I've been here twice recently, and I'm happy to report about the great food, service, and ambiance. Restaurant is upper mission near 30th St and may look deceiving from the outside; once you step inside the restraraunt it is nothing fancy but the service people will welcome you and tell you to sit anywhere you like. The restaurant is clean and has a good amount of space. The servers were very nice and were prompt to come get our order as soon as we were ready. The food took about 12-15 minutes to get to us once it was ordered. They have the classic Nicaraguan dishes such as Nacatamales, queso Frito, gallo pinto, and baho. Indio Viejo, Vigoron, and many drinks options. Such a s, Cacao, Tamarindo, Cenada and beer/wine. The food taste delicious.

Goood Nicoya food!!!! Used to a more seasoned lengua sauce as opposed to tangy sauce. Restaurant was jammed so the service was a little slow. Had to park blocks away to find parking. Overall good experience. Will come back.

Amazing food and the prices are great. My favorite dish from here are the nacatamales. I highly recommended Oye Managua!

The plantains chips were not crispy, they were soggy. We ordered extra sides of fried cheese but those were not fully fried on one side

Oye Managua used to be really tasty fresh Nicaraguan food, unfortunately tonight I was very disappointed in the quality, taste and aspect of the food. I don't think it matches what Nicaragüense food is supposed to taste like. The service when you come in is always delayed or if you are picking up, you are not greeted and have to make such an effort to get their attention (most of the time they are just talking amongst themselves at the front counter). Overall they've declined in both aspects and hopefully they will work to get better, as one of the few spots in the city of Nicaraguan food.

Great food always and love their cacao. Would definitely comeback. Been here about 3 times already and haven't been disappointed yet.

The place was so comforting! The food was amazing. I don't consider it overpriced since the food portions are HUGE. This was so authentic, home-y, the service was nice. Our waitress was responsive, quick, food came out quick. You can go up to the counter and ask for a place to sit. It was packed & I see why, I would recommend this 10/10!

Rudest people ever, they lack costumer service or even common curtesy. The place also smells like pee and is dirty.

Is there drag shows here? I saw performers on 8/30 at around 9pm

Not that I've ever seen. They have a tiny space for a musician/singer.

Offering a rich array of traditional Peruvian dishes, Mi Lindo Peru is a celebrated restaurant known for its vibrant flavours and generous portions. The establishment has become a favourite of go-to spots among locals and visitors alike for an authentic taste of Peru in San Francisco. Located in Bernal Heights, parking can be challenging in this bustling area. Luckily, we arrived around 6:30 PM, so I was able to find a space across the street, less than a block away. Truth be told, though - I did drive around the neighbourhood about 1.5 times before scoring a spot. The brightly lit dining room's ambiance is casual, unfussy and welcoming. Only one table was occupied and no other customers arrived to dine in during our visit. We sat at the half booth table at the very front, adjacent to the entrance. On this evening, the spacious venue was clean; however, a small stack of empty white plastic buckets at the foyer floor stuck out to me like an eye sore. Along with our menus, we were served a complimentary basket of two slices of soft, white bread, a ramekin each of a single ball of soft butter and a non-spicy red salsa. Below are what we ordered: Chicha Morada (Glass, $4.95) - Ana ordered this beverage for me, insisting that I try a Peruvian drink. She described this sweet purple corn juice as a Peruvian Kool-Aid. Her description was pretty spot on. Just a bit too sweet for me, but nonetheless refreshing. Aji de Gallina ($22.95) - I have always been curious about this classic Peruvian creamy stew, so was stoked that Smitty said that she was ordering it. YUM!! I need to order this next time! Lomo a lo Pobre ($28.95) - "A lo pobre" translates to "poor man's style" in Spanish and refers to the simple addition of a fried egg, fried plantains and/or rice and french fries to traditional Peruvian dishes to add another level of tastiness. I'm a big fan of Lomo Saltado, but jumped on this option with the added plaintain and perfectly fried egg. I was conservative and had the egg yolk ooze over the white rice (I could tell that the rice was steaming hot because the yolk began to cook once I sat the egg atop it). I immediately regretted that move, kicking myself for missing out on exploring the added flavour from breaking the egg over the meat, veggies and french fries medley. Next time, for sure! Despite the slight tough texture of the lean strips of meat, my meal was still delicious and enjoyable. Service was friendly and fast. I was taken aback when the check was delivered sans asking us if we were interested in dessert, though,...especially because I was so looking forward to a sweet finale with Alfajores. We inquired, but, sadly, they were out of the dulce de leche cookies due to their popularity during Valentine's Day weekend. The cookie monster in me was SUPER bummed. I initially thought that they had no inventory of postres (dessert) since they didn't offer any at first, but turned out that they did, indeed, still had offerings. We decided to pass on the sweet course. So delighted I was to be introduced to Mi Lindo Peru by mi querida amiga. I would happily return to continue the delectable culinary journey here that highlights the essence of Peru.

I'd give them about a 3.5 out of 5. On a good day, they come out with that perfect golden-brown finish. On a bad day, they look and taste undercooked to the point where I've had to throw them back on the stove at home just to make them edible. The ambiance doesn't do much to help. It's your typical Mission-style Latin restaurant, kind of sticky and worn-in, but in a way where you can't quite tell if it's part of the aesthetic or just a lack of upkeep. Now, let's get into why this leans closer to a one-star experience. The staff consistently come off like they'd rather be anywhere else. They don't smile and often come across as rude. Timing is basically a suggestion here. If you place a takeout order, plan well ahead, at least 45 to 60 minutes before pickup. Every single time I've called, I've been told 25 to 30 minutes, only to arrive and wait another 15 to 20 minutes. Without fail. And in a neighborhood where parking is already a headache, with limited meters and tight timing, you'll feel that delay. Your patience will absolutely be tested. Don't say I didn't warn you. Update: Today's order included a hit inside the cheese mixture of the Pupusas. Disgusting.

Other spots I'm eating masa. Unlike many places that serve greasy pupusas, these are nicely made and not greasy. We usually order takeout since the dining area is small unless you go early. Parking can be a headache, but I've always managed to snag a spot (knock on wood). The staff are friendly, and we always leave full and happy!
