Tina C was the best hotel chef I've come across! I stay at a fair amount of hotels for work, and this one just struck me as a pleasant surprise while on the road. Free breakfasts aren't usually the best, but this location must have a budding chef in Tina! They had this really great breakfast burrito station that made me go back for seconds. They could improve just about everything! The toilet was dirty, the rug was full of hair, human or dog, the couch was so uncomfortable that we couldn't use it! The breakfast was not very good, eggs were cold, no regular coffee, and the muffins felt like they have been out for a month! And they triple charged me! I wouldn't give them any stars at all! The absolute worst hotel for temperature control. Got here on an 85 degree day in April. Thermostat is just a decoy. Either the system doesn't power on or doesn't cool. Staying here for 1 night and switched rooms 2 times in hopes that it will help. No help from front desk. No maintenance on site or fans to send to the room. Unless you enjoy being uncomfortable look elsewhere. We just stayed for 3 nights. Night 1, the smoke detector kept beeping. Husband went down to the desk to let them know. The clerk shrugged and said "Yeah they've been doing that." So we ended up taking it down and removing the battery ourselves. The battery had an expiration date of 2016. Night 2 there was a group out by the grill area blasting music and being loud till 2:30 am. Night 3 they were back again. This time they were fighting loudly blasting music. So needless to say that alone kept us from sleeping. The bed was so hard and had springs poking out all over that even if they hadn't been there I doubt we would have slept much anyway. All of the bedding was super worn. The comforter had a huge hole at the top. I almost ran over to Target to get bedding it was so bad. The common areas of the hotel were filthy, and had trash piled up everywhere. The wall paper in the halls was torn in several places. Every single trash can inside and outside of this hotel were constantly overflowing with trash. There was a pile of nuts someone dropped in the hallway for our entire stay. I would doubt they ever actually clean the halls. They are clearly doing some sort of renovation, though I can't say where. Our room had what might have been the worst landlord special paint job ever. Painting right over holes and cracks. They painted the door jam from the bedroom to the living room area and the doors stick badly because of it. Even some of the furniture was painted the same grey color with paint drips everywhere. There isn't an ice machine in the hotel, just the one that didn't work in the room fridge. The light in the fridge was also hanging down. There were missing outlet covers and exposed wiring. It's great to have fire hazards AND smoke detectors that don't function properly. This hotel does not meet the expectations of a Hilton hotel. I've stayed at motel 6 and red roof inns that were more cared for. I would not stay here again, in fact I'm thinking of changing reservations I have later in the year to a non Hilton hotel this one was so bad. read more

First off, let me say that I LOVED staying in this hotel. The ONLY reason for the four-star rating is because when I had originally booked online, I purchased a king bed. When I had arrived, I was given two queens. I was told that there were no king rooms available and that I had asked for two queens, but I pulled my email up to show the front desk staff so they could see I wasn't lying. It was confirmed that since I booked through a third party website (www.hotels.com) that they most likely placed me in whatever room was available instead of the one I had asked for. I realized this wasn't the hotels fault however, it was a bit disappointing. The young man at the front desk did offer a king room for me the next day if I came down the morning of to request it. But by the time my boyfriend had arrived, we both agreed the queen was fine and we didn't want to move our luggage again the next day. So they did try to make the best out of a difficult situation for us and I am very thankful for that! There is nothing bad to say about this hotel. My mix-up was rare, I'm sure and unfortunate (I won't be booking through a third-party website again in the future) but that didn't stop us from enjoying our trip! Everything was cleaned in the room to perfection and the mini-kitchen made us feel like we were at home. The ceiling fans in the bedrooms are such a nice addition as well as I do tend to get warm at night and not a lot of hotels have that feature. All I have left to say is that I will definitely be staying here again on my next trip into Reading! Thank you to all the staff and management, your hard work is appreciated. Wow so I've only been here two days and I can already tell everyone here really goes above and beyond to be as wonderful to their guest as possible !! My husband and I are so impressed with the service we have received and the hotel as well! It is conveniently located across from : Target, Marshall's, Weis (PA grocery store), Ulta, Chipotle, Panera, A nail shop, Buca Di Beppo, Barnes and Noble and so many other great choices !! Also they have a little shuttle which will take you anywhere up to 5 miles away which is really nice and they will pick you up as well! They have continental breakfast and hot tea, coffee and hot chocolate ( with Baby marshmallows) during the weekday. So happy this is where my husbands job decided to book our 3 month stay ! Can't wait to keep exploring and even venturing out to NY, DC and NJ :) read more

Not my go-to hotel when I visit Reading bc the other one was sold out. Staff is friendly. The beds have a rough blanket on top which is uncomfortable. They have dinner for free in the evening- but the food isn't good at all. Breakfast doesn't have many options so I stuck to the waffle which was okay. read more

Great place! The staff was exceptionally helpful, and the room was really nice. Very clean and the appliances worked wonderfully. The complimentary breakfast of Biscuits and Gravy, Eggs, sausage, oatmeal, waffles, pastries, yoghurt and juice was delicious! We didn't get to use the pool as we had to go to a wedding, but it looked fun! My grandparents, my sister and I stayed here on the fourth night of our Pennsylvania road trip. read more

Excellent mid range hotel in the Reading area. Very comfortable rooms with great beds, a full kitchen, living room, and HDTV's with proper HD channels. This is actually quite cool. I often notice that hotels inexplicably pair amazing high end flat screens with regular def channels. What a shame! Aside from the great accommodations, the staff is super helpful. They really went out of their way to ensure I had a good stay and resolved a billing error within moments. As for the facilities, I really didn't check out the fitness room or other amenities, but their Wifi is quite good. Connected with no problem and the service was free for the entire stay. Oh yeah, they have ridiculous bar specials n the lounge. On the night I stayed there, they had 10 cent beer night! According to the manager, this place is known as the hottest happy hour in Reading. Woo hoo. Another perk, the property is very close to shopping and restaurants on Papermill Road, so you have that convenience as well. I highly recommend this place. If you are seeing a show at the Sovereign Center, this is a top choice for your accommodations. read more

This is our second time staying at this hotel. We stayed here last November while visiting family for Thanksgiving and again for this weekend in August. Very convenient location to all. Friendly and helpful staff, plus the suite with full kitchen really meets the needs of our family of 5. The continental breakfast is good, and this visit we were even able to take advantage of the outdoor swimming pool. Worst hotel experience in my 17 years of traveling for work! Unfortunately this establishment had beg bugs in both suites I was placed in for the seven days I stayed there. I recorded the bedbugs in my bed, on the headboard and walls and when I showed them to the front desk she came up with bug spray. When I returned from work she let me know that someone else wanted to check it out and had entered my room. While the room was large it was not at all worth the pain experienced from the bites all over my body. read more

This hotel is amazing! We stayed one night with our pup (German Shepherd) to attend a family party. We were allowed to check in very early. This room was HUGE, two bedroom suite and clean! Breakfast always has a great variety and it is free. The front desk was so sweet when checking in and out and gave love to our dog. My husband noticed that we did not get our bottled water upon check in with his wife status and they comped waters when we went later in the evening. When we travel to the area again we will stay here! read more

Living room / kitchen is spacious with pullout couch. Bedroom has tons of space and a nice firm bed. Breakfast is included and was fine. Outdoor pool was clean, well maintained, and the perfect temperature. Desk staff and housekeepers were very friendly and polite. Will definitely stay again when in Reading. As a chain brand, I've always enjoyed Homewood Suites and this met all my expectations. I am very pleased with my stay here. My wife and I stayed here for a couple of days. It is in a great location, central to a lot of the local stores and restaurants. The staff were all very kind. The room was very clean, comfortable, and well appointed. They gladly accommodated when I requested a late checkout. There is a lot of parking available, but at times is difficult to find a spot due to the Texas Roadhouse next door to it. Overall: Great place to stay, especially if you want a full kitchen, which is sometimes hard to find. I will definitely stay here again next time I am in Reading. read more

We love this hotel and the staff that work here! Nannette is great! We love everyone at the front desk! The pool is lovely. The lobby coffee is always hot and stocked! All of the house keepers do great at their job and are so kind! If I had any complaints, it would be that the rooms need updating. (Rugs, Faucets, even some of the pots and pans) but the staff is so great, not much would stop us from staying every time we visit the area! Can't wait to go again! read more

Hello! It is important for everyone to know how amazing this hotel is. I have stayed at many Hilton properties worldwide and I have truly found them all to be simply amazing and the staff generally kind & friendly. The staff at this particular location, has by far outpaced every one of them. In customer service, we all know that there are people out there that can be "robotic" it is the way of the world. However: what makes this hotel so special: the staff at the front desk and upper management. They truly care. They always have a smile on their faces, and their demeanor always carries a warm welcome. On top of that, they are very sincere; that goes a long way, in my eyes. They listen to what you have to say and show a genuine attention to what your needs are. Along with the above: The rooms are very comfortable & cozy. The food offered for breakfast and during their happy hours is very good and has a nice assortment of choices. The pool: Wow. Nice clean water, comfy chairs. Nice BBQ in the back to throw some burgers or steaks on. The gym, always clean, nice variety of things to choice from. I highly recommend staying at this hotel. This is my first time staying with them and it was amazing. The rooms are great with a kitchen, living room and small dining area. I had the king bed room and the bed was pretty comfortable. The pool was closed because they lied and said the pumps weren't working when really it was because there was a lot of people and they didn't know how to handle it. Also there is no lifeguard on duty for the pool because it's "shallow enough." For this I give it a 3 star rating read more

Stayed here a full week. Well managed with great location and free breakfast. The staff is first rate with any issues (TV needed to be "reset" and previous guest had spilled something really sticky in front of the fridge that was missed by house-cleaning) being addressed right away. I'd guess the place is recently renovated with new carpet and baths. Nice two room (three if you count the large bathroom) layout with great sofa sleeper and twin queens. Full kitchen makes it a mini-apartment you could live in for months. Parking shared with the Texas Roadhouse has the potential to be an issue but is managed well. Easy card access side door makes it a short indoor walk. read more

My now-wife and I stayed in a 7-person suite with some of our out-of-town friends on 8/2/18, the night before our wedding. Our wedding venue was nearby and we wanted a suite where we could both get ready without seeing each other. The suite was pretty awesome, but it was the service that was especially phenomenal! The front desk agents (Shannon, Liz, and a delightful woman on night shift, whose name I unfortunately don't remember ) were exceedingly kind and accommodating throughout our entire stay (we ended up staying the night of our wedding as well). They were so friendly and took the time to ask questions about our wedding, express their good wishes, and shower us with smiles and kindness for our entire stay. I've met so many polite and personable hotel employees, but these three just went above and beyond. We highly recommend this hotel! read more

I booked this hotel without first reading the reviews, but nonetheless, I did finally read some of them prior to my arrival and was actually pretty relieved that I did reserve my room at this place. Even moreso once I arrived and began my stay. I will tell you that I was not the LEAST bit disappointed- The staff there does absolutely everything to make your stay as comfortable as possible. While they don't have a restaurant or a bar like many hotels do, they go out of their way to accommodate you. They have free breakfast, which includes a nice variety of items and a M-Thur nightly social where they serve food (it's different every night and you absolutely can make a meal out of it) as well as beer and wine. The rooms are beyond huge, they have full kitchens. which include residential fridges and dishwashers- Yes, real dishwashers (And I'm not kidding... the rooms are actually bigger and nicer than many apartments or condos). They have a convenience store if you need anything, which is nice. But, get this, if you need anything else they will offer to shuttle you to a local store on pretty much the drop of a dime and they wait for you at the door. You really can't beat that. And right down the street they have everything from a grocery store to a Target, to a variety of other retail stores- You can get pretty much anything you need. I went there for work on an extended stay. I hate being gone from home for that long and I was pretty home sick. It was nice to go somewhere where they treat you like you belong and where, when you get back from a very long work day, you don't feel like a stranger. No matter what your circumstance is, this is a great place to retreat to.. Whether it's for a night or a week or a month, business or pleasure. They've nailed it when it comes to accommodations all the way down to personal customer service. I highly recommend giving this extended stay hotel a shot! read more

The staff here really goes above and beyond every single day to ensure that guests have everything they need and more. This summer (2019) they hosted 2 events to celebrate the hotel and gave free treats to the guests such as free cake and ice cream! They also had live music by the pool, free drinks for those 21+ and many more treats. The facility is clean and welcoming. The heated pool and grilling area is a great plus. They also have complimentary breakfast AND dinner. I 've been here 2 months because of a house fire and every single day the staff does more than I could ask! A great place to stay!! read more

My 2 sons and I stayed here unexpectedly due to a snowstorm. Getting reservations was quick and easy online. When we checked in, I realized that I selected the wrong type of room. The front desk clerk was very kind and switched us to the room we needed without incident. The rooms are all suites with full size kitchen and dining area. Everything was very clean, beds were comfortable and the air conditioning/heat worked well. There were 2 televisions and plenty of areas to charge technology. The bathrooms are in the process of being updated. Ours was fine, with tiny signs of wear and tear, nothing to complain about. There was a complimentary breakfast with a good selection of hot food, waffle station, cereal, and fresh fruit. Bonus was The Texas Roadhouse restaurant located across the parking lot. The hotel also offers room service delivery for lunch and dinner only. We didn't take advantage but the menu looked good. We would definitely recommend this hotel! read more
