Purchased Two 18K new jet skis from this dealership. Have had nothing but problems. One ski sunk…read morewithin two months. The entire engine was submerged in salt water. They did not put it together correctly from the dealership. They refused to take the ski back and simply attempted to repair it. Now everything is rusting out. The second ski would not go in reverse. Again, they did not put it together correctly. The temperature gauge on the same ski fell off, the entire engine overheated, all of the plastic parts melted. They told me to submit it to insurance who denied the claim because we drove it 15 minutes after the alarms were triggered. Well, it took 15 minutes to drive it in limp mode to get it out of the water to inspect. I filed a separate claim with the manufacturer who ultimately agreed to pay for a brand new engine. I went to pick it up yesterday and they tried to charge me $45 to put the lift back on my trailer. Long and short of it is that I had the skis for approximately 3 summers and pretty much one or the other ski was in the shop. This company passes the blame onto everyone but themselves. They even tried to take credit for the replacement engine when that was a result of my filing a claim with the manufacturer and following up with a special department ever couple of weeks. The loss of use regarding these purchases along with this company's negligence should be actionable but I spent hours and hours trying to find a lawyer in that State under lemon laws and could not locate anyone who handles watercraft. Do not buy from this dealer. All they want is your money and then don't care about their products.

Upon dropping my boat off for repair, I asked how long before I get it back fixed. Three weeks I was told, Eight weeks later it was finally "looked" at and then told I would need to wait for parts, Then when parts come in schedule it for repair. That's when I picked up the boat to take elsewhere. Each time I called I was straight out lied to. Each week it was "scheduled in the cue for this week". The service manager refused to let me talk to the owner. Even told me he doesn't have a phone. LOL. Which later he screwed up by telling me he just talked to the owner on the phone. I could go on and on but you should have gotten the message by now... Go ANYWHERE else! There is no way there is any one or any place as bad as Shorts Marine.

My husband spoke with Scott and he said they would take care of it and make it right, photos were provided for Scott to see. Now, he states that Bill (owner) said it "happens" and they are not doing anything about it and Scott was just as a matter of fact when I recently spoke with him. We also need a part from Avalon warehouse and because Bill calls them bitching them out on a regular bases they are not moving any faster. Beware when buying from them.
