I finally dug out my old set of BBS RS 3-piece rims for refurbishing. I had heard of Skips…read moreWheelworks and visited the previous owner while it was in Beaverton. I called and spoke with Trent about my project to see if he, as the new owner, carried on with BBS refinishing. Trent confirmed that they do, so I set up a time to bring the rims and the car they were going on to him for a consultation/drop-off. Trent was just as nice in person as he was on the phone. He was really interested in the car as much as the rims. See photos. We talked about the process and specifically about the changes I wanted to make. I decided to go with the center color to match the lower body line color. While going through some BBS forum chats, I saw someone had done a similar color but added gold bolts. I called Trent and asked him if I could make the change from chrome to gold. Trent said it was no trouble; just order and send the bolts to the business. Shortly thereafter, I got a call from Trent that the rims were ready to be picked up. I took the car they were going on to pick them up so I could do a quick look to make sure what I had envisioned came through. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves. The car draws attention, but most comments are about the rims. I would give Trent, Jim, and the rest of the crew a 6-star review for the skill and art they bring to refinishing. There is no hesitation from me where I will be taking my next set of rims for refinishing.

Jim means well, but I think he gets busy, and can't meet the lead-times he originally states. My daughter wanted the silver OEM wheels on her Chevy Cruze Premier repainted to a gloss black, so we brought them to FWO. The end result is exactly what we wanted, and it was a lot cheaper than trying to find the factory "Redline" wheels. The paint job is high quality, and it looks really nice. The areas for improvement include communication and lead-times. Initially we were given a completion date of 2 business days, and I told them they could take 3 if needed. When I called on the third day, they told me three rims were bent, and they needed to be straightened (for additional cost). I gave the go ahead, but I think they had our wheels confused with another project, because they never added on any other charges. The wheels & car ended up being ready for pick up on the sixth business day. As stated, the paint job is great, but the tires seemed haphazardly filled to random pressure levels, differing by a few PSI from corner to corner (that was an easy fix). They all hold air just fine, though; so no worries there. I would definitely recommend the work that Jim & FWO do, but just allow a little extra time for project completion.

I went in for what should have been a simple brake service, but it quickly turned into being told…read morethat my brake caliper also needed to be replaced. What concerns me most is that my vehicle had never run hot or overheated at any point during the time I've owned it. However, immediately after leaving the shop, my car started running hot for the first time. I also noticed two different employees working under my hood, even though I was only there for brake work. That raised concerns because there was no clear reason for anyone to be working in the engine compartment. Given the timing, it's hard not to question whether something may have been disturbed or improperly handled during the service. Overall, the experience felt very unprofessional and sketchy. The staff appeared inexperienced, and I left with more problems than I arrived with. Based on my experience, I would not recommend trusting this shop with your vehicle.

I had to be late for work for two hours because their website states they open at 730 but that was incorrect. They fixed the tire. Ever since then I've had to nurse my tire and stop at any place that could put air in it. I finally got off work early today and so my tire read 29psi. Victor wasn't there so I dealt with the new guy. I wasn't impressed with his customer service but I just wanted it fixed. Then when they gave me my car back they told me the kid didn't put it in the plug correctly. So they apparently fixed it. Then my tire was loosing air and automotive outfitters guy said six minutes and it will reset. Nope now I'm at Les Schwab because automotive outfitters is not willing to fix it properly. I bought a warranty with my tires but I'm now having to pay for Les Schwabs to fix it correctly. I called this guy who treated me with disrespect on the phone. I said well the owner reached out to me which he did "Harrry S" on my five star yelp review. He told me the owner sold this business years ago retired and nope he did not. I need my car for work. He also told me on the phone maybe your part is bad. I told him my car is new and I have an app that keeps records of everything that goes on with my car. So I guess I have to go to small claims court since I paid for a warranty have only had my tires for 60 days and I'm having to pay to have it fixed properly. I'm so disappointed and I'm sitting at Les Schwabs for two hours now just to have it fixed right. I just left Les Schwabs and they wrote everything down what they found that automotive outfitters did wrong on my tire. Sad. A woman makes a purchase like this gets spoken to like that and to find out you trusted the wrong people.

(pup is fine, thank goodness) I thought for sure this would mean a new bumper and a steep bill or a big insurance hit. I took my car to Craig at Bump Parlor to get an estimate. He was helping another customer, but said he could get me an estimate in just a couple of minutes. As I waited I watched him take excellent care of the lady he was helping. Just a few minutes later he took a look at my car and determined it was likely salvageable, if I wanted to go that route instead of 'like new.' He tried to fix it on the spot, but it was going to take a bit more time. Then he fit me into his schedule that afternoon. I came back a few hours later and you couldn't even tell I'd tangoed with a yellow concrete pole! And the price he charged was super reasonable!
