The mushroom soup was incredible, and so was the spaghetti with meatballs. I had the pear pasta, which was a bit sweet, almost like a dessert. The lemonchello lemon drop was one of the best drinks I've had.

I can't tell what makes it special and unique as an Italian restaurant. It's not advertised that they make their own pasta so I couldn't really tell you. This is truly a 2.75 star experience. It's a really popular place for a first dates (we saw a lot of first dates). But this place is small so if you talk in a louder voice, I can hear your first date conversation from across the room and I now know what your favorite color is and a story about your aunt. Just keep that in mind (it's also not a loud restaurant so your date will be able to hear you). Food was okay. The chicken piccata was underwhelming. The best part was the pasta itself. Not enough chicken pieces for what it is. The fried mozzarella was interesting but not for me. The best was the chicken Alfredo and even that was just okay. For the price that we paid, I would've preferred to go to the chain and get their chicken Alfredo because it's always enough to last me 2 meals.

It was creamy, cheesy, and had a little zing at the end of every bite that made it have such an interesting flavor. The cheese garlic bread and meatballs were also great. The place is beautifully decorated, clean and odor free. For the three items, our bill was $33.00 but I think it was worth it. It's a little high for my budget to eat on a regular basis but if I could, I would! The picture makes it look a little less appetizing than the description but don't let that deter you. That's just bad photography on my part.

Our server Emily was great to work with and very attentive to such a large group as we were 12 people. I was pleasantly surprised with the meal portions especially the pork shank and the pricing for it. My expectation was that this meal alone would be $40-60 and it was more reasonably priced at $30. In addition to this item we ordered the gnocchi bolognese and garlic bread sticks. This sauce was quite meaty just like the pork shank. I will say the garlic bread wasn't my favorite but I can't say no to bread! The bread that is provided to the table was a bit tastier to me including en dipping oil.

I guess I just came at a bad time when they were changing out shifts. The whole experience lacked authenticity for me, and it just wasn't what I expect when I dine out. I didn't enjoy the experience. I understand that people all have different tastes, and there are many factors involved helping us either to like, or dislike anything, but this place just didn't do it for me. It's probably me, and I am not the clientele they are looking to attract. That's okay. Your experience might be different and better. Try it for yourself, and see.

We went to an early dinner, so it wasn't very busy yet, but felt rushed through everything and the timing of drinks, food, bill and to-go boxes, felt awkward and off. We ordered drinks right away, and mine came relatively fast, but they couldn't find all the ingredients for one of the specialty cocktails, so that came out at least 20 minutes later and between the salad and main course. The salad arrived on a plate that had just come out of the refrigerator, and was iceberg lettuce with some dressing on top. Super simple. My spaghetti with mushroom sauce was surprisingly bland. I used to love this restaurant 25 years ago when I was in college, but now I feel like I could do better at home with a jar of Ragu sauce. For almost $20, it's definitely not worth it. The third course is a scoop of spumoni or vanilla ice cream, which is a nice touch. The to-go boxes and bill arrived before I was even halfway done with my meal and we just guessed we would need them. On a normal night out, these things seem to just happen with the right timing, and you hardly notice anything awkward. Here, the whole experience was a bit awkward. The staff was friendly, and I'm sure they're doing their best, but I definitely won't return.
