I have been trying for over a week for a billing problem to be corrected and still have not been given an answer. I canceled their services over a year ago and only recently received a statement for something that their GM at the time told me that I would not have to pay. They never call back even though I have called several times to correct this. They now put me in collection and, even after calling almost everyday for over a week, I still have not received any information to cancel this. Stay away from this company if you ever want an actual person (whether it is billing or an actual supervisor for the services). My main problem that had me cancel their services was because of 1 dead tree, a few dead shrubs, 3 large palm trees that were dying, and NO ONE would call me back in order to correct any of these problems. I don't usually write a review but Hometown Pest Control is lucky I can not give them negative Stars. I made an appointment and the technician provided a pricy quote of $475 but I decided to go forward. I called to schedule and they gave me an appointment window between 2:00 - 4:00 pm. The day of the appointment it had gotten to 3:30 and I had not heard from anyone, so I called the office and the Representative confirmed the appointment was confirmed and they would be there. Well needless to say 4:00 pm passed by so I tried to reach the office and it just kept going to Voicemail. I made a mistake and rescheduled another appointment only to have them blow it off again. They have become someone i would not recomend unless u do not care about what happens to your property I used them for years and without notice they sold the company to terminex who is a public company--they lied to me about whteflies-- they performed a service after i had a problem--they tried to push the service to a date where it would not be covered buy the contract--they did come and said they did the service but the hedges still got worse--this issue went on and on until i had to get another company. I'm very frustrated. Someone came out on 10/24/16 to quote me on pest control for a really bad ant problem in a bathroom of our new house. He stated for the maxforce visits it would be $70 that day and $30 every following visit. He said they had a special to pay over $200 and it would cover x amount of months. He said the problem would not start to get under control until about 3 months and we will need monthly services at which point I CALLED MY SPOUSE IN FRONT OF HIM, DISCUSSED THE OPTION AND WE AGREED TO ONLY PAY THAT DAY $70 AND WE WOULD CALL THEM IF WE WANTED THEIR SERVICES. The pest control guy said ok but "I just need to sign the receipt and I would not be offered the special price in the future." I looked at him in the face and said "This is not a contract right? because I'm only paying for today and I'll call you if I want you guys to come back." He said "nah, nah it's just a receipt." That day I went on amazon and bought the maxforce granules and my husband did our pest control on that weekend. The problem was COMPLETELY RESOLVED WITHIN A WEEK! A month later out of nowhere I open my front door and there is a $30 service bill! I was home working all day and they apparently came to the house did not even knock on the door and then left a bill! I called twice with no response. Then I get a voicemail for a callback on the weekend but I get a voicemail when I call back. THEN I GET ANOTHER BILL THAT WEEK!!!! I just called and the phone number is disconnected! This company has yet attempted to make an appointment with me! They show up randomly with no notice or confirmation. I have called to question them about my schedule and they tell me I am on the schedule for the second Friday of every month...never given a time frame. I never agreed to this day and have made 2 attempts to change it. The rude woman on the phone tells me someone will call me but I have never had a call back. My biggest problem with this unprofessional company is that they burned up most all of my ornamental shrubs! I had been using them for several months and my ornamental shrubs got infested with bugs. Whatever they sprayed them with burned my shrubs to the ground! They sent a supervisor out (Adele) 2 times (she was great) to assess the damage. She told me to handle it with management as it was out of her hands. I spoke to a manager (completely rude) who told me he would call me back after speaking to the supervisor...I never heard back from him! I called again (2 times) and was told to speak to Raphael (another manager). Of course, he never returned my calls! I called AGAIN to speak to the owner and the owner was on vacation. I'm done calling them and unfortunately they have my payment up front for the entire year! I would rather walk away from my money than deal with these rip offs that do not stand behind their work. read more

This company is a ripoff. They really ought to be reported to the better business bureau. They quote you a standard price on the phone based on the size of your space- $49.95 in my case. Then when they get there and walk around, they try to scare you by saying things someone without knowledge of their industry could understand/see, and suddenly a $50 service becomes a $495 service. After balking at the price, they ask a couple questions about your space, say they weren't aware of that, and knock $100 off. Better option- buy the chemicals yourself and do it yourself. Google can tell you how, and it'll cost a fraction of what they would charge you. I'm baffled that they are even still in business read more

Contrary to some of these negative reviews, I have had great service with Hometown!! My quote and annual cost were exactly the same and the annual service has been excellent. They rid me of all the worms (or whatever they are called) that crawl all over my house (some get inside too) that are in South Florida!! I would recommend them for sure! Thanks Hometown!! read more

I've called to cancel my annual service two times. Both times I was told that only "Peter in cancellations" could cancel my account and that he would call me back. I've received no calls. I've attempted to contact them on their website and email - no response. I cannot get anyone to contact me and it seems like their billing practices are shady. read more

Have no pre-conceived notions about this company but I wish I had checked there reviews before I hired them. So I hire them as I see them spraying one of my neighbors houses and think ok they are already here how bad can they be? They come to spray my place on September 29th and I am told that because it is the first time I have to pay cash, ok that is fine annoying but fine. Now I am told they will be back every 30 days and then I can pay with a check. Everything seems fine until Today October 8th 10 days since they were here and now the front gate is calling me that they are here to spray again? But it has only been 10 days? I speak to the driver/sprayer thru the intercom and inform him that they were just here and I am not due for another spray. He hangs up on me. (nice right?) He then calls back because what else do I have to do besides talk to the sprayer on the phone. You know the type of a conversation I am talking about.....He says I am here to spray your place and I reply you were just here. He states no I wasn't so now I am here to spray your place again. I reply someone from your company was just here....He replies that was not me so I am here to spray again. We are getting no where really fast. I then call the office and I am assuming I am speaking to one of his relatives because it is the same type of a conversation. I am informed that all new customers get sprayed on the 2nd Monday of the month and someone should have called me to alert me. (shocker) no one called because I would have said my place was just sprayed. So now I suggest skip todays spraying and lets pick this back up on the 2nd Monday in November and am informed that goes against company policies. I have to be spayed today even though I was just sprayed 10 days ago. At this point I tell the young lady cancel my account then and she ignores me and tells me again I have to be sprayed today. I thanked her asked her again to cancel the account and then hung up. If your looking for an exterminator dont choose this one because they are really bad and not too smart either. read more

Very concerned that this company lacks ethics and integrity. I was just informed that I was sold services from them that my HOA covers off on in our monthly homeowner fees. To make matters even worse it is the same company that provides both services and they never divulged this information when they originally sold us these services. I've wasted hundreds ($825) over three years that I would not have purchased from them had they shared this information. Spoke with Daniel (manager) and refused to do any form of credits and tried to debate that the services are different and we get much more protection by paying directly to them (his logic makes zero sense). To be honest I tried to resolve my issues with this company before posting on line. I used this comp at because my dads community referred them. From the minute I signed the contract till today I have maybe had two times that they came when I was home. I asked and asked that they call before they come and they have never done that. I asked for a schedule change and that was not done. The office staff is absolutely amazing!! They try so hard to make things right. The big issue is the actual people who should be doing the house. I called this week and got them to send a exterminator out on Friday and I was assured they would call in advance since I work near by. I waited all day and at 4pm someone comes to my ring doorbell.. yes a ring where they know I would talk or see them. I answer the ring doorbell and the guy is singing to his music from his ear phones. He then proceeds to spray some spots around my house. I ran home but he was gone. I called the office and left a message. Now today I called and can't get anyone out till Tuesday but... I am not available till after the holidays and I have ants.. I should note I have kids at home and ants!! I paid for a year of service and so far I don't feel I got a month worth of service. I am so unhappy. Now I am going to pay a small fortune for a new pest co trip company just to make sure my home is good. read more

this place went from good to bad. on 12/11/15 I had gave them a 5 star review. I bought a pre paid yearly service from them for $250. for the first two visits they couldn't remember which day of the week they were suppose to be at my condo. three months they had to make a repeat visit as I kept having ant problems. even though they didn't charge for the repeat call, I had to keep myself available to their schedule ea time in their 3 hour window of service. I was getting tired of calling them just about every month for a recall that I just canceled my last4 monthly visits & was promised a refund by Diego. after waiting 2 weeks which I said I would wait. I am a property manager and have hired Home Town Pest Control to take care of many homes to keep them bug free. Hands down they are the best and most caring pest company out there. I have worked with different pest companies over the years. This company and the results you will get and dramatic as compared to the previous companies we have used. The caring personalities of their staff and technician is so appreciated. The tech gets to know the families of all our tenants and when to change their applications or how they treat. For example, my daughter was pregnant, so the tech changed what he used. We started container gardening in our patio so he changed the process to make triple sure he would not have chemicals near our growing vegetables. I have not had the annual ants that come each June or other visitors that would start coming after time had passed from a quarterly visit. The caring and the results that are consistent are what makes them stand out. read more

We have been loyal customers of this company for 14 years. We had interior and exterior service, lawn spraying, and ficus spraying. Recently I discovered that their technician was leaving me bills without doing any service. I am a teacher and for months now they have been coming while I was at work. Surprise to them that I was home this last time and found the bill when no one had sprayed a drop outside of my house at all. I have no idea how long this has been happening. To make matters worse, when I called to let them know, they promised to send another tech out between 3 and 5. He called me at 5:20 to say he was on his way but by that time I had decided to fire them. I had spent the entire day waiting for pest service. From 10 - 12, when he left the bill and did no work, and from 3-5 when the second tech failed to show up. Then they had the nerve to send me a bill for $1 as I had apparently written the previous check for $1 less than it should have been. Unbelievable. I don't know what is going on with this company but I have always been a loyal and promptly paying customer. Steer clear of them if you want actual work done and decent customer service. I am disheartened and sad that a company I supported for so long has taken this turn. read more
