I called Jesse Moreno on Tuesday, he gave me a quote for a dryer vent cleaning over the phone and came in person to do the job that same Thursday. My dryer vent is odd and goes up through a wall in the center of the house and exits on the roof on the 2nd floor (thanks new home builder). I also asked him to inspect the full length of my vent tube, since houses in my area were known for rushed shoddy construction and part of the vent tube had come apart some years back (but was repaired by some AC guys I hired a few yrs ago). Jesse showed up 15min early and got the entire job done within about 35min, including a full cleaning of the vent tube from the roof all the way down to my dryer without having to move anything, take anything apart, and he spent a minimum of time inside my house. At my request, he also ran a camera down the tube to ensure there were no unrepaired breaks or leaks and everything was intact and working the way it was supposed to. At the end of the job he provided me with the video which showed my vent tube was sparkly clean, and he ended up charging me exactly what he quoted over the phone and not a penny more. Yes this job can be DIY if you have the right tools. But Jesse was so fast and clean and did the job so effortlessly, I feel like I will keep his number and call him every so often and save myself the time and effort. His professional and pleasant manner along with a low-key, no pressure approach was much appreciated and made our decision making process easy. Well detailed estimates made it straightforward to analyze various options and pick the solution right for our needs. First was the removal of our old 1970's existing ductwork in the attic and installation of a new R-6 rated flex ducting system complete with new supply air vents and return intake and balancing dampers. The new ducting was securely hung and strapped in place in the attic. Our 27 year old Carrier condenser was removed and replaced with a high efficiency AC Pro 4 ton, two-stage variable speed 21 SEER2 unit as was the furnace, replaced with an AC Pro A-series, two stage variable speed unit. The installation crew, Luis, Carlos and Manny were truly top notch, working in a courteous and professional manner to complete the installation, testing and startup in quick order. It was apparent from the start that these guys were well qualified installers who worked together as a cohesive team to get the job done with minimal downtime. An especially big thanks to our installer Bobby and his crew who did such an exceptional job carefully removing the old system and doing a beautiful install of the new one. They also completely reworked the AC closet, moving the system forward and sealing everything off cleanly, what was once a poorly converted linen closet now has potential for usable space behind it. Whereas the old system sounded like a jet engine taking off, the new Mitsubishi is astonishingly quiet, the condenser is outside our bedroom and you hear literally nothing. It works flawlessly and has been keeping the house perfectly cool through what's shaping up to be a hot summer. This was not an easy install either.
