in a benedict? No capers. At all??? Gigantic fat slabs of unpurged red onion. Seriously-- raw onion is fine. Slabs could be tolerable. But if you can't be bothered to salt it a few minutes to reduce the pungency and soften the texture, why bother serving it? The place was starting to fill up by the time I finished. I left a cash payment and tip. I should have held back. I was going to give it 2 stars for the wait staff, but down to 1 star-- the person who took my order is the same one who brought the food out to me. This is our favorite place to go after church on Sundays. Food is always hot and they have a great selection. We have eaten lunch and dinner there several times. Again the food and service were very good. Menu is almost too big because great dishes and not able to try them all. When they refinished the restaurant they made great choices. She barely came to our table and when she finally gave us our food, majority of it wasnt cooked throughly , was overcooked and one of our plates of waffles HAD A LIVING LONG CENTIPEDE UNDERNEATH IT and my friend was eating it and all of a sudden it jumped out!! What I got Was a Piece of salmon No seasoning on top of a very small amount of ICEBERG LETTUCE with some brown pieces, a few soggy croutons, maybe 2 slivers of cheese.
