Lobby/Common Area The Lobby is spacious and clean. Lobby men's room.  2 stalls and 1 urinal.   SUN -The handicap stall only had 1 roll of TP.  The floor had some litter and needs to be swept. TUES- early morning the bathroom was freshly mopped. WED- the paper dispenser is out of battery and does not work. Guest room hallways are bright and clean. Outside perimeter  There is a basketball rim outside by the back of the building.   The court is padlocked, I assume you need to get the key from the front desk. Parking lot is relatively clean.  No noticeable excessive trash in the shrubbery.    The parking stall lines are faded and need to be repainted. Staff Front Desk  All FD Staff responsive to guests questions. FD Staff did initiate greetings to guests. Housekeeping Staff  No greetings when encountered in hallways. Food Service Staff I did not see any of the breakfast staff greet any guest.  Guests had to make the initial contact. Monday- staff did not have any forks out.   They had to search and gather together enough silverware...not plastic forks.  Still stocking and prepping food area at 645AM. So it looks like the food staff only wipes down tables towards the end of the breakfast service instead of in-between guests or periodically. Shuttle Driver  N/A but there is a van Room 311 Very clean and bright. Did not find any dust on obvious surface. Kitchen is well stocked, however there was a glass missing from the cabinet, it was inside the dishwasher. What is missing is the serving tray that the ice bucket normally sits on. Food  2 waffle makers, hard boiled (shelled) eggs, oatmeal and apples are standard daily fare. SUN- scrambled eggs, sausage patty, country potatoes, carnitas MON-  scrambled eggs, potato pancake (latkes), maple sausage and pork chorizo TUE- scrambled eggs, Yukon Gold Potatoes, chicken carnitas, Canadian bacon WED- scrambled eggs, sausage patty, red skin potatoes, carnitas THUR- scrambled eggs, potato pancake (latkes), maple sausage and chicken chorizo Gym/Pool The Fitness Center and Pool are located across from each other and require separate unlocking to access. It was just fine. A bit pricey. Perfectly adequate. Service was good. Either I threw away the tray for the coffee maker or housekeeping did. They brought a new one the next day. TVs are ancient. It was fine. Very disappointed that the pool was out of service. When I mentioned my disappointment upon check-in, the employee offered no empathy nor apology. He told me that it was listed on the website. Well, I didn't book through the website. Does anyone? However, I looked. It's not listed on the website. The room was pretty nice, and clean. There was a ceiling fan and nice kitchen area. The hallways were bright. The breakfast was good. I appreciated the free parking, and there was plenty of it. The pillows were terrible!! We had 6 pillows and they should all be trashed. Nice shower, friendly housekeeping staff. Upon check-in, I asked if there were any perks for Rewards members & he had to type in my number and it took a few minutes, then he told us we could grab 2 waters from the cooler. The staff was pleasant but the room wasn't very clean. Carpet was stained and something sticky in it. The sofa bed was very frayed- maybe previous guests with pets- not sure. There was an issue with the computer so we could only get one key which was inconvenient with different schedules. You know how one bad customer service experience can sour your outlook on a place? Well that happened here. I reserved a deluxe king suite. Upon arrival, I requested that we have a room with a bathtub, so we could bathe our toddler. I was told by Solomon at the front desk, that yeah, they have that, but it's going to cost us extra. We were already paying well over $200+ a night for this room, and it's BEYOND obnoxious that they are charging for a room with a bathtub. It wasn't like I was requesting a Jacuzzi. An hour later I receive a text asking if I feel valued as a Hilton Honors member. I responded "If we were so valued, you would given us a room with a tub and not tried to charge us more." No response. So, this is now the lens through which I am looking at this hotel. Overall the rooms were clean and a decent size, the hallway carpets were stained, and there was trash in the elevator when we arrived in the evening and it was still there the next morning when we went down for breakfast. Oh...the breakfast. It was gross. Cold powdered eggs, even drowning them in ketchup didn't make them palatable. There were two meat options and they were both pork. Other options were limited. At one point I inquired at the front desk about a light that was out in our bathroom-I was told in a condescending manor by Long Dao that the master switch needed to be turned on. Later when we returned, our room had been made up and the master switch had been turned on, which I appreciated, but man, the customer service at this place really sucks. We had the choice to stay the Marriott or Homewood Suites, and we went with Homewood Suites because we're Honor's members. Next time we're staying at the Marriott. read more

A family who just lost everything they a tragic fire is staying on this hotel. A local group delivered them a beautifully prepared Shabbat dinner and the front desk refused to bring it to the guest. Stored it in their office until it's spoiled. I can only guess it's a case of antisemitism. The hotel has refused to help with this matter. Do not support this business. read more

Usually I love Homewood Suites. I'm thrilled about their customer engagement with wine and beer receptions, breakfasts, and rooms which have more amenities than similarly priced rooms elsewhere. Unfortunately this particular Homewood was an outlier in our Homewood experiences. We used the Hilton app to book and access our room, with the keyless entry which I love. Our first room was stifling hot, but we tried to tweak the A/C and see if it would resolve on its own. After a few hours we realized the A/C was in fact not working, and we had to call down to the front desk for help. Despite the fact that we were already settled into our room and in our pj's, they had no way to fix things, and just told us to move rooms. This was super inconvenient at bedtime. Regardless, we did move, and that room was a good temperature, but the bed was hard as a rock, and the bathroom was not clean- someone else's hairs on the floor and in the shower. At that point however we were so tired and frustrated, we just stayed and did our best. In the morning, the breakfast area was so packed, we couldn't get to food. We ended up going elsewhere to eat, which was annoying because this was a benefit I had intended to take advantage of for this stay. I don't think we missed much though in retrospect. Outside, the exhaust from somewhere in the hotel dumps on the handicap parking, making it disgusting smelling like natural gas, and put a lot of fuzz in the air. We were relieved once it was time to check out and leave. Definitely not what we expect from a stay at a seemingly brand new Homewood Suites, and would not return to stay here again if we were looking for a hotel in this area in the future. read more

My wife, 2-year old daughter, and I stayed here at this hotel for 2 nights during a trip to Boston for a wedding in October 2021 and we really enjoyed our stay. The room we stayed at was very clean (spic and span is what comes to mind) and had a modern feel to it. Unlike the previous hotel we had stayed at for 3 nights, my wife remarked as soon as we entered the room that one could actually contemplate sitting on the sofa without worrying about stains of various sorts. The king bed that came with the room was comfortable. In addition, the room included a sofa bed - something I made good use of on one of the two nights. Beside its cleanliness, noise levels were minimal and although our room was located right next to an elevator, I - a light sleeper - was not disturbed by the presence of the elevator. The breakfast - a casualty of COVID, as it were - was also very good. Having stayed at a Best Western and a Hampton Inn in 2021, I can confirm that the "free" breakfast here was superior to those at the other hotels. We still did not have proper plates (as in what's available are paper plates) but nonetheless, there were eggs and sausages, along with bread, fruits, a variety of juices and coffee. I believe the eggs were cooked in the adjacent room as opposed to being shipped from elsewhere. Lastly, check-out was at 12 noon, whereas most places set check-out for 11 a.m., with some even having the gall to set it at 10 a.m. All in all, I would be very open to staying here again. read more

My experience at the Homewood Suites was so shockingly bad that it is almost laughable. If you read no further in my review, just read this: AVOID!! The rooms and the facilities are totally fine. Not the sparkliest or the newest, but totally fine. The cleaning staff seemed perfectly sweet as well. My experience was soured by the front desk staff: primarily LONG DAO, and a woman who identified herself as COURTNEY over the phone. But in Courtney's defense, I think she was just following Long Dao's marching orders. She left me a really snarky voicemail though - so maybe the staff just needs to be retrained in how to navigate social interaction The Homewood Suites apparently frequently overbook their rooms. So after I extended my stay over the phone the day prior, Long Dao called me in the middle of the work day to "take it back" - telling me I was being kicked out of my room and that I never had a reservation for the next day. But Hours later, after this terrible experience, I got an email telling me my reservation for that day was cancelled. So which was it?? I tried to calmly explain the situation over the phone, offered to send proof of the booking and of my conversation with his colleague etc, but he wouldn't have it. I begged for him to extend my stay or be more lenient in timing because I was in the middle of a work emergency and he refused. Dao was beyond rude, demeaning, and appeared to be drunk on whatever power was bestowed upon him by the Homestead Suites. He told me if I didn't leave work IMMEDIATELY and come remove my bags and leave the hotel that he was going to COME INTO MY ROOM AND THROW MY BAGS AWAY. Is that even legal?? He only gave me 45 minutes to get there. I got in my car and sped over immediately - having to leave in the middle of an extremely busy workday. Nightmare. My F100 company is absolutely appalled by this by the way and will no longer be using this hotel. Our travel rep said to me, "Why the hell are these people in the hospitality business?" Great question. I get to the hotel, hurriedly pack my bags and leave. Then an hour later I get ANOTHER CALL from this hotel. What the hell could they want now? That is when I was introduced to Courtney who left me a 2 minute long voicemail telling me 1) I did not have a reservation for that day (false!) 2) I never picked up my bag after having been told I needed to (also false!) 3) and they they were about to come into my room and move my bag (knock yourself out freaks there is no bag to move!) Then she went on some weird tangent about how I "displaced other customers who had to stay somewhere else" the previous nights ... that sounds like your fault? For over-booking? I called them back, which I didn't need to, to tell them to have a meeting amongst themselves to share information because I was completely moved out of the room - guy on the phone was snarky the second I told him my name and hung up on me lol Is there something in the water in their break room? I cannot imagine what could have incited this total lack of hospitality and respect to a paying customer Please do not stay here. I have filed formal complaints with Hilton and my company which I intend to follow up on until I get some confirmation that these severe issues have been addressed Until then - stay away. DO NOT STAY HERE. The management is defensive and unfriendly. We are not complainers at all but will share this review everywhere we can to help fellow travelers. Hilton Honors made this right but NOT THE LOCAL MANAGEMENT. I have never written a scathing review before; only positives as I am a very positive person. But today is an exception. I checked in at 10:00am to the hotel. I was VERY TIRED after cancer treatment and watching my newborn preemie grandchild which is why I am here. All I wanted was to lie down and rest until my husband arrived at noon and then at 3 we would be off to the preemie again. I unpacked including groceries which took 45 min as we are staying 8 days. The room felt very warm and was registering 78 though it was set to 68. When I turned the A/C down it got hotter. I called KENNY the manager and asked for someone to come look. The lukewarm response was not at all up to Hilton standards, almost like I was 'bothering' him, but someone was sent up and I was told "The A/C is working fine." OK. AN hour later and it is now registering 79 degrees. My husband arrived exhausted and was so looking forward to a short rest. Instead we had to call down again and complain that the A/C was not working. Someone was sent up again and after an hour confirmed that it was in fact not functioning (as I said 2 hours earlier). He had to turn the A/C off in order to fix it. Now it is really hot and stuffy in the room. I'm tired, my husband is tired, the dog is upset and anxious and we are told this could "take a few hours if it works at all" We asked to be switched to a new room and told Kenny that we felt we deserved a nights credit for all our inconvenience. (It would take us an hour to fully re pack and move clothes, dog food etc. to the new room) We were told NO with no apologies or anything. "We have resolved the issue because we moved you to a new room" was what we were told. Almost like we were being demanding and that this was our fault! We literally spent the whole morning/early afternoon dealing with this. I called Hilton Honors and after another 45 minutes was told yes this never should have happened and that of course we should have been given a credit but that they could not do anything until we check out. I seriously considered moving to the Residence Inn by Marriott right down the street but we were by now totally exhausted and they were booked so we stayed. But after THIRTY years as Honors members we will be canceling our membership after this. Such poor customer service it is truly a shame. After 8 days here I witnessed the same poor customer service at the front desk by this man multiple times. I even heard 2 different customers walk away stating the same thing about the 'rudeness'. Save the headache and choose the Residence Inn right down the street. read more

So I was helping a friend. She was evicted because she couldn't afford her rent due to being a single mother , and dedicating most time she has to caring for her sick mother . This poor girl bad enough her and her 13 year old son are homeless , To compound her troubles her mother died 3 days before staying here . Yup dead and gone so when she stayed here she had everything she ever owned with her in a uhaul . Service clothes and all her sons stuff. So some piece of work who works here . Yeah you the hefty one in green. Someone working here one of the Karen's. Took it upon themselves to call uhaul. Uhaul come and took the truck on the day it was going back. I guess your employee said there was loud music all night in it, not true and it looks like someone was living out of it. Well yeah that happens when you and your child are homeless be cause your poor and worse if she was just some foreigner she'd be allset living for free. Not a white single mom Nope . Not in this country. We'll the uhaul guy jad her take her entire life out if the truck and she has nowhere to put it. No way to get it to her storage unit . So she had to leave some outside the hotel. Not her fault. Your slomey employees fault and WHAT A SURPRISE you guys threw it all in the dumpster before she even left empty handed broke after staying with you guys for 2 days and paying hundreds of dollars to stay there which really put a bad damper on her already hard hard life. Why the hell did you guys have to throw away everything she owned. It's so messed up do you people have any sort of decency at all. It's not like she was loitering... like you said when you wanted to rush her and her underage teen son to the street knowing she had no ride and you just threw away everything she had but the clothes on her back. Now she is on the streets and she and her son slept in a storage unit last night . You guys are really the bottom of the barrel. That's how you treat paying customers. I'm so disappointed in not only your hotel but the fact America can't help someone like Vanessa who is such a good person fallen on hard times. This is a business hotel and all guests should recognize that. It isn't close to much and certainly is not within walking distance of restaurants or shopping. That said, if you like to do cities on the cheap, it is very close to a T-Stop (not a commuter train) and we were able to hop into the city each day for a fraction of the price it would have been to stay downtown. Good restaurants and shopping were a short drive and having a hot breakfast each morning saved even more. Clean comfortable rooms and a nice indoor pool. I'd definitely stay again. read more

First...location convenient and inconvenient. Feels like an industrial park on the moon. When we inquired about restaurant suggestions..."there are lots along Needham Street and Highland"...not the most helpful...but, we had Yelp and found 3 - 5 great ones in Needham center. Front desk could be more informative and engaging. We requested a room on a non-pet floor because of allergies...got it, but the heat did not want to heat. Promptly, mechanical maintenace showed up and determined we needed to move. Accommodatingly, we were moved, but to a different floor. Needless to say, all bets were off. The heat was on, room was clean, spacious and well equipped. Bed and sound proofing were excellent. Breakfast well stocked and attended to throughout. Fitness room and pool are small but clean. If you're traveling with kids and the pet, this is the place. read more

The hotel was clean and the breakfast was ok. The poor review comes from the front desk person who was rude and not helpful at all. Arrived at 1130 because we were in town for a 4 pm baseball game, but the front desk wouldn't let us check into 3 pm stated no room were ready. I am a Hilton Honor Gold member so I asked to switch my reservation to Hilton at Back Bay. He stated nope and to make sure he charged my credit card that was on file at 1140 for the room but still had no room available until 3 pm. It has a bigger exercise area than older ones and equipped with Precor machines. 8 miles or so from downtown Boston at 50% the cost and no parking charge. I'm pleasantly surprised at how much I actually liked this place. The Sheraton next door has some tough competition as I've now stayed at both hotels. Everything is new, modern, and CLEAN. The kitchenette is so convenient and having a full fridge is so much better than a mini fridge. The only thing I didn't like was that there was a spill on the carpet next to the next that dripped down from the nightstand - it looked like nail polish. Also, we had issues with the TV having no signal, we had to keep readjusting the cord after the engineer came to address the issue the first time. In the grand scheme of things, these were only minor issues. All the pros outweighed these issues. And who can turn down a place that offers free breakfast?! The kitchen staff, housekeeping staff, and desk staff were amazing during our stay! I hope they keep on this trajectory. This place will definitely be considered for a staycation destination in the future! read more

I don't generally make the effort to write a complaint unless it's significant but after spending two nights at this property we felt disappointed especially given the cost of the room. The room was fine; however horrible customer service. The breakfast on both days that we stayed was the worst we've ever had at any Hilton property and we've been staying at various Hilton brand properties for many decades. Additionally, the front desk staff and management were not friendly at all with multiple interactions for both myself and my husband. Terrible attitude. We stayed over Saturday and Sunday to attend the Head of the Charles Regatta. Upon check-in, the man at the front desk was not friendly. He then proceeded to try to get us to switch our room from two queens to a king, when we declined his attitude dropped even further trying to guilt us into changing our room then having a huge attitude when we still weren't interested. In the morning I went within the first hour of breakfast, the only choices were tasteless egg whites or hard boiled eggs, awful tasting sausage links and diced potatoes that were hard and cold. The second day was exactly the same food. No fruit at all the first day and no peanut butter either day. The rest of the food choices were skimpy and very sub-par quality. I noticed very few people at breakfast especially on the second day even though I passed by several times, so seems like I wasn't the only one to feel this way. Worst breakfast that I've ever had at any Hilton brand property. (Just to be clear: the problems with the breakfast were due to the management and not the breakfast attendant.) Upon checkout I approached an employee at the front desk who said that he was a manager and relayed my experience with their breakfast. He couldn't have cared less, blew me off, then proceeded to blame his supplier and said that they were on strike. My response is that they could have supplemented with items from Costco if they couldn't get them from their supplier, but their guests expect and deserve better than what they were providing especially with the super jacked up rates that they were charging everyone because of the regatta. This is a totally new hotel, just opened up two months ago. And it is rockin'! Since it is so brand spanking new, everything is sparkling and totally up-to-date and working great. Beautiful lobby, easy check-in process, super nice staff at the front desk, great amenities (I didn't check out the hotel pool but folks in the elevator were gushing about it!), and way-better-than-expected complimentary breakfast fare. Also, there's a lovely, fully stocked bar in the lobby, too, and a small area by the front desk to purchase foods, drinks and small pharmacy items. Ample and free parking in the large lot outside. Free wi-fi. Free shuttle anywhere within a three-mile radius of the hotel (note that it only operates until 9-10 pm. Check with the front desk). We took this shuttle daily to and from the nearby Newton Highlands T station. The rooms are really great. They're actually suites, and roomy ones at that. There is a kitchenette with a small stovetop, microwave, full-size fridge and freezer, and all the plates and utensils and kitchen gadgets one would need. There's a dining area and a TV room with a sofa (the tv is a large-screen); the sofa might be a pull-out bed (I'm not sure on this). Then there's the bedroom (ours had two queen beds) and it, too, has a large-screen tv, lots of storage in a roomy dresser, a big closet (has an iron inside but no safe, unfortunately), separate sink area with nice Neutrogena products and a good hair blower, and a separate bathroom with excellent shower/bath and nice, plush towels. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. There was also a desk and an oversized, upholstered chair. Oddly enough, we couldn't find paper and pen, though, when we had to make some notes. Check-out was as smooth as check-in. Our time at this hotel was pretty amazing! The only issues to mention: one shuttle driver really didn't know the area well (luckily we had him on our return trip to the hotel); he missed two turn-offs and was forced on the highway and then didn't exit when he should have, so we went on quite the excursion! We got back to the hotel nearly 40 minutes later than we should have. Luckily we had no appointments scheduled or we would've been late. Also, when I booked our room, I specifically requested a room not on the ground floor and not by the elevators. We were given a room on the 4th floor - but RIGHT BY the elevators. I wasn't thrilled about this but, I must admit, I didn't hear any noises from passers-by or the elevators much (only once, one morning, did I hear people talking while waiting for the elevators). Lastly, one of the ceiling-mounted sensors was flashing green ALL night long, every night. I called the front desk on our first night there at 3am, as this light was disconcerting (it was located in the bedroom, of course), but I was told that this was "normal" and no cause for alarm. Argh, I should have brought my eye/sleep mask to block this flashing light. Strange. read more

I work in the ER in the emergency room as a nurse and I called them to stay there for the night since I was working a 16 hour shift and had to be back in the am at 0700. I call them and told them I was going to be a late arrival and gave them my work phone number if there was going to be a problem. I arrived there at 1140 pm and the entrance door was locked and rang the bell multiple times and attempted to call them with no response. I was there for approx 20 minutes and it was getting towards midnight and had 45 minute drive home so I left . I called them the next day and told them what happen and was told the manager will be in shortly and will call me STILL WAITING that was approx 3 weeks ago. I also email corporate office and told them what happen no response I guess they do not care!!! read more

This is my second time staying at this hotel and I never had an issue until now. I woke up in the middle of the night and the bathroom door was locked and was unable to be opened. I was struggling to open the door and I was on my period. I was unable to use the bathroom and I left my room to see that there was no bathroom on the 5th floor. I went downstairs and the manager told me that there's no one at midnight to come & open the bathroom and the next person that would be available to open the door would be at 5:30am. The only bathroom they have open is downstairs one on the first floor. You have to take the elevator four flights down to use the nearest bathroom which is inconvenient because it's so easy for an accident to happen and I was lucky that I could hold it in until I got to the first floor. There's not even a bathroom on each floor which I'm angry with and I'm also extremely angry by the response I got from the manager and the lack of service that could be provided on this issue. I wouldn't have been this upset if I wasn't on my period. Don't stay here. read more

Needed to find a hotel since I was staying Boston for one night. We had about 6 people. So decided to find a suite room which has two queens side bed and living room which has a pull-up sofa bed. The room is big with two tv and a bathroom. The kitchen come with microwave, refrigerator and all the dining and silverware. The bed is comfortable. The room can fit more than 6 people. I was out on the road traveling from New York when I needed a place to sleep for a couple of hours. This hotel was closest to me and I was extremely exhausted. I was aware I made a last minute reservation and arrived around 5 am on Sunday the 31st. I'm also a Gold honors member and expected the service to be a little better . The night auditor (Kenny) didn't seem like he wanted to help accommodate something for me and denied me my stay. He was rude, sassy and very unhelpful. Only thing he helped with was canceling my reservation. So I slept in my car. Later that day I called to make sure my reservation had been canceled and the front desk guy was extremely rude and had no proper communication skills. He was monotone and seemed like my phone call was an inconvenience to him. The hotel itself seemed like a great place but would be my last resort. Manager needs to hire people with better customer service skills and someone who seems even the slightest bit excited to be working there. Also hire someone who will go above and beyond for their guests instead of denying their entry. More enthusiasm is needed. If I could rate 0 stars, I would. Didn't even feel welcomed. read more

I was always a fan of Homewood Suites, this one, not so much. Food for nightly reception has gone down hill, no beer or wine. Room was nice except someone before me split coffee it looks and rug was never shampooed. If your staying a few day, housekeeping if fine but I was there 3 months and discovered, using a "trick", they didn't change the sheets unless I was sitting right there, which pissed me off since I was only having housekeeping once a week. Also, most of housekeepers don't speak any English at all. One walked out without vacuuming which was pointless to say anything sense she didn't understand me. It's new, clean and very friendly staff. I like that the hallway is brightly lit. The room's sound proof is pretty good, I didn't hear much noise when I am in the room. The room is large, has a kitchenet area with coffee maker and refrigerator like all other Homewood Suite. I like all the light fixtures from the main floor common areas to the bedroom. I'd definitely return on my next trip. read more

The place is very nice, and the bar is awesome. Jacqui was working all week we were there and she makes the bar worth visiting.

The Arrival to the Hilton with the evening staff was absolutely wonderful & Helpful. Upon Leaving The Friday front desk staff on 7.5.19 was incredible rude when I asked to speak with the manager about being over charged. He then argued with me on 7.8.19 over the phone (same person) when I asked for the 3 rd time to speak with the manager about the charges. I have to say it was very unprofessional. The hotel was wonderful the food was not great but edible. I would stay at another Hilton as long as the staff was not as rude. read more
