We stopped at Ridgewood Eatery (formerly Green Fusion) for lunch while exploring Ridgewood yesterday. The good: they have a separate vegan menu! I think this is part of the old Green Fusion menu, which may have been a vegan restaurant. The not so great: The restaurant was pretty empty, but we still waited a really long time for our food (around 45 min). The explanation we received was that it was being made fresh, but isn't that the expectation? The decor is pretty nondescript; I think they may be going for a retro vibe, but its hard to tell. It was also weirdly quiet, like eating in a library. They have live music in the evenings, so maybe it's more lively during dinner.  We ordered: Arugula & Pear Salad - This was delicious and vegan! Farm House Hash - Good enough, but nothing special. The french fries were unnecessary considering the hash browns. I love potatoes, but this was too much even for me. Also, this comes with avocado per the menu, but they were noticeably missing. I asked and they brought me a side of , but this seems like another kink to work out. I won't come back here for brunch/lunch, but maybe I'll give dinner a try after they (hopefully) figure out what's going on in the kitchen. read more

Food is truly awful...we had the halloumi which was dry with the potatoes(tater tots) arriving COLD! Beyond burger was grilled beyond recognition with limp lettuce...the cauliflower wings were cold and not at all crispy. Sad to say we will not be back... Service was very kind and the place is pretty. The music is fake- they are using an AI playlist of 80s hell thst steals royalties from musicians. So...I think an overall upgrade is dude for this place... read more

We were there for brunch, seemed like it had decent reviews. It took ~50 minutes to get our food for a table of 4. I feel like they forgot to make one of the meals and rushed to make to while keeping the others under the heat lamp. The avocado toast was actually brown when it came out it was sitting under the heat for so long. The Florentine omelette was "done" looking on the outside and wet on the inside. There was no flavor minimally needed salt and pepper. I got an orange juice which on the menu is $9, and is actually sunny delight. Not even making it up. We saw them bring out the sunny delight bottle and pour it for someone else behind the bar. When we got the bill it was $5 which made me feel a little better, but still. Anyway, I don't think I'll ever come back and if you decide to go, really think about it. read more

The order took a long time, and portions were on the smaller side, but food was delicious! Everyone enjoyed their meals.

Pretty rough experience - these folks really need to change this place... or close. We showed up at 10:30 a.m. on a Sunday and there was only one other table--should've taken it as a sign when that guy got up to complain about his wait time. Our food then took 50 minutes... for basic breakfast. Nothing fancy, just eggs and toast-type stuff. A table that came in after us gave up and left before they got served. Honestly, good call. I ordered eggs with toast and home fries, added sausage and cheese. It came out missing the home fries and cheese. Took so long I forgot it was even supposed to have home fries. The sausage tasted like one of those generic frozen brands you regret buying. Also, the water tasted like pool water. Really hope they can turn things around, but it's not a place I'll be giving a second chance. read more

OK so I came back to check it out again. Very disappointed. Service was sketchy at best. I had French toast and the brioche? bread was a bit stale. Nicely presented but not very good. My wife had the omelet which she did enjoy. Bread on the side was rock hard. I don't understand the tater tots though. Not coming back. read more

What an almost surreal experience last night at this place. 1 1/2 hrs, post ordering, before realizing that the food was not close to coming, we HAD to leave. After watching patrons that entered the establishment long after we had ordered, actually get their orders. It makes me think that, since they lack management it's inevitable that everything short of that will suffer. I've been here before and it did take long, but when the food did come it was consistent and very good. Strange that there was no explanation that made any sense for the wait and lack of order. We had to ask for something to hold us like maybe some bread, and after half the table was ordering from the dedicated vegan menu, the only bread that came out had cheese and butter on it. (plain fresh bread would have sufficed) I'm embarrassed that we let 45 minutes go by without inquiry; at the 1 hr mark we were respectful but inquisitive, at 1 1/2hr we were forced to leave...and never return. read more

Ordered from their website tonight. An hour later I got a text saying my order was canceled. Called the restaurant and they said they did not have the ingredients to make some of the dishes I ordered. No apology and they waited over hour before telling me. Really disappointed. read more

The Ridgewood Eatery (formerly Green Fusion) is a paradise for vegetarians and vegans. There are numerous diverse dishes to try and enjoy. The General Tso's appetizer was delicious, as were the cauliflower steak with sweet potatoes/garlic mashed potatoes and the flatbread pizza. I look forward to returning and trying more of the unique and delicious-sounding dishes! read more

All vegan meal: Buffalo Cauliflower was really good. Ordered Lentil soup but think I got tomato soup. It was ok, but no real taste. Ask for some pepper and got it. It was better. Orange chicken was decent but again, no real taste to it. Falafel burger was good and had a kick to it. Chocolate Mousse was just that and nothing else. Needed something to give it some 'ooomph'. Nobody there on a Saturday night was our first clue that this place may not be so great. Tried something new but it could've been much better. read more

really good spot! for anyone upset about green fusion, this place still offers most of the popular items from their menu (they merged with green fusion). the staff were very kind. my only issue were the prices for some things--ex: $7 for tea (regular bag + hot water). otherwise it was pretty much the same price wise with other places in ridgewood read more

Seven of us went for dinner a couple of nights ago. Most of us had never been to an upscale vegan restaurant and wanted to see how good vegan food can be, given the high ratings Green Fusion receives for its food . We ordered many items and shared. Our overall conclusion is that Green Fusion does a really good job. We will go back. A thing to note is that, at present at least, there is a separate menu with meat items. The few of us who ordered from this menu said the food was superb, bordering on the best they'd ever had (and our group has dined out a lot). Those eating vegan/vegetarian said the food was very good, and that they were satisfied. Some of the items were superb. The fig and olive flatbread was a favorite. A suggestion is that we found too little variation in flavor across the 15+ appetizers and main course items we ordered. A criticism is that the "Beets Tartare" was instead a beet salad with goat cheese and a green--it lacked the apple and avocado specified in the menu, still very good but not as expected. The service was fine and responsive and friendly. We had a good time. read more
