What a treat for our road trip lunch! My husband had the "small chicken fried steak" lunch and I had the cheeseburger with onion rings. The small chicken fried steak was more than generous and oh such tender steak. The burger was so big that I had to bring half for later. The onion rings are what dreams are made of. Lashes was our server and she was so efficient and most friendly. Timing is everything when you are traveling and it was a quick stop. The only thing they didn't serve up was a big old nap after eating all that great food. I would love to come back and try their fried catfish. read more

We have waited 12 years to go into this place! One of the first places J&G wanted to go was called "The Fish Net" , in this location, and that sign stayed up there years and years. Along come these people and 2 weeks ago they open this! The Honey Hole.1 Big place, not enough tables for the business but they are getting more we were told. Good food, American like Chicken Fried Steak, Fried Catfish, Burgers, BLT's and so on. Complimentary beans also. We got the Fried Catfish with Onion Rings and the 1/2 Chicken Fried Steak and split these.....a lot of food! Complimentary beans very good with meat and jalapeños in it. Fried Fish very good but we thought the Onion Rings too much batter or something. Chicken Fried Steak with white gravy very good and just half! The whole CFS is 16oz!.. Lots of options, very good, friendly service, etc....we will be back. We halfed our meals with each other so we could each try it all and after that and the beans..........we did not finish. Although the food is good, I've never been to a restaurant that doesn't have diet drinks. I'll stay away.

Thought we would try something new. We prefer home owned places over chain restaurants. Saw this on Yelp and it had decent ratings. The prices were good and the portions were very filling. Ordered onion rings as an appetizer. They were VERY good. The hubs ordered the chicken fried steak sandwich w/fries. It was loaded with fresh lettuce, tomatoes and sliced onion. He enjoyed it. I had the chicken strip dinner. It was hand cut/breaded and fried nice and crisp. The dinner came with a side salad, Texas toast, and garlic skin on mashed potatoes. Pleasant service. Such a nice and home-y feel to this place with great food! Portion sizes are perfect so you definitely get your money's worth. I have no complaints about the service, our waitress was extremely personable and helped us decide on what to get. I'll be going back for sure. read more

I had all you can eat catfish fillets. Can I say oh my goodness they were delicious and fluffy not too greasy. Cole slaw was homemade, yummy. My wife split a chicken finger basket with GBaby and they both got full on the generous size of chicken. I didn't have any room for dessert because I had 9 pieces of fish and fixings. I tried this place twice. The first night I got the half chicken fried steak. I was barely able to get that down. It is plenty to eat. If you are a big eater, get a large. It was delicious and tender. I had the mashed potatoes and salad to go with it. I liked it so muck I went back the next night and tried again. I went with a catfish plate this round another home run. Just remember if you order one piece of fish you get three if you order two you get four some of the best catfish around this area. The servers are great and friendly. On both occasions the food was cooked fast and received hot. No cold food. You need to try this place. If you haven't. I will continue to go back and try other types of food, however, the fish and chicken fried steak are both home runs. read more

When we travel through Marshal, Tx we try to stop at the Honey Hole for good home cooking. We always get the fried catfish but tried the chicken fried steak this time. Both were very good! The beans and fried fish are terrific ! Chicken fried steak is horrible....more breading than meat and the meat is so thin, it's over cooked. Salad bar is tasty. Haven't tried the hamburgers but I hear they're good. Service is quick and attentive. Location is not so good. Pretty rough looking area. read more

The food was so delicious..It was fresh and home cooked and hot off the stove which i love .. Waitress was very nice and helpful.

Food was not great at all! Food order wrong when it came out. Service was decent but would not recommend.

We were driving through town on the way to a memorial service and wanted some catfish. We both got catfish and it was very good and the owner and waitress very friendly and efficient. Our hush puppies were very good; sweeter than I was used to, but I liked them. The Cole Slaw and the beans were tasty too. Merle H. and Dolly P. playing and lots of small hometown atmosphere. Most of the other customers were getting the HUGE CFS, so when we get the opportunity, we'll try that next. We ate here July 24,2024 on a Wednesday towards the end of the lunch rush. read more

The good news was that our waitress was extremely nice. Everything else was downhill. Simply put, the fried catfish was almost inedible, as was the hushpuppies. The restaurant was filled with smoke. They must not be using vents in the kitchen. Came out of the restaurant smelling like what we just ate. So disappointed in the food, expected better. read more
