After spending $500 + on a large tab, my girlfriend was violently removed from the bar by an egregious looking brunette bartender. After this troll woman cried that my girlfriend was "stealing drinks," we explained to her and the obese bouncer that my girlfriend was buying drinks for over six people and thus was carrying many cocktails at one time. They refused to allow us back in or sette the tab. We fought this claim with our credit card company and won easily. Please do not waste your money on this hole in the wall - the definition of low life bartenders and bouncers will ruin your night and try to steal your money. read more

I came here recently for the 2015 Yelp awards and thought it was a cool place deserving a closer inspection. Had an occasion to come here again recently and this cemented my opinion that this is a great night spot. This is apparently the rebranded Deluxe with many of the same folks. They know what they are doing and it shows. Walking in, this is the typical upscale night club/bar that you would expect to find in Delray Beach. One thing I noted, and appreciated, was that the door staff were actually very friendly. Many times in these types of places they tend to overdo the toughness routine at the door. Not the case here. These guys made you feel welcome. Inside, the DJ always seems to have a good mix on. Maybe this is just more my age range but I appreciated the selections more than many other places. Just the right mix of older and newer stuff. The lighting is a little dim, but let's face it, the human race needs all the help it can get, folks. I did appreciate that they backlit menus to offset the dark atmosphere. I appreciate the whole honeycomb vibe they have going on. It's kind of an odd juxtaposition with the ironic art and birdcages outside, but I think they'll figure it out. For now, it's dark enough that everything works. It's nice to have several areas to choose from. There's a little outside patio, the main bar area, and a lounge seating area. The actual drinks are quite varied and you'll find one to your taste if you experiment a little bit. I stayed safe on my first visit and drank the "Smoking Bulleit", which is a take off on the Old Fashioned. Safe and definitely to my taste. I decided to branch out on my second visit and had the General Pascal. Speaking objectively, it was well balanced and well prepared, just not my personal style. I later tried the Agridulce which was quite good and more up my alley. Play around here and see what you like. You can also ask your bartender to suggest something, of course. Drinks are priced with what you would expect to pay for a craft cocktail on Atlantic Ave. On my first visit during the awards dinner the staff was understandably taxed, so I decided to focus my evaluation on the second visit. My bartender, Daniela (either that or Danielle, I have name amnesia, sorry!), made excellent drinks and was really helpful all around. You can tell the staff here know what they're doing. It was not busy so they were able to take care of me quickly when requested. I'm not a Delray regular but this place is definitely somewhere to try if you get there. I think we came here too early in the evening to really appreciate the true vibe of this place (and subsequently was treated like dirt by bouncers elsewhere). But I really liked what I saw and would come back. You walk in and can tell it's a combo hip hop/EDM type DJ, and the main bar is right in the front in front of the DJ booth. There is a subtle purple backlighting which oddly enough complements the golden accent decor beautifully. There are tables outside along with some seating along Atlantic Ave, which is nice in case you want to sit down outside in case you get a little sweaty inside. The main bar has specials printed on paper and the electronic/backlit menus to order bottle service from-complete with honeycomb leather on the outside. For some reason this mesmerized me, I hadn't seen it in a while. The bartender actually was making fun of me for being so caught up in the menu and was actually pretty cool-an Army vet :D Like the fact that they were so personable. The restrooms here were super clean and had fake "graffiti" all over the walls which I found endearing as well. Walk to the back of the bar-and there is an area where the roof falls out in front of the back bar. I wonder how that works if there is pouring rain. Hmm. Either way, I would like to see how this place is when there is a little more buzz (get it?) and come dancing. We left before there were a ton of people here but apparently this is a better spot to end the night at than begin at-in retrospect I should have done my night in reverse order. I haven't been to Honey in a couple of years because there was a laundry list of reasons not to go there, so, I decided to give it another shot since it's all remodeled and fancy now. Unfortunately some things do not change! * Drinks....overpriced *Bar Service...there was one female bartender that did a good job. The male behind the bar was so interested in watching Ridiculousness on the TV that he should have gone home. Full bar with at least 8 people needing drinks. After waiting for about 10 minutes I finally got the good bartender's attention. She actually told me I could go to the bar outside if I didn't like waiting! My tab was at her register. * Decor....nice bar atmosphere. * Bathrooms....Wait! There's a bathroom? Oh yes, ONE TOILET. Be prepared to wait there too! I guess they are grandfathered in because they didn't remodel it. Bottom line is high prices and poor service is not where you want to be spending your money. There's 100 other places! read more

Been here three times for three different occasions. Great inside space and great DJ! I love how they have different seating areas and it's not all VIP. Front lounge area and side and back. I really dig the decor too, fun laid back vibe. The bartenders could loosen up a bit. I tried to order one of their menu drinks but asked to have the gin changed to vodka and she said she couldn't. The DJ is in rude and disrespectful. My friends were celebrating their birthday and I went up to him to ask if he could give a shout out and he said to back off, and not get close to him. I only got close to him so he could hear me. I respected his request and moved back and he continued to be rude and ignored me. We are paying customers who spent a lot of money that night and I don't expect to be treated in this manner. It was disappointing and my party of 10 and I left soon after. He played good enough music, but he's no DJ Khalid, so he needs to get over himself, and treat paying customers who approach him with respect, My evening left a sour taste in my mouth. Bottom line is the DJ is an asshole, and he's not all that. So he needs to get over himself, and recognize he's providing a service, and as long as the customer is respectful we come first. Came here last Friday night for a late night drink after dinner. There was a dj here with great dance music playing. Because I checked in, my drink was complimentary. The bartender was friendly and great. I ordered an afternoon delight which was great. Stayed for about an hour because we were barhopping the last night we were in delray. Went to Honeys with my wife. I ordered drinks at the back bar. I let this young girl ahead of me to get her drink. She walks away with her drink without paying and the female bartender puts her drink on my credit card. I told her to reverse the charge and the manager adds another drink on instead of crediting my card. When we decided to call it a night, I asked the waitress for my credit card. I sign off on my tab but the same girl as earlier stands next to me. The next thing I know. I look at my receipts the following morning and I have over $200 in charges at a restaurant Il Bacio and my credit card is missing. Be careful with your cc card over there. Try and pay with cash and don't run up a tab. The workers behind the bar are working with outside people to steal your charge card. read more

I have been going to this place many of other times and always have had fun until last night. Although it was a busy night and they were allowing more people in the building than they should currently with our ongoing pandemic situation anyways I had asked the DJ if they were taking request for music. He had the Audacity to shake his head No to playing a song I had requested and to add insult to injury to think or even feel the need to put his hands asking me for money to play for a song seriously??? Are you FUCKING KIDDING ME? You are a Fucking DJ at a Bar number 1. And 2. I probably would've tipped him on my own but the fact that he was just a plain ASSHOLE ABOUT IT!! I was super pissed and ended up leaving. Yeah will shitty attitude buddy but keep thinking your doing a good job meanwhile the music he was playing sucked Ass. Been around one too many night clubs in my day trust me. You should really consider hiring one with knowledge of music selection and a better personality. We came in for drinks on a Thursday and the guy at the door told us that it was $10 all you can drink till it closes when it actuality it was $10 till 11pm and we got here at 10pm... so they lied... then icing on top of the cake was when the door girl told us we had to pay an extra $5 for a cup unless we showed a student ID!!!!! They were rude and showed no customer service, I was appalled and I would rate them 0 stars if I could. The only saving grace is the bartenders, they are the sweetest. If I could give 0 stars I would for our experience. This was the first time coming to HoneyU & I would like to start off by saying I came with my two friends & one is transgender, this place is NOT transgender friendly especially if you haven't gotten your ID changed. I had to fight for my friend to be let in, because the bouncers did not believe her ID was her although she had a wallet full of cards with her name prior to transitioning & she even had her social security card. The bouncers question my friend on why she hasn't gotten her ID changed & one even asked if she had a note from her doctor. Along with one of the bouncers laughing in her face when he saw her ID & whispering to the other one. I'm quite certain that this may have been the first time they've encountered someone who is transgender but laughing as you look at someone's ID?!? I get that people try to use fake IDs to get in but being ID'd & the drama that comes with it is a struggle for transgender people to begin with & a bar requesting someone's doctors note is out of line. Then upon finally getting in we had the HoneyU tickets and had the rudest experience at the bar by one of the bartenders, & that left a bad taste in our mouth as not only was she rude to us but we watched her be rude to other people so that was a turn off. The only positive thing I can say is that Alisha was an angel super sweet, & a great bartender. Other than that based off this experience I WON'T be coming back. read more

This place went down hill FAST. Verna and bottle service girls are amazing. However, Security, bouncer, and management is negligent and aggressive. When I first started coming here I enjoyed the intimacy and class of the completely sectioned off VIP area, so much so that it had become a regular spot for myself and my friends to spend the High price tag to enjoy the experience(buying multiple tables, not just splitting the bill at times). However, this last time I went, I alerted security of the harassment my table was receiving from a fellow patron. Security brushed it off and had the other patron apologize...... 1.5 hours later fellow patron starts a 10 person brawl. Glass being Thrown, people climbing over others to avoid being in the middle, my friend (a female) got punched in the face just by being sat next to the wrong group. Yes they refunded me, but that came with verbal assaults from the bouncer and security team as well as lack luster excuses from management. I feel terrible for the hard working girls who keep this place pace running somewhat smooth. I WILL NEVER SPEND A DIME HER AGAIN. read more

It was so overcrowded (probably a fire code violation) I left before the band even played! Bartenders were annoyed to speak to people. The only friendly people were the check in ladies. Pa Pow! Back at Honey! I love this spot! So classy and elegant and the DJ was kicking for sure! The first time I was here was nearly a year ago when we had our Yelpie awards here. I was impressed then and I am still as impressed now! We were greeted by the manager and I told him I had been here last year for our awards party and he was so pleased to hear that and welcomed me in with a firm handshake and a huge smile. What a generous host. The place was jammed with people drinking dancing and mingling, We made our was to the back where there is an outdoor patio with seating(couches) and a bar. I had 2 glasses of white wine and enjoyed the people watching. I had my cell in front of me and some girl who looked like she was dating one of the bouncers(she had a black sleeveless shorts outfit on and stood by the back fence door. came over and grabbed my phone. I stopped her IMMEDIATELY and said thats my phone. She seemed drunk and had bruises on her arms and at the end of the night I saw she had a BIG BLUE PHONE which looked nothing like mine. Im not sure if she thought she could pull one over on me and steal my phone. Well, she couldnt. As we closed the place at 2 am the DJ took a request I had and played Juicy for me (I had asked for Jay Z but he thought I said Juicy and the crowd hopped and danced. A good mistake I guess. He was fantastic. He really kept the crowd going! Honey is still a fun classy upper scale spot. I love the interior and it really feels like you are inside a honeycomb with the dividing lattice that looks exactly like a honey comb separating the private seating area from the club, A perfect spot to end the evening as everything on atlantic ave closes at 2 am and we were there til the end!
