A fantastic vegetarian restaurant! Honest has a massive menu with everything from Punjabi Sabji to Bombay chaat and Indo-Chinese dishes. The Paneer 65, Paneer Angara, cheese butter masala, and Veg Hakka Noodles were packed with flavor, and you can't leave without trying one of their loaded sandwiches (the Bahubali sandwich is amazing). Its nice to find a decent fast food restaurant in an area with an infinite number of Indian restaurants. Don't expect fine dining decor, just come for the food. Service is pretty fast. Menu is a bit smaller than when it first opened but you should be able to find something for you. The haka noodles were a bit soft, but the flavor was good. Their Manchurian and Panner 65 were pretty good. They're known for their Pav Bhaji which hits the spot. Food is served a la carte and comes out as it is ready. read more

Went for lunch with co-workers. The service was quick however food was okay compared to Honest Edison. We ordered Bhakhri Pizza, Masala Grilled Sandwich, Pav Bhaji, Cheese Butter Masala and Garlic Naan. I would rate everything a 6/10. Went there a little before noon for takeout, the restaurant was empty and when we left a big party came in There was another guy also getting takeout. Me and my wife love Indian food though we don't know if something is authentic or not but I have a feeling this is probably on the authentic side. We really enjoyed the paneer tikka marsala. It's on the spicy side with just enough kick for me. Butter naan is also very good despite us eating it at least 40 minutes after I picked it up I bet it's even better when it first came out. We are Chinese so when we go to a Chinese restaurant with a lot of customers, it usually means they serve authentic Chinese food. There brief time we were there, we were the only non-Indian customers, this probably testament of the authenticity of the restaurant it's a little pricy though, I paid over $20 for what you see in the picture. Review is for the unlimited vegetarian thali at lunchtime. This is not the best Indian food I've ever had, but it was one of the more delightful Indian meals I have had in New Jersey lately. What made it especially fun were some dishes that I had not had before. Some reviewers are comparing this to other Honest locations. This was my first visit to any of their restaurants, so Honest vets can keep that in mind. Usually Monday to Thursday they have Gujarati food as the unlimited lunch thali option, And on Friday it is Punjabi. But the Punjabi chef was there today instead so we were treated to very tasty Punjabi food. Naan, samosa and rice were OK. (The menu said roti but it was white naan). Also It was not the best dal I ever had. But I liked trying some Indo Chinese dishes in addition to the Punjabi food. I started with Manchow soup, which surprisingly came with fried Chinese noodles on top. It was very garlicky, and a nice change from typical Indian soups. The raita was excellent. I enjoyed the butter paneer and mixed vegetables. Spinach with Chinese corn was also fun to try even if not something I would order al a carte. My favorite dishes were the delectable carrot halwa (i'm a sucker for that dish but this was particularly good) and the surprise complimentary buttermilk served with fresh coriander (what we called cilantro in California). I would definitely try the lunch thali at Honest again on a visit to this area. Service was also very friendly. And they were very patient with my older friend, even as she asked about 25 questions about what she was eating! read more

some items are terrific, some are just okay... it was Garba night and almost 10. most of the restaurants get close by that time. it was recently opened so we decided to try. it was almost empty ( might be closing time). the only table which was occupied was by my colleagues ( which I got to know later on). got the table, we settled and gave our order as the waiter said, whatever we are ordering, would be our last order cause, of course, it was their closing time. we ordered Paav bhaji, Triple shezwan rice, chole bhauture (it was chana puri) and Dal tadka with Jeera rice and garlic Naan. our order came one by one on the table. as I said, some items were really good, and some were average. Paav bhaaji was really good and so was dal tadka. I am a big fan of dal tadka. triple shezwan rice was okay, what I did not like was its chana puri. it was very blunt in taste and puri was kinda dry. the only item we left was chana puri. coming to other things- PORTION... come on, feed me at least. whether its dal, rice or triple shezwan rice. portion size was comparatively small. SERVICE- I have seen 6-7 servers who were sitting or wrapping up. by ordering so many items, there were so many finished plates at our table but neither our server nor anyone cleared that and we managed somehow. nobody filled the water bottle again. Service was really low for me, and guess what, after check, minimum tip % on their machine was 15%. that was not acceptable. PRICE- I can get same paav bhaji/chole bhature in $6-7 at hot Breads-Sukhadia ( they are equally good) so keeping price $10 for same, doesn't make sense. You know when you order so much food you can't eat but at the same time you're conflicted if you were given a choice: which of your leftovers would you waste? And the answer is none- not even a bite! That's Honest for you. The food is authentic- spectacular and belongs to this specific genre of Ahmedabad food loving folks. Every bite will take you home in ways that will suddenly melt away the distance. We got the manchow soup and Hakka noodles. Both on par and hit the flavors. We also got an array of chaats and it is true this location has slightly smaller portion sizes compared to other Honest restaurants. We took out the Pav Bhaji and Pulao which both- hit home with the buttery spiced deliciousness I'd been missing. Pav Bhaji is never nailed down well by most restaurants in the region so having a restaurant that specializes in these is worth the respect :) that said, the Paneer Makhni, Amul cheese Makhni, the Khoya Kaju, Honest Hangama Veg were all very well executed. Honest is well known amongst the vegetarian population in NJ. This branch is the newest one. Tried out a couple of things. Mostly all the stuff was average. The Schezwan noodles and Paneer Kadhai were my favorites. The rest were acceptable but could be better. The major disappointment is the Portion Size! They are really small compared to other restaurants and also priced on the higher side! They have good faloodas, the kesar pista one is my favorite. They also serve Jain food which is a plus. Honest may be running because of its brand popularity but it needs to seriously reconsider its portion sizes. read more

Worst service and customer experience. Th waiters took us to the table after waiting 20 mins and he comes and asked us did you place the order even though the restaurant was empty. The food came out so cold and less quantity than other location. I am very disappointed and not be returning again in Parsippany Location. :( read more

Ordered take out from this location and the experience was pretty decent. We ordered 6 bhaji pau, 5 veg pulao and extra pav. The order was ready within the specified time and we had to wait only about 5 mins or so for the food. The food was the appropriate level of spicy! Will order again! read more

My husband and I just tried this restaurant today, it's been open for about 2 weeks or so, and we loved our meal! I am by no means an expert in Indian dining, but everything was delicious and flavorful. We had samosas to start, and for dinner we had paneer makhini and palak paneer, with naan. The waiter recommended the paneer makhini and I wasn't disappointed! The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the restaurant is clean and a little more on the casual side, which is a nice change from some of the other nearby Indian restaurants. Worst food ever! I called at 6.45 pm for 4 pav bhaji and 2 pulav. They told me 40 mins to pick up! I got there 7.45 pm and actually got food around 8.10. Coming to food, the pavs were burnt and someone would get hurt if you throw one at them! Bhaji was more like a soup! Pulav was horrendous! This restaurant with delicious Indian food lacks ability to only in communications with non-Indian folks, like me. While there are challenges translating a food item into ingredients and numbering it. There problem comes in not having a takeout menu. Mind you, the food is very good. I was so happy when Honest opened up in Parsippany as its closer to my place and ample of parking space available. But alas all my dreams were shattered as soon as we dined here. First things first if anyone who has had food at the other Honest locations would know that's the food here doesn't taste the same even the menu looks different. This is not the same Honest restaurant chain in terms of food as other locations I repeat! So we ordered cheese butter Masala curry, pav bhaji and garlic naan. The garlic naans were good but that's the end of it. I couldn't eat the curry nor the pav bhaji. We ended up leaving the restaurant hungry and had to cook something at home. The person who took the order and I presume he is the owner, did not change his gloves. He was using the same gloves to prepare the juice. Before preparing the order, he used the gloves to take calls, touch other surfaces. When I politely asked him to change his gloves, he started yelling at me ( spoke in foul language and made discriminating comments) and refused to continue with the order. He was touching his face too which raised a red flag. I heard from lot of people that they are not following CDC guidelines and some of my friends were complaint about stale food. I also love spicy food and most places hold back on the spice regardless of me asking for spicy food. Honest does not. I've been to this location twice and ordered pick-up once and have always liked everything I've ordered. Their spicy pav bhaji is SPICY and delicious. Their manchow soup is another favorite! I also liked their chole batura. When we dined at the location, their south indian menu wasn't available which is something I really want to try. We took two toddlers and they were easily able to accommodate them with high chairs and patient at the mess they made :) Only wish they used a little less oil in their food (but hey, maybe that's why it's SO good ;-) read more

You may not assume it based on my name, but I love South Indian food. I married into a South Indian family, I cook Indian food several times a week, eat out at South Indian restaurants regularly, and shop at Indian grocery stores all the time. Unfortunately, Honest does not make good South Indian food. I hate to write poor reviews but the dosas here were completely forgettable. I can't speak to the rest of the menu (we only ordered dosas) but we won't be returning. The sambar was definitely made from a powder mix, and the rava dosa (not pictured) was soggy and completely lacking flavor. In the midst of all the chaos of Parsippany, there's an oasis of .... even more chaos. This is the noisiest restaurant I've ever been to. Period. The food is excellent, the service is a bit hit or miss and the ambiance is functional. Honest replaced what used to be Pakwaan and suddenly this space is seeing a lot more footfall than ever before. We order the house specials- the honest veg briyani and the masala paav every time. Never fails to impress. DO NOT TIP. The gratuity isn't paid to the waiters (verified), it goes to the restaurant. Extra source of income for the restaurant apparently. These guys are thieves. I was dealing with the manager Mr. Penal Patel after my confrontation, he is one of the rudest persons I've spoken to totally incompetent. Here's my horrible experience dining in- gratuity was automatically applied without any indication. Tipping is always optional and there is some kind of a note otherwise. There was nothing as such mentioned anywhere, and when I asked the manager Mr Penal Patel, he rudely asked me to go and speak with the corporate office and started to walk away. He acts as if he owns all the chains and that he could wrongly charge customers and get away with it. He has no regard towards the customer, is obnoxiously rude and incompetent to run the restaurant. He chose to yell and argue in the middle of the restaurant over a $10 gratuity and make a scene in front of other guests, that's how shallow he is. My purpose of going over was to understand why I was charged extra and it wasn't even about the money at that point. As a customer I should be aware of the charges before ordering and authorising the gratuity. 100% tips should go to the waiters. That's not the case and it's a way to make the extra money for the restaurant. Worse experience ever. read more

We went in after one of our favourite restaurant in the area was unfortunately closed for the weekend... but guess it wasn't that unfortunate after all. This restaurant is a gem. It is the same place where the old pakwaan restaurant was. The food was amazing. We got a samosa chat, double cheese pizza, Chinese bhel and a pavbhaji. My family orders the pau bhaji spicy or extra spicy & they love it as well. However I must say the service is lacking. They usually have 2 waiters and this place can get very busy. This place has literally gone to the dogs over the last year. Pre-pandemic staff was great, food was great, used to be our go-to spot. Since the new manager (possibly the franchisee owner himself?) has started running the show, it's been pathetic. Extremely rude, bad service.. STAY CLEAR!! Please do not visit this absolutely horrendous establishment. They are knowingly not following COVID guidelines even to the slightest degree. The same person serves the food, takes orders, and cleans the tables without gloves. The staff member was clearly not trained at all by management. Not to mention the food was terrible (we have had great experiences at other locations). They also charged us twice, and when we approached the manager he refused to believed that his system charged us twice. After we noticed the unhygienic behavior of the staff, and expressed our concern to the manager he chose to be rude and dismiss our comments, even saying the server "forgot" gloves. The server then proceeded to work without gloves despite several customer complaints. I got to Honest once every two months. Flagship dishes are Paav Bhaji & Pulao and they are awesome! North Indian food is great too. Even though its a veg restaurant they dont have much variety with fresh vegetables. Service is very fast but it also makes you think how much prep they do before putting on the table. In addition to food, Masala soda, ice-cream (indian flavors), lassi, shakes and Paan are worth trying. This is the same Honest restaurant chain that is there in Gujarat, India. read more
