They had around 27 scents available, including seasonal options, plus 12 vessel colors to choose from. They said that they do seasonal colors and scents. I picked the holographic vessel, which seemed very popular, and blended moss with smoky sandalwood for a candle I named "Twilight Garden." Everything is self-guided, but the setup is extremely organized. Each table has laminated instruction cards walking you through every step: choosing your vessel, selecting and mixing scents, measuring and pouring the wax, adding glitter and dried flowers, and finally naming and labeling your candle. Some people just drew on the naming labels and I thought that was such a cute idea, I may try that next time. The staff is there whenever you need help, and Amy was especially kind and helpful throughout the process. The space itself is very clean, spacious, and relaxing. They also have a restroom on site. After pouring your candle, you can leave and come back anytime before closing (7pm) to pick it up once it sets. They even trim and bag it for you, which was such a nice touch. There is smeone there to help explain the process and monitor your process, but a lot of it following the steps at the table. It's fairly easy and not hard to follow. We managed just fine, because my sister had completely forgotten how it works. I ended up with a beautiful lychee white tea candle that smells absolutely amazing. I love that you can really customize it. The whole process took about an hour, less if you are efficient and also don't want to wait for your candle to dry. We did, and just chatted at the table a bit. Overall, it was a lot of fun and I would definitely recommend it as a group activity or even a date activity.

The area itself is sort of far out and isolated in Red Hook so coming from queens it was a trip. N to the 7 to the G to a bus then walking. It was a journey but one I was happy to make for a fun experience. The place is actually spacious. It is lined with candles, oils, decor, etc. Its a cute spot. The class was at 4:00 but we started a little later waiting for late people. The class was packed once everyone finally arrived. Kaitlin began the class explaining all the scents and how they compliment each other. Then we were tasked with picking out a vessel and three of the scent profiles to add to our candle. The scents were all in one area and people did not move from the area, having no consideration of others who were waiting to pick their scents. It would have been better if that area was more spread out instead of up so accommodate more people. After finally picking my scents, then came the mixing part. I poured the amount needed to make my right scent which was 50% citrus, 25% fruity amd 25% aromatic. Once I got the desired scent, it was time to mix it into the hot wax and pour into the vessel. The candle took about 30-40 minutes to set so I went across the street for food/drink. When i came back, my candle was packed up and ready to go. I also got to take a Tony's chocolate home. Ive seen other Tony's collaborated events and people left with loads of chocolate so I was sad we only got one bar. I wanted to try all the flavors. It was a fun class overall. Id would like to come back with others one day but its definitely a driving situation rather than public transportation.

It is my 30th…read morebirthday tomorrow and my fiancé had surprised me with a day of festivities in the city and due to the coastal storm that is supposed to hit NJ/NYC tomorrow - we were trying to reschedule all the reservations he had made to 2 weeks ahead. All the other business establishments gave no trouble with rescheduling as we did not want a refund for it. We just don't want to be traveling into the city and walking all day in the rain with flooding as the weather professionals predict. The Artisane Team was very disrespectful and unaccommodating with us trying to reschedule for a future date. Website states their policy: WITHIN 48 hours can reschedule within 12 months and we gave them a date 2 weeks in advance and told us that they could not guarantee spots and we would have to call Artisane the day before. We didn't want a refund and just wanted to reschedule due to the impending weather. What terrible customer service and have no decency for people who have to travel from afar with public transportation and all. Be aware with your reservations and if you're planning to cancel - they don't care so just go ahead and start a dispute with your credit card company. Thanks for ruining my birthday :).
