This is our go to takeaway place for sushi. It's fast and fresh, and the food has stayed consistent. We love the any 3 or 4 items combo and we always have leftovers. This time, we played battleship with our sushi! Their udon noodle soup is simple but hits the spot every time. We always get the spicy salmon and tuna roll. And a salmon mango roll too. Love this gem

Once again another sushi spot with nothing to write home about. I will say their happy hour and deals are worth it and the sushi is decent enough to return.

Disgusting .... Ordered seafood salmon. It was disgusting. Old seafood and yellow salad

3.5 stars. I don't have a go to sushi place in vancouver anymore, since my old favourite was sold over a decade ago... One of my favourite rolls is the BC roll, and I've been on a never-ending search to find a good replacement. Ordered some BC rolls, California rolls and gyoza takeout for my little one and I for lunch. Everything was packed nicely, and sushi rolled nicely. Size-wise pretty standard, but nothing really compares to Samarai. The BC roll was packed full for crispy salmon skin, avocado and cucumber. Flavourful, crispy and delicious! My new go to for BC rolls. California roll was pretty standard but my little one gobbled them up. Gyoza was okay - could have been more crisp, and had more flavour and filling. Will definitely be back for the BC rolls and to try some other items.

First time trying, ordered delivery through Uber, we got the milk tea, spicy salmon roll, salmon oshi and chicken teriyaki Don. Taste 0/1* All items tasted like 'filler food' if you know what I mean, they left both me and the wife a feel of dissatisfaction; Milk tea tasted very generic, pearls were on the harder side Spicy salmon had I believe tempura bits in it, may have tasted better fresh, but not suitable for delivery as it's all sauggy Salmon oshi was prob the better of the few, though still nothing outstanding Chicken teriyaki Don was just sad, literally a pice of chicken on a pile of rice with a single broccoli on the side, lack of sauce for the amount of rice Value 0/1* Though prices are reasonable, there are plenty of other choices that better satisfy your sushi craving at the same cost Milk tea was definitely smaller than others Speed 1/1* Order was prep's & received on time Presentation 0.5/1* Sushi delivered well, presentation on point, but teriyaki Don was prepared in a soup container with no holes, thus came all sauggy by the time we received it Overall/Revisit 0/1* Not likely to revisit Above and beyond? 0/+1*

Looks like prices have gone up a bit since the last time I was here, but they are somewhat reasonable. Parking is available in the lot underneath. According to the staff, there is no need to record the license plate after 1800. There was this extremely loud shrill alarm going in the corridor to the parkade elevator. According to my friend, this thing has been going on 24h for days/weeks. Something to keep in mind. My ears were ringing by the time I reached the elevator. The sushi here is honestly on the smaller side. An Alaska roll is basically the same size as a food court sized California roll, but with an slice of salmon on top. Something to keep in mind. The Korean fried chicken is fairly decent and worth checking out. With everything said, the best deal is the value combo, which is a Korean soup bowl with fixings. I think I will try this next time.

Take out review I got a chicken teriyaki bento that comes with: - Teriyaki chicken, -tempura - California roll - small salad, - rice - miso soup Also added a dynamite roll and tuna sashimi The rolls were good size and tuna sashimi were thick slices Pretty good portion size for your sushi fix!

Ordered the buy one get one through Uber eats of the salmon Oshi. There was hardly any salmon and a thick block of rice on each piece. Spent $26 after all the charges and was disappointed

Party Tray A for 2-3

Was in the area and had an Uber Eats coupon so ordered "Party tray A for 2-3 with 4 pieces of fried chicken". Didn't have high expectations due to the Yelp reviews but my people were thoroughly surprised. Definitely not the best sushi we've had but it was decent for the $$ paid. Lots of variety and the salmon tasted fresh. Yam tempura roll wasn't soggy and the fried chicken was delicioussss. 100% would order again... even at their regular price of $31.95 for 50 pieces! Does anyone remember this place used to be Fish on Rice? =P

Came in on a Saturday afternoon, not too busy. Not my first time here but first time leaving reviewing! The one guy that basically served and waited all the tables was a super star, he was super friendly and nice. Had the yakiudon, salmon and ebi oshis. The yakiudon was more koreanized, it had kimchi in it and surprisingly it was really good. The oshis were good but just a bit too saucy, not surprised. Overall experience here every time has been good and the prices are fair.

Deep fried cali roll. All delicious chickens

The food is delicious and happy hour after 8:30pm is the best. Thats a great deal. Especially at night

30item Sushi combo, BBT add-on. and fried chicken

This is a good spot to bring the kids. The combo's have good variety. Sushi and Bubble tea are good enough for the kids. But mostly I enjoy the Fried Chicken :D

First, the parking. It is free parking (both outside lot and underground) after 6 pm at the parkade behind the building. You can park anywhere after 6 pm, and you do not need to register your car license plate. The sign which stated to register the car license plate is meant for lunch time or before 6 pm. If you park at the underground parkade, the elevator will take you right up to the 2nd floor where the restaurant is. Hon Sushi has both Japanese food and Korean food. We decided to share a bunch of Korean dishes. For 9 of us, we had the yam and prawn tempura (Japanese section), beef japchae, spicy sticky rice cakes, seafood pancake, seafood fried rice, and the chicken cheese hot pot to share. It came with 3 types of banchan too (edaname, kimchi and sweet potato). It was surprisingly filling and sufficient, not overly stuffed but just nice. The food was good, tasty. I love the seafood pancake, japchae and chicken cheese hot pot. Wait for the chicken to be heated up and cheese to melt before digging in. We were given a big table in a semi private enclosure, with jugs of water and tea so that we can serve ourselves. The staff was responsive and friendly. They were able to make suggestions when we asked about the quantity. Refill for the banchan was available. Oh, and something new was the combo for the Japanese food. You could choose 3 items from the list given for $12.95 which was very reasonable. I will be back again to try the Japanese food, and more of the Korean dishes. P.S: Not all staff are Korean, one told us she is Japanese when a friend said thank you in Korean. So do not assume :p

Loved this place. Had no idea what Korean Japanese food was! Very interesting if you're into trying new kinds of foods.

The scallop melted in your mouth and was slightly sweet. The citrus dipping sauce that came with the dish was refreshing. I ordered two additional rolls as I wasn't full. In addition, I had my usual sweetened nitro matcha and my boyfriend had a Sapporo beer (bottle). The negitoro was okay, not my favourite but yellowtail, chopped scallop, and snow crab rolls were solid. My absolute favourite is the truffle lobster roll, which I ordered an extra roll as one is never enough! Unfortunately, there was a miscommunication with my extra truffle lobster roll and after waiting 10 to 15 minutes, I had to inquire about it. The staff apologized for the error and due to the wait, gave me the extra truffle lobster roll on the house. With an additional spicy shrimp roll, our bill total was $57.60 including taxes and excluding tip. We had a promo $10 credit to use so our total came to $47.60 plus tip. *Pro tip: the Nitro matcha drink comes with unlimited refills and I managed to drink 3 glasses of it - yum! **The new Happy Hour here is now with the purchase of a 4 roll ($30), 5 roll ($34), or 6 roll ($39) combo, you get a free drink from a list to choose from that includes alcoholic and non-alcoholic options that typically range from $5 to $14 each.

First off, always bring a jacket here even if it's hot outside. The AC here is terribly cold. As regulars here for decades, sometimes with mild turbulent experiences, this specific visit highlighted a real decline in how the restaurant operates. We arrived close to sunset on a cool evening, yet the dining room was uncomfortably cold with air blowing directly on our backs. Staff can be seen to the side rubbing their upper arms trying to warm themselves. Patrons near us (tables really close) also expressed discontent with the chilly air and food. I asked a server if they could adjust the temperature twice. Finally, I got up and went to the counter and in broken English, the younger woman just shrugged and muttered that the AC was off, even though cold air was clearly still blowing--surely their HVAC system has a heater. After sitting there in a really cold dining room freezing and hearing other diners continue to complain, we decided to walk out without ordering. The cashier gave a completely scripted, insincere apology on our way out. It feels like they simply do not care about the dine-in experience or the tips customers leave anymore. I feel customers need to be more vocal and use their wallets as a method of approval. I also noticed a newly posted sign saying they now close between 3 and 4 pm for staff breaks, which seems to point to obvious staffing issues. There's way too many Sushi restaurants competing for business in the Highgate Metrotown area, this one has fallen off the rails. And I can't imagine how bad management is with these kinds of working conditions.
