This is an amazing place! I highly recommend eating here. My family and I love Japanese and Korean food, so we decided to come here to kill two birds with one stone. Dinner Sashimi & Nigiri Bento ($25.95): Great and plentiful selection of nigiri and sashimi. You can choose either a spicy salmon roll or spicy tuna roll to go with it. Includes miso soup. The two rolls we ordered were both pretty good. Good size and good amount of ingredients. The soup had great flavour and came with little condiments to season with to your own liking. Comes with a small bowl of rice. Hot Stone Bibimbap ($17.95): Great flavour and portion. High quality ingredients were served. Tasty and well seasoned. Seafood pancake ($19.95): I found this well seasoned but could definitely be more crispy. Good amount of seafood including shrimp and squid. Awesome size for the price! However, the 'add cheese' for $3 option is too expensive in my opinion. The service was great! They would walk by our table periodically for water/tea refills. The food didn't take too long to arrive (avg. 10-15 mins, some shorter, some longer). The decor was spectacular and I could tell they put their time and effort into it. There is free street parking, but only if you're lucky enough to snatch up a spot! I will definitely be back for the rolls, the convivial waitresses, and portions! Food: 5/5 Cost: 4/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 5/5

Decent enough to try again. Note that the menus on Yelp are outdated, please see my photo below for the updated version! I went hiking for the day and got take out on the way home. Order was ready when they said it would be. I had the awesome roll (deep fried garlic flakes instead of yam that other places have), aburi toro and aburi salmon belly. Everything was fantastic!! Salmon belly was fatty and and fulfilling; toro (despite usually being my favourite) fell in second place (because the salmon belly was so tasty). The awesome roll was just ok - it was more sweet than anything (couldn't taste the spicy mayo at all), so it was unbalanced and sweet. The garlic flakes, instead of being crisp, were chewy at times and one piece wound up being quite gummy and tough. I would still try this again, as this is close to home and really hit the spot. A little pricey ($36 for one person) but quality was good; additionally salmon belly portion size was magnificent glad to have found isushi!

We ordered take out from here, but the staff were friendly, and the food was on time. The interior is cute with the Japanese decorations like cherry blossoms and umbrellas. Pro tip theres 15% off when you order online for pick up. We ordered the prawn tempura, chicken yaki udon, bc roll and California roll. The prawn tempura was crispy and crunchy, but the batter is too heavy and thick. The chicken Yaki udon tasted decent and they were generous with the chicken (which were cut into large cubes, I'd prefer smaller strips), but it did need more wok/sizzle flavour. Perhaps it would have been tastier to order this for dine in and maybe this is serve on the traditional hot plate. No complaints with the California rolls as my little one ate them up. The BC rolls were large and full of bbq salmon skin, which is a huge surprise if you're a bc roll lover. I've been finding many restaurants now barely have any bbq skin and fill it with cucumbers or salmon meat. Will definitely be back for the BC roll and to try some other items. Everything had good portion sizes, and was decently priced.

Pretty new gig in here, before this place was occupied by another restaurant. Ash wednesday when I came, Late lunch. For a catholic like me, we are discouraged to eat anykind of meat for the whole 24 hours, part of our culture and religion so I went to visit Isushi. EATS: Bento Box #ISushiBentoBox It comes with unagi don, 3 pieces of salmon sashimi, mixed tempura, 3 pieces of sushi and takoyaki, served with miso soup. For my sweets i got the mochi green tea. unremarkable dish, for almost $20 you get a complete meal, a meatless meal for my ash wednesday. Ever since I loved Japanese cuisines, In my mind they live longer because of their excellent diet. Medium size restaurant, and Japanese inspired decors, Very artistic, those Japanese umbrella hanging upside down by the ceiling is so nice, and the walls has large Japanese design paintings, very cool...Arigato During my visit service was awesome....

    Tofu Teriyaki order

A new go-to spot! Very reasonable prices and good portion sizes, for $21.21 (with tip and after 10% online pickup order discount), got a great portion of tofu teriyaki with rice, egg rolls, miso, and a soda and were kind enough to give me extra teriyaki sauce which I requested but didn't have any expectations of getting. Did pickup but will definitely eat in at a future point, very cute little restaurant with great atmosphere and very nice staff. Highly recommend checking out if you live in the area or are swinging through!

Highly recommend iSushi. We found this restaurant on the last night of our vacation. My family are Korean Americans visiting from the US and we felt right at home. The service was so friendly and inviting. The food was very fresh and high quality. They serve a variety of sashimi, sushi, Korean and Japanese food so there was something for all of us. They played Zion T music and the ambience was very chill and professional at the same time. They served warm barley tea and gave us complimentary rice drink at the end. The cost of our meal was very reasonable for the quality. Thank you iSushi for your great hospitality and meal. Everyone go check out this restaurant!! Staffed by a young talented Korean crew.

This eatery is just 2 months old, last week we drove by Rupert street and my gf noticed the OPEN sign, after checking out some Google reviews, well, here we are! Somehow the name of the restaurant already hints it's not exactly a very traditional sushi place, it is more in line with the "New Norm" kind of restaurant service... During our dine in hour, I saw at least 3 guys from Uber Eats, SKIP, & Fantuan Delivery came in pick up client's online order... Now about the food, my rating is 3 star because it barely better than average, basically no frills! The portion is decent with fair price. I would give an extra star if the tampura batter wasn't that thick. I really can't complain the service with only one server, she has to clean, taking orders, serving all dine in and take out customers and doing the cashier job.... she deserves a thumb up!

We waited about 45 minutes, and there's no area to wait except outside or go take a walk since they will text you when your table is ready. I also appreciate seeing where my place in line is through Yelp! First, a shoutout to the wonderful service here. Everywhere I go in Vancouver the service is great, but the server here was so friendly, helpful and efficient. The ambiance is really nice here and I love the place settings! We had a lot, so here is my breakdown: Spicy Agedashi Tofu - lightly fried tofu in a sauce that reminded me of gochuchang sauce. 7/10 Gyoza - crispy fried with a pork/veggie filling. 6/10 Karaage chicken - on the bone, but delicious nonetheless. Served with a mayo sauce. 7/10 Tuna Bomb - 10/10 this came out last because it takes longer to make. This is an absolute must-do. Crispy rice patties with a spicy tuna spread that you just place on the rice. Salmon jalapeno aburi hako - 10/10 I have been excited about this since I heard about it. The seared salmon on top of rice with a shrimp tempura running through the middle. The salmon and sauce on top melt in your mouth. Red Dynamite Roll - 9/10 this was my brother's favorite. I wanted it to be a bit spicier, but that said it's still so amazing. Mango Flower Roll - 9/10 if you like mango then you will love this. This also just melts in your mouth and that mango is just so fresh. California roll - 8/10 as great as a California roll can be! No complaints here! Rainbow Roll - I didn't get to try it, but my niece gave it a 10/10! I will definitely be coming back here again.

I counted maybe 36 seats. The interior is nice but generic enough to be just about any type of restaurant. The menu accessed via QR code. I ended up trying the following: - Assorted Tempura: Good. Light batter, but slightly overbrowned. - Miso Black Cod: Good. More elaborate presentation than most, but very small piece. - Salmon Belly Sashimi: Very good. Fresh and delicious. - Tom Special Roll Tray: Very good. A great way to sample all the different roll, all which are very good. I thought it was reasonably priced and could adequately feed 4 people. Service was very good. There are a LOT of staff, so we were constantly being checked on to make sure we were happy and got anything we needed. Overall a good meal. It doesn't classify as the best sushi in Vancouver, but I can see the quality-value ratio might be the best in the city. All the food was quite good and certainly not overpriced. I imagine the high staff count was due to the overwhelming amount of takeout orders. I would return.

My hubs and I vacationed in Vancouver a few weeks ago in late April. We had seen the long lines for dinner at Saku when we were here more than a year ago. Our wait staff were friendly and on point. They were considerate about answering our questions about the food and food allergies. I ordered the chicken thigh katsu ($26 Can) and my hubs got the chicken thigh curry ($28.50 Can). No dairy involved in either dish which I was happy about because I have challenges digesting milk protein. Yes, it's kinda pricey. Yes, it's totally worth it. The katsu is light, crispy, fried perfectly, not greasy, and comes with unlimited rice, miso soup, finely chopped cabbage salad, and an addictively delicious sesame dressing. My hubs' curry sauce was served on the side so he could pour out as much or as little as he wanted. All in all, it was a very pleasant and satisfying meal. Saku is top notch for katsu. Okeya Kyujiro is a Michelin one-star theatrical omakase restaurant, and when they say theatrical, they mean it! From the moment you're welcomed by smiling ushers in kimono to the closing tea ceremony, every movement feels intentional, precise, and elevated. The ambiance is serene and anticipatory. At the start, guests sit in silence as a black screen conceals the chefs. You see their shadows moving behind it. A bell rings, the screen lifts, and the performance begins. Dinner is a 25+ course experience priced at $325 per person. It's undeniably a splurge, but for a milestone celebration, it feels justified. The menu is seafood-forward, with many ingredients flown in from Japan. Each ingredient is presented before preparation, then carefully assembled and served directly from chef to guest. Courses arrive one by one, never rushed. The service team moves seamlessly in the background, refilling water and attending to drinks (available as an add-on) without disrupting the flow. The finale is a matcha ceremony, whisked in front of you with the same quiet precision that defines the evening. When the final sip is taken, the bell chimes once more, the chefs and staff bow, and the screens close. It was a beautifully choreographed dining experience, perfect for marking a special moment, and one I'd gladly return to for the next celebration.

Total 10 guests today. Looks like 4 more guests can be served for the maximum seating. The server came by when the course is served to explain each item. The appetizers have three dishes. The tempura is freshly made and hot. The cooked fish tastes a bit fishy to my likely. The chawanmushi is lukewarm which I wish to be hotter. It then follows by 8 nigiri sushi with brown rice - really like the texture and (small) portion of rice with each nigiri. Fresh ingredients. I asked for low sodium option however the first few nigiri is a bit too salty and I have notified the server so the chef can adjust immediately. I enjoy the Hokkaido uni nigiri the last smoked fish nigiri the most. The fresh crab and salmon roe rice and beef soba noodles at the end have a nice touch of finesse. There are a number of birthday celebrations and they asked for names to acknowledge and celebrate the birthdays. A little musical piano "performance" for the happy birthday song. Matcha green tea is served at the end to wrap up the omakase. Overall an enjoyable experience but not necessarily impressive as a Michelin 1 star restaurant. At this price point it's worth a try however not likely regular visit.
