I ran into this small establishment a couple of years ago ,and being as the original restaurant we were going to was closed I thought we would give this place a shot. Warning dine in is only available until 3:00 daily. Emphasis on takeout I suppose. Garlic cheese bread was dynamite, probably best I've ever had literally! Spaghetti was meh! Noodles are made fresh as well as the meatballs and sausage which the sausage I do believe comes from Louisville or Lafayette. None of us were falling out of our seats over the meal but it was ok. I felt the meal was pricey . $85 with 3 softdrinks. Less tips. Atmosphere was nothing to brag about row of tables with checkered cloths. Would I go back? Probably not. Sauce didn't have much flavor and a little watery for my taste but you may like it if you have stomach issues. But anything is worth trying once right? read more

I agree the restaurants eating area is lacking any welcome. It's more of a work and storage area. My table was not wiped off and the salt and pepper shaker were sticky, nasty. The lady greeted me quickly and gave me a menu. My drink arrived quickly as well as the salad. The salad was iceberg lettuce and two cherry tomatoes. Not great. But my spaghetti and sausage was excellent. Thick, homemade pasta and the sausage had some heat, so beware. And the portions were generous, enough for me to have two more times. I was never asked if I'd like a refill on my drink, in fact I didn't see the lady until I was ready to leave. Bottom line; I'd order take out next time. The restaurant lobby and wait staff is unwelcoming, stuffy, messy and crowded. read more

Just about the worst spaghetti I've ever had. I believe it was Asian Udon noodles they served not actually spaghetti which was a gross texture . Borderline inedible, our teenagers disliked it as well. The salad was lettuce, cabbage and carrots. That was the only salad option. Not great. I gave it 1 star because the garlic bread was okay and it wasn't expensive. Two thumbs down do not recommend, will not be back. read more

I made the mistake of looking at Google Map reviews (4.4) instead of checking Yelp. I ordered a Meatball Parm sandwich and Chicken Parm sandwich. Both come with sides so I got a side salad and spaghetti. It was meh and edible. Meatball sandwich was bland, bread a little stale, spaghetti sauce taste canned, Chicken Parm was nicely fried but looked frozen. I don't plan on going back. read more

Papa Franks use to be in a different location where you had more eat in space but the one of Nickel is for takeout. The food is still great as ever and the Rizzi family and folks who work here are always really nice and friendly. The dishes are all homemade, really filling and so so good to eat! I love just about every dish I have tried but my favorite is their lasagna which is heavenly. If you want a great family treat you should stop by this joint and make the whole family happy and very full! :) read more

Absolutely terrible. My husband and I ordered take out from them last week. They forgot the additional meatballs that my husband ordered (and paid extra for), they also forgot the soup that his meal came with. We both ordered gnocchi and received just plain noodles in red sauce. We were supposed to get our choice of sauce but no one asked. When we realized about 10 minutes later we walked back over and asked them if we could each get Alfredo. We were told no problem. At pickup we were then told that the additional sauce would be $3.99. The reviews were great so we just paid for the sauce and brought the food home. Immediately we realized food was missing but were so hungry that we just dug in. The sauce (which was red and already on my food) was so salty that I could barely eat my food. The Alfredo wasn't any better. The pasta was beyond disappointing. I will never order from them again. The restaurant was absolutely dead when we walked in and had only one other customer when we went to pickup, so I know that they weren't busy. So disappointed in the quality of food and the service. read more

Papa Frank's a family favorite for years. Throughout our 3 sons high school years the family meal package fed the guys generously at an easy to budget cost. Our favorite memories loading the guys up for a family ski weekend with PF's family package. That was over 20 years ago. To this day we still get same value and quality when we order out and take to family gatherings. Our favorite is the homemade spaghetti, sauce, meats (meatball/sausage combo) garlic bread with salad and house Italian dressing. Highly Recommend! read more

Deceptive/borderline fraudulent business practices. Terrible customer service. Despite being take-out only, they refuse to make an accurate menu available online. "Real" prices are nearly double what is listed on their website/Facebook, and staff are argumentative if you question this. Even when following their explicit instructions over the phone to access a current menu, I was repeatedly directed to the same website which apparently hasn't had prices updated in ten years (although it has the current location, which seems to have changed since then). A friend had picked up my order or I would have refused the food. The owner refused to APOLOGIZE, let alone offer any type of refund/discount, offered a series of illogical excuses, and acted like I was being insane for being upset that my food cost nearly twice what I expected. The food itself was okay; I wouldn't buy it again at the original price, let alone the updated prices. You can tell the noodles are homemade, but they're over cooked and the sauce is mediocre at best. Don't waste your money on food you can find better for similar prices at other restaurants in the area, who hopefully have more honest owners. read more

Ate there the first time looking for an Italian fix for lunch, their spaghetti special was right on. Awesome homeland noodles, excellent meatball and sauce and garlic bread was perfect. Going back tomorrow for another try, but I really love this mom/pop place with homemade food. after tomorrow, will be my go to place for lunch at least once a week (love Italian). Prices are incredible fair for the quality of food you receive. Need to try everything they make as I hear the lasagna is delicious as well. read more

I was invited there for dinner by a friend that claimed it was great Italian food. Upon arrival we saw the "take out only" sign on the door. Walked in and nobody was wearing a mask, but they put them on when we ordered our food and they brought it next door to the pool bar where we were allowed to sit and eat while we occupied a pool table. I didn't know what to have, and the woman on the cash register suggested Gnocchi with Alfredo sauce. Both are favorites of mine, however the gnocchi was tough thin little bites, not pillowy soft balls of potato pasta. The Alfredo was salty and starchy. My friend enjoyed the lasagna and sausage. I'm not a fan, but this is a neighborhood favorite. The service was great. read more

Thank you Yelp for finding me another delightful local restaurant to add to our list of frequent favs. We will definitely be back after our first experience. I had heard that this restaurant was a Broomfield staple for years, and had recently re-opened at a smaller location. So we opted to try their carry out, as the business has this note on their website: "Our new facility will be stressing "carry-out" with limited in-house seating. Carry-out includes individual meals along with "Family Packs" etc." We got the family gnocci dinner pack with meatballs that came with side salad and garlic bread; as well as the Papa Franks Wop Burger and the BLT. My favorite was the Wop Burger, it was incredible! Overall, we were very impressed with the prices and the incredible quality of the food. Everything was home-made and well prepared. This place is tucked in a bland strip mall next to an Indian restaurant, but don't be scared off. The food is worth walking in to check out. We tried the gnocchi, ravioli, and lasagna. The pastas were all homemade and tasted wonderful. The meatballs and sausage were definitely worth getting. The meatball had a rich soft taste. The sausage had a great spice. The only complaint was the watery red sauce which could have been thicker and more intense. The minestrone soup was very hearty and had small chunks is meat in it. We weren't expecting that. We're glad we tried this place. It really hit the spot for homemade goodness. read more

Fantastic homemade sausage and pasta. Homemade Spaghetti is sooo satisfying and al dente. The lasagna is hearty and complex and made with housemade pasta. There might be a little pancetta bacon in there? Very delicious! Garlic bread and soup was uniquely delicious also. Next time I'll try the gnocchi and pesto and let you know how it goes. I ordered the Spaghetti & lasagna combo for $26, which barely was enough food for one person. No sauce on the spaghetti, and the lasagna portion was the size of a sampler. Overall, extremely dry and salty and we were left disappointed and hungry. I wanted to support local business, but I will never go back here because of the outrageous prices for Italian food that I can make better at home. read more

We used to have Papa Franks close to home here in Frederick, but they closed down. We decided to drive to this location and dine in for their Sunday special all you can eat. Luckily, we were able to get a table, there are only 6 in the whole place. We were promptly greeted and given drinks then ordered our dinner. They brought my soup and my husbands salad, then our bread and entrees. I assumed that our kids food would be coming soon. I tried to flag someone down, but once we got our food we stopped receiving any service. It's almost as if they were treating us differently because they thought we ordered two AYCE meals to feed the four of us. My kids were playing and content, so my husband I kept eating our dinner. By time we were done eating, we were all it desperate need of drink refills and my kids food was nowhere to be seen. I finally got up to ask what was going on and they said they didn't get the order. By then, we decided to just take our food to go. We were never offered anything to make up for this mistake. They got us out to-go food and we paid the bill. The food is good, but I recommend doing the carry out option only. I'm not surprised that the Frederick location closed down and that they had to downsize from the other Broomfield location. read more
