Called Dave's Appliance to look at my 13-year-old BlueStar gas range -- got an immediate call back and an appointment for the next day. If you live in Marin, you know this alone is reason to be suspicious. I've had electricians and appliance service staff disappear without a trace after making contact so many times, I've started to question if, maybe, Marin is the target of highly specialized alien abductions that only target home appliance repair experts. Look, it's entirely possible the aliens are big fans of Earth-made kitchens. I'll keep this short but, for context, the last guy to come out to service my BlueStar (from a company recommended by BlueStar as their preferred service center) took weeks to arrive, spent multiple days fixing something, cursing up a storm (I don't speak Russian, but it sounded serious), fighting with his partner (in English, so there was at least some entertainment value here), and ended up saying good bye in the end with the troubling words: "well, I replaced the main line and one of the burners so it shouldn't smell like gas anymore, but now the igniter is busted. Don't use that one burner, okay? Give me a call to come out again and look at the oven as there's something wrong with it. I don't have any openings in the next month." So, instead of calling this ray of sunshine back, I decided to try a different repair outfit. After all, not only did the guy not complete the repairs, he totally made things worse (the igniter and rear burner worked before he got here!). Great decision, as it turned out. Quinn from Dave's Appliance called ahead, arrived when scheduled, was polite and communicative, experienced with BlueStar repairs, and quickly figured out the three things wrong with my range/oven. He fixed the igniter, re-aligned the burner (incorrectly installed by the other guy), and opened up the oven to alleviate the issues within the hour. He was fast, charged a fair price, and even petted our dogs. Big thumbs up for Dave's Appliance. Some of the other reviews had me worried about not getting a call back or appointment, but that proved to be no issue in my case. We'll call Quinn (and Dave's) back for our next repair, no question. read more

Dave gave me a call back around 7:30pm the same day I called to leave a voicemail (could bit too late for some people, but I did not mind, as I was happy to get the appointment scheduled). The next day, one of his associates came out to fix our dryer. The dryer was making a loud noise and was also not producing any heat. The associate told us he fixed the issues, cleaned the exhaust line, and the dryer should be working properly. It was about a $250 house call. When we went to use the dryer, the noise issue had been fixed, but it turned out that the dryer was still not producing heat. After a couple of days of calls, Dave himself came out, took our dryer apart, diagnosed the issue, left to pick up a replacement part, came back and fixed the dryer, and thanked us for the business (no further charges). Dave himself was very sweet and I believe quite knowledgeable - definitely worth giving a call before replacing a unit. I give 4 stars because we had to make several phone calls / wait several additional days after being told by the associate that our dryer was fixed (frustrating with 3 adults and a child in the house), and were worried we'd be charged for a second house call. If you are in a a pinch for timing, I recommend insisting that Dave himself comes out, and provide as much information up front over the phone as possible so that you can get the repair done in one visit. read more

Been using Dave's for a number of years. He (and his new assistant) are quick to reply and come out and fix what's going on. When something is beyond repair (like our last washer), he's quick to let you know to not waste more money on it. I called Dave's to come to my Kingman investment house because I was having trouble with the refrigerator door closing. Dave came, spent about 5 minutes there installing a small part that probably cost him all of ten cents, and charged me almost $200. I'm an older woman and he thought he could scam me. He was successful in that. Before that time, I had bought appliances from Dave's here in Lake Havasu City and used their service. However, I will never use them again for anything. Poor customer service I buy a washer and dryer set from them for $900. The washer has been giving me problems and when I call them to come out they said they're gonna come out but I never show at the time they're supposed to relieve you waiting all day and then they ignore your phone calls when you called him to try to find out what's going on read more

I told Dave my dryer's model # over the phone and what the issue was - he was able to give me an estimate and order the part while we were on the phone. He didn't come in and do a diagnostic. He actually took the dryer apart and looked at it figured out what the problem was and fixed it. Wow! I saved buying a new oven because of Dave! The gasket was falling off of my Elan oven, and the company no longer does business in the US. They don't even sell parts here. I would just like to echo all of the five-star reviews here. My wife and I began using Dave to repair our appliances nearly 20 years ago upon the recommendation of a friend. Because Dave's repairs went so well, we didn't need him that often. Ten years ago, we purchased an apartment complex as an investment and now need him more frequently because there are two washers and two dryers that are in almost constant use. The only time we do not use Dave is if we have an urgent repair need and he is not available. That happened recently. Another repairman replaced a belt in one of the washers. However, within a few weeks, the belt was broken. Dave came out and replaced the belt with an identical one. He then tested the machine and immediately realized it was not running right. He got on his smart phone and checked the part number on the belt against the specifications for that machine. It turns out the other repairman had installed the wrong belt. Dave put on the right one and the machine has been running well ever since. So in addition to all the comments about friendliness and great prices, I would like to add that his competency and thoroughness are top notch. read more

Hallelujah for Dave! It's always a pain and a worry when searching for the right person to make repairs on your trusted appliances. I felt confident calling Dave's Appliance after reading the Yelp reviews. Dave took care of business with my old wall oven,1957 GE Stainless . the broil element burnt up and quit , and the bake element would not come on after the broil element was removed. the electrician that worked on it prior to Dave, suggested to "just get a new one" ; the problem is, a new oven would not fit into the cut out space, and I was not interested in the replacement cost nor the cost of remodeling to make it fit. Besides, my old oven is now mid century chic! Dave called me back and came over the same day. It was a difficult electrical project because of the age of the oven and wire configuration, but everything is working fine after he replaced the broiler element and got the baking element working after a good bit of trouble shooting. Dave has a great appreciation and understanding of older appliances. I won't wait so long next time to get something fixed , now I know to call Dave. I appreciated his experience; this would probably not of had such a happy result without his efforts. PS ~ it is worth noting that Dave is a very pleasant and knowledgeable fellow. read more
