Donna offered creative solutions to find the information, tried everything in their database, and finally, I was able to coordinate a fax between the usual pharmacy and this Rite Aid. Donna and Sylvia worked to input all necessary information ahead of check out, so I wouldn't have to wait any longer than necessary. This was during the very vast cell coverage outage. Could not make call, navigation , text, anything. I showed up and it was an hour from the dentist. No prescription there. I would have called the dentist but no coverage. I asked the girl if they could call. She went to the female pharmacist and she abruptly said "no". Looked at me through the glass. That was it. Sorry! The girl said. I drove 20 min home and awaited the system to come on-line. Called and even had a voicemail from the dentist about the prescription. 15 seconds and and address and it was on the way. I loved having a wonderful small pharmacy option so I hope they can get it together and go back to how they used to be. I have a few big problems with AA Pharmacy and they keep being an issue lately, unfortunately. First, they have a major issue with what they leave out spread across their counter. The last three times I was there, there were prescriptions with names of the person and names of the medicine in bags sitting right out on the same counter where you pay. Not only could I see confidential info, including about one person I knew, I also could have just taken some of the bags had I wanted to. It's so odd and they don't seem to care that confidential info is just cascading out on the same countertops where people are checking out. It seems so disorganized and careless now, which is disconcerting when I'm trusting them to manage medications for my family. Second, in the beginning, the pharmacist was always there and he was so friendly and helpful -- now there are several rude and/or inattentive people who will finish eating their sandwich before coming over to help people waiting at the register. If you have a question for a pharmacist, there often is not one there. If I ask when one will be there, they often aren't sure. I assume the prescriptions are still reviewed by a pharmacist (?!), but I have had two recent ones where they gave me the wrong amount, and both times they barely seemed to care. I'm not surprised to see all the good reviews from them are at least a year old. Sadly, the whole feeling there has changed so much and it's a huge disappointment. They didn't have the strength we needed in stock, but they ordered it for the following day. Most recently I decided to switch all of our prescriptions over. I was tired of being stuck in a phone tree when I called my big chain store, or being turned away without a resolution when I would go up in person. I called Ann Arbor Pharmacy, and within 24 hours my prescriptions were transferred and the ones that needed refilling were filled. The environment is so quiet and calming, the employees are courteous, friendly, and knowledgeable, and there is never a long wait. It's just what the doctor ordered as the antidote for the he big box pharmacy that is causing your headache!
