    spicy tuna roll

This restaurant has a great vibe and ambiance with the decor being loud and music being exactly what you would expect. My only concern is why this restaurant is always so empty when it's so good! We have eaten here a few times now and the food and drinks are consistently delicious. We have sat at the bar everytime so service is great, unsure how service is at proper table. We have had the korean short rib bao, vietnamese chicken bao, pork belly bao, hamachi roll, spicy tuna roll, and multiple of the drinks-all delicious. Especially notable are the banana snaquiri and spicy tuna roll. But, the best thing on the menu is the pork belly bao, absolutely delicious. We frequent this restaurant and will be back. We have seen other tables order a coffee and cookie dessert that looks delicious, next on our docket! Side note, happy hour is excellent.

Went in on Thursday PM, didn't realize it was Ladies Night! We were seated right away. Service was excellent! The staff was very attentive to us. Food was great! Drinks were great.

Cool interesting spot for unique drinks with the coolest bar! I don't usually go for over the top drinks so I played it safe with a Dirty Martini and it was very well made. My friends on the other hand did order all kinds of drinks and absolutely loved them! They offer Japanese fusion food and sushi rolls. While the food doesn't stand out, it was better than I expected. Big shoutout to Ronnie at the bar! His service was top notch and elevated the experience.

Salmon super salty, I had ask for extra teriyaki sauce to bury it

Great ambiance but who ever had Wagu you can't chew? The salmon was super salty and the server was pleasant but took forever every time he brought something. Sorry, but I can't recommend Roka Hula and won't go back.

Took my niece with expensive taste out to dinner here for sushi. It was our first time and I got lucky enough to arrive during happy hour. We marveled at the beautiful decor- flowers covering the ceiling, dark moody interior and velvet seats...very vibey with an almost all female staff. Prices and portions however are pretty ridiculous. The happy hour prices for rolls with only 6-8 pieces were normal prices I pay at other establishments. Maybe it's because you're on the Ave, so it's gonna be pricey, but it was a bit over the top. I did enjoy a nice cocktail there, and despite the price point the rolls were delicious. I'd give 4 stars for ambience and food quality, 3 for value for your money.

We dined here for brunch with another couple and had a very good meal. We sat in a booth outside because my friend was dog sitting and we brought the well behaved dog with us. They offered a dog bowl of water as we ordered our drinks. My husband and I did the bottomless Bloody Mary's which were well made with a little lemon and olive garnish. We had a variety of menu choices since they have all day happy hour if you sit outside or at the bar. They also have a weekend morning brunch menu, and a regular dinner menu. We took some time as there were so many choices. Our server was just alright as he didn't seem to be very enthusiastic as a server. Our appetizer order went in pretty quickly but the food came out in a very random order. The raw tuna sashimi was very quick and very fresh. The pot stickers and shumai were small portions and shareable if everyone shates with the table. The birria eggroll was good because the dipping sauce was good. No star items but all good and fresh. It seems like the kitchen hadn't woken up yet and we're running very slowly. We then put in our brunch order in case that food was really slow too. The restaurant started to fill up and surprisingly the service got better. I ordered from the brunch menu and was so happy I did. The Soft Shell Crab Benedict served on a bed of crab meat and wilted kale on top of a cheesy grit cake was outstanding in portion and flavors. A definite reorder for next visit. My husband and friends all ordered a fried rice bowl with different proteins. The chicken was basic, the short rib was average but the crab was really good and full of crab and Asian flavors. I think there are alot of Asian influenced restaurants on Atlantic Ave but this place really felt authentic in flavors. The decor inside was beautiful and if you check out the bar area, they have some very cool drinks and glassware to enjoy them in. The bathrooms are also pretty cool. This was a fun time and I will definitely return for happy hour next time.

The vibe inside is very aesthetically pleasing with flowers on the ceiling and a dark atmosphere. I did enjoy all of the food we got, but my favorites were the rainbow roll and crab fried rice. At least for the price you get a good amount of crab on the rice. The drinks are very fun and come in fun glasses! Definitely a bit pricey, but enjoyable!

We came in for brunch on Saturday. There's a brunch menu, lunch menu, and a Happy Hour menu so be prepared to be overwhelmed with choices. We started with some drinks; unlimited Bloodys and a Mai Tai for me. The Mai Tai was good but they waste way too much mint in my opinion. We all got appetizers. I got the birria Egg Roll which was delicious. The consomme was perfect. My hubby got the short rib Gyoza which was good but I preferred mine. My friends got a tuna tartare (no pic) and a shrimp and scallop shumai which he enjoyed. The food comes out staggered and there was a big time difference between the first delivered tuna tartare and the Gyoza which was last served. We were all finished with our starters before my hubby received his. Not a big deal as we were in no rush and our server apologized but the restaurant was practically empty so might be an issue when it's packed. For mains we got 3 different fried rice dishes and a crab Benedict which my friend raved about. My hubby loved the pork belly fried rice. I swapped the pork for chicken and it was lackluster and a little too much ginger in the rice for me. My other friend enjoyed his Crab Fried Rice. All in all it was a good meal. I'm definitely coming back for that Birria egg roll. Yummy!!!

the place was beautiful, the soup dumplings had no soup in them, the drinks tasted bad, the doughnut holes were sour like tasted fermented, the drunken noodles were hard. the sushi was the best thing we got.

Beautiful ambiance, very chic and our wait staff is very friendly. My mocktail is $12 taste just like lemonade. Will not order it again tonKatsu is really really good. The sushi rolls are really good also. My friend ordered beef fried rice and she loved it.

New hot spot in Delray alert! Roka Hula has been opened about 6 weeks and seems to be doing really well. You can tell they focus on their service because all of the staff (hostess, servers, bartenders) are all super friendly, attentive, and helpful! We got drinks and Dim Sum and overall really liked it! I would recommend the Gyoza! No dipping sauce came with the gyozas though but there is soy sauce on the table.

We gave this place another try tonight. We were able to get in without reservations which is great. The place filled up quickly. The ambiance was a bit too loud for me and I couldn't hear the waiter or my own conversation. My favorite is still the yuzu roll.

Modern Asian place in downtown Delray. I thought the ambience was OK nice feel to it, the service was excellent our waiter was very attentive and checked often to make sure we were OK. The food was good. The sushi roll was the best thing we had, it was excellent. The crispy rice with tuna was OK I prefer a nice fresh piece of tuna on top as opposed to the tartar mix. The fried rice with crab we had was a little too spicy for me, but did have a lot of crab on it. Overall I definitely will go back and try some different things

After a while our frustration grew, so we walked back over to ask if it was finally our turn -- right as he was seating another couple. Eventually we were seated, but the service only got worse from there. Our server barely acknowledged us. We had to flag him down multiple times just to get basic things like drinks. When we finished eating, we again had to wave him over just to get the check. Even after we boxed up leftovers, no one even offered a bag to take the food with us. Despite the poor experience, we still left a tip because we believe in treating people fairly. However, this level of service is far below the bare minimum you'd expect when dining out. I almost never leave reviews anywhere, but this experience was so disappointing that I felt compelled to share it. If I were the owner, I would want to know that the staff representing the restaurant are delivering service like this. 1/5 stars. Very upset with the experience today. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and improves the level of service here.

We came a Saturday afternoon and the place was nearly empty, yet it took 10 minutes to get a menu at the bar. After our beers, we waited 20 minutes with no attention before asking to be moved to a booth. We were surrounded by dirty booths. Another 15 minutes later, the bartender said he'd be back with menus... and never returned. After another 10 minutes, we got up and paid ourselves. This was during the Delray Tennis Open and peak beach season. I'm a local, and this wasn't my first bad experience, but it will be my last. They seem to survive on doing the bare minimum, and tourists end up paying the price. The only reason for the extra star is the cool signed jersey from Mike Eruzione on display.

Banana Boat -- Boynton Beach (3 stars) Surf & Turf Nachos…read more-- $21 -- "The Mirage Nacho" I only review nachos. That's the whole thing. So I can't tell you about the waterfront, the 40-plus years Banana Boat's been serving Boynton, or the rest of the menu, which, for the record, looked legitimate. I'm here for one plate. The Surf & Turf Nacho sounds incredible on the menu. Filet mignon and shrimp. That's how they get you to $21, and I paid it. Here's what showed up. The filet retired its number after only a few appearances. On a $21 surf-and-turf nacho, the turf scored early and then vanished like a witness in a mob movie. The shrimp came in bigger numbers but arrived whole and uncut, and nobody in that kitchen asked the one question that matters: how does a whole shrimp sit on a nacho chip? It doesn't. It sits on top looking decorative while the chip underneath has an identity crisis. And where would this be without mentioning my old nemesis. Beans. They don't belong on nachos. Ever. If you're using them, you're just trying to make the plate bigger. Maybe you need a big lifted truck too. This isn't a surf-and-turf nacho. It's a nice thought. A dish designed to impress on paper, justify a price, and get photographed; Not to really be eaten as a nacho. It was also a small portion overall. I finished it, but that's not the achievement it sounds like. Finishing a $21 nacho because there wasn't much of it is not a win. It's literally the complaint. Credit where it's due, because I'm not here just to swing: * The queso was actually melted. After a long run of unmelted shredded-cheese disasters around here, that matters. * The guacamole was generous and well made. * It arrived hot, eight minutes out. That counts. * The flavor was genuinely decent. Everything present tasted fine. The problem was what was present, and how little of it there was. The Fork Rule was violated immediately. Rectangular plate, whole shrimp, oversized store-bought chips, everything arranged for the camera. This was never getting eaten with your hands, which means it was never really a nacho. Verdict: 5/10 -- The Mirage Nacho. It looked great on the menu. It tasted decent on the plate. It just wasn't a nacho. The flavor is the only thing keeping it out of the basement. Order it if you want a pretty $21 appetizer. Don't order it expecting nachos.

We never felt rushed and had plenty of time to look over the menu before ordering. We started with the Steak Tartare, served with beer-battered smoked onion petals, truffle, egg yolk, and manchego. It was excellent and one of the highlights of the meal. We also tried the Za'atar Roasted Local Vegetables with spicy greens, feta tzatziki, lime pickles, and pepitas. It was good, but it wasn't my favorite dish. For our entrées, one person ordered the Rigatoni Bolognese with pork and beef ragu, housemade raw milk ricotta, and Parmigiano-Reggiano. It was rich, comforting, and absolutely delicious. We also ordered the Jerk Local Swordfish from Fort Lauderdale with braised Swiss chard, local radish escovitch, and jackfruit miso beurre blanc. While the swordfish itself was cooked well, I wasn't a fan of the jerk seasoning. The flounder, however, was outstanding and probably my favorite entrée. To drink, I had the Les Fumées Blanches Orange Sauvignon Blanc, which I really enjoyed. Someone else had an Old Fashioned. For dessert, we shared the Affogato with mascarpone ice cream, dark chocolate, and espresso, and it was a perfect ending to the meal. The service was attentive without being overbearing, and we appreciated being able to enjoy our meal at a relaxed pace. It is on the pricey side, but that's fairly typical for a farm-to-table restaurant using quality ingredients. There's a small parking lot behind the restaurant, and we were lucky enough to grab a spot. Overall, it's a fun place for a date night or a nice dinner with family. I'd definitely recommend giving it a try. Or if you want, they have a great bar and you can hang out there and have a bite.
