I have done both Dine-In and Delivery here multiple times, and I have to say that their Delivery experience was way better than the Dine-In. They tend to be super crowded on Weekends, and the service was quite late, so definitely would not going in on an weekend if younare already hungry. Obviously, this problem won't be there in Delivery ‍ Food is above average, edging towards quite good, and considering the slim pickings I have for South Indian cuisine, this is definitely a repeat option for me.

Have been here a few times over the years. The dosa is crispy and delish! I have to say i didnt love the veg thali this time around - the dishes felt not super warm and something abt the quality was just missing for me personally idt id order again. We happily devoured the entire dosa tho

I have been a faithful customer since 2012 when they were at their old location. I have the exact same order every time I come and it is so amazing that I dream about the food. Today, however it was so unbelievably disappointing. The tapwater tasted like toilet water. Normally, it's crisp freshwater. Paratha bread was served half cooked. I had to send it back. Instead of the normal basmati style rice that we have received every time we come we were given different rice that does not have a good taste to it. My daughter's mango lassi was warm. The onion potato dosa filling was more like soup consistency. The masala dishes were not as good as they normally are, but they were at least edible. We will not be back.

Very poor customer service and lacking professionalism. Dismissive and rude staff, especially Hitesh. I ordered 3 small items for lunch for delivery via grubhub. I received a phone call from Hitesh of Rajni that only 1 item was ordered so the restaurant was confused, he told me to call grubhub and hung up. I wasted time trying to reach grubhub but Hitesh called me back when he realizes his error. When he received the full order he said he has everything except the sweet pan, so he again said for me to call grubhub to get refund, he didn't know how to process refund for unavailable item systemstically. I asked him to please process refund or just substitute something comparable but he didn't want to be bothered, he dumped the problem on me (again). I told him to please send the other 2 items which they had and he agreed. 30 minutes later I get a phone call from grubhub that they canceled my entire order which was obviously done purely maliciously by Hitesh. 2 hours of my time wasted just for a small lunch with dosa, raita, and pan.

Dosa perfection, both the Plain & Masala Dosa. And pretty awesome Madras Coffee too. Came across this restaurant randomly and so glad we did!

At the recommendation of a few friends, we stopped here for dinner. Small restaurant with a very humble look. We shared the Set Dosa (not pictured), Special Chicken Biriyani, and Chicken Kothu Parotta. Everything was spiced and seasoned nicely. The flavors are something I haven't experienced before, yet I was pleasantly surprised. I will come back and try other dishes in the future.

"average food except Karimeen Tawa Fry (Pomfret grilled) Rajni has shifted to a new location near to khan market. this review is based on my 2 dining out there in the last couple of weeks. We went there on 17 and 25 Apr. We waited for 10 minutes to get the table. as usual, like any typical Telugu restaurant, it has too only 2 servers trying to manage 8-10 tables so get used to slow service. in first dining, we ordered Karuveppilai Iral Masala (Prawn), Karimeen Tawa Fry (Pomfret grilled) and chicken fried rice. Pomfret was really amazing. Prawn appetizer and fried rice was not good. Service was slow. if you want quite a place, then this is not the one. in my 2nd dining, we order Indian food this time. again pomfret, mutton sukha, mix vegetables, dal tadka and one kothu paratha. Started were good but lets talk abt sabzi. how can some restaurant cook wrong dal tadka? I specially asked for spicy dal tadka and all it was plain moong dal with one red chilly, not at all spicy. i even asked waiter to make it spicy and all he come up with chopped green chillies in dal. disgusting. mix vegetables was mix with egg plant and drumstick. that's it. horrible. Rajni is good for starters only I guess. no Chinese no Indian food for sure.

    Non-Veg Thali

Absolutely loved the flavor-packed non-veg thali! Every item in the thali was incredibly tasty and the portion size was just right. A must-visit spot. We also tried other dishes like chili chicken and fish 65, both equally delicious. The staffs are very nice

Rajni is a south Indian restaurant featuring cuisine from the state of Tamil Nadu. The restaurant is named after a Tamil movie superstar "Rajni"kant. They serve Authentic South Indian food at reasonable pricing with average service and great ambience. The food is very vegetarian friendly. The restaurant has picked quiet some buzz in North Jersey area for their Thali. Thali is a traditional Indian lunch platter served with rice/roti and a bunch of sides. Rajni offers authentic Tamil thali served on a banana leaf with (a mound of) rice, a roti and a bunch of sides. I had tried their veg thali which comes with dal, sambar - a vegetable lentil soup, korma - a spicy vegetable stew, poriyal - a dry vegetable fry typically made with some grated coconut, kara kozhambu - a spicy and tangy curry, rasam - a thin spicy tomato broth, some veg biryani and a dessert. The thali was of pretty good quality and reminded of food I had in Chennai. This is one of the very few restaurants in New Jersey, that serve Thali and I believe the only serving Tamil styled one. I had visited the restaurant with a big group from work and the place was big enough to accommodate. Along with the thali we tried a bunch of appetizers. The onion pakora and chili bajji were great, kara paniyaram especially was fabulous. The apps were served hot and very tasty. The service could have been definitely improved, it seemed like the place was understaffed at the front of house. Recommendations: Appetizers: Kara Paniyaram, Onion Pakora & Chili bajji Veg Thali Overall, the restaurant is definitely worth trying especially for their Tamil thali. The service could have been better and be mindful that the food served here can be pretty spicy.

I fell in love with place... Their Vegetarian Thali Lunch was the best thing I've had in a long time We also had Paratha and Chicken Chettinad which was delicious. The paratha was crispy and soft which blended so well with the chicken. Definitely coming back here, next time I am in NJ.

Rava masala dosa with various chutneys and sambhar. Have to try it.

If you love South Indian dishes like Hyderabadi biryani, dosas, and vada, then you have to come to this restaurant. I love bringing my family and friends to try this place because I feel at home here. Every time I come here, I try something new. At my most recent dining experience, we ordered Semiya vada. It was really good, crispy and different from the vadas I've tasted before. I also ordered my favorite biryani and it didn't disappoint one bit. At the end of my meal, I ordered mithi paan which is an after dinner treat to help digest your food. It's an acquired taste but I love it. I definitely recommend all to dine here as they have a variety of South Indian dishes and their service is always good. Just remember to plan ahead on weekends as they do not take reservations. Call ahead and see what is the wait time so you are not disappointed.

Boy o boy I like to review this restaurant went multiple times while visiting Parsippany . The food , flavor never gets bored . I went to this place with my colleagues and they are super awesome friendly and they strive to provide your food on time , but good food sometime takes time so be patient with them so they can deliver good food. I took some of my Chinese colleagues there and they always wanted to be there trying different varieties. Also their Thali meals put beat any buffet in town. Do visit this restaurant and try their briyani and South Indian specials

    Chicken Tawa fry

Went there on a Friday night. Crowded when we entered but managed to get a table in 10 mins. Once we were ready to order, it took us sometime to get someone's attention to write down the orders. The staff didn't carry an sort of material to write the order down, so when we attacked with a ton of items, he tried to memorize all of them. Then he came back with a printed order which had a few items missing. Such inconvenience for everyone! Off to a bad start. Anyway, the rest of the meal was smooth and most of the items were good. Below is a compilation of items I've had over a bunch of visits. Chicken Tawa Fry : It was a specialty dish that day. Good flavors. Loved it. Non veg thali : Although the items were flavorful, I found the fish fry a bit dry ( read : not so fresh fish). Maybe I'm being tough since I've always had fresh fish. (Just maybe) Chicken Biryani : It was basically fried chicken(from the likes of chicken 65) mixed with colorful rice. Not a fan. I would skip this one. Kodi Veppudu Chicken: This item is our top favorite. Chemmeen Porichattu: Crispy Fried shrimp is another favorite. Disappears in no time. ( Tip: Fans of Prawns Koliwada can go for this one!) Chicken Naadang Curry : Not so spicy curry was very flavorful. Safe choice. Chicken Chettinad: Always been a fan, and it did not disappoint. Malabar Parottha: Huge and flavorful. Goes well with the above mentioned gravies. All in all Rajni is a great place for good South Indian Style non veg food.

I've had me some soul food in Mississippi and 'Bama, though at a fraction of the price you get up North. Look, it's a Montclair thing. Pluses: Black owned restaurant serving cultural staples, plus foods for people who don't want Southern. Ambiance featured soul music, and at one point was playing Shaft! I can dig it. You're not left wanting for food quantity or quality. Plenty of shrimp in the grits, for example. Server was very pleasant to talk to with a little Southern twang to her voice. Why not five stars: Flavor needs deepening. For example, in the South I'm used to seeing okra chopped and breaded before being fried. Maybe more oily that way, more carbs... but more flavor as a result. I had the pulled chicken mac, which was a bit smaller of a dish overall (a bit intentional on my part) - and while the cheese flavors run deep, the meat did not. Shrimp and grits, I took a quick sample of my friend's grits and... I bet you can guess my finding there. Still, a very nice change from the usual Northern selection of foods. I would not hesitate to say Sweet T's is authentic and a nice visit if you're in town. You'll be paying a pretty penny wherever you eat, so you can tag this one on your list.

Cornbread falls into that cafeteria-style category for me. We went on a Friday night and the restaurant was completely empty. I ordered the three-piece fried chicken with potato salad and cabbage. My friend had the oxtail with yams and collard greens. The fried chicken was flavorful and tasty, though I could tell it wasn't freshly fried--barely warm and not crispy, again, cafeteria style. The potato salad was really good and probably the highlight of my meal. The cabbage, however, had more onions and peppers than cabbage, which wasn't great. The cornbread itself was delicious but barely warm. I imagine it's really good straight out of the oven, but that's not what we were served. My friend did enjoy the oxtail. The collard greens were sweet but still good, and the yams were pretty decent. We ordered a peach cobbler to go because it sounded good, but once I got home it was very disappointing. The dough was barely cooked, and I could still see flour. If I had eaten it at the restaurant, I definitely would've sent it back. Service was great. The staff was friendly, we ordered at the counter, and they brought the food to our table. The space is small but has just enough seating. We were lucky to find on-street parking since we went late on a Friday night. They accept cash and all major credit cards. One small note: there are no bottled hot sauces, just small no-name packets, which weren't the best. We also had the sweet tea, which had a strange flavor--possibly honey--but it wasn't what I expected and I was no where near impressed. If you're expecting southern sweet tea, that's not what they have here. Pricing felt a little high for what's offered. Two dinners, two iced teas, and a very small peach cobbler to go cost us almost $70! Overall, decent food and friendly service, but for the price, I expected more of that true home-cooked soul food experience.
