This place was highly overrated. I don't have an issue for paying higher prices on food as long as it's good. Before I got there I looked at the menu and although there are good choices to choose from for the servings you get in person I wouldn't say it's priced to my liking. I ordered fried green tomatoes the cornmeal batter was the only thing seasoned the tomatoes themselves were not. For my entree I ordered their crab cake benny which automatically comes with a side of the country potatoes. My meal came out everything looked amazing; but when I bit into the poached eggs they were cold. I bit into another part of the egg ice cold . The crab cake was warm but not warm enough to keep the eggs warm. I tell our waiter and he looks at me like I have 3 heads and finally says he'll have them remake it. Maybe about 10 mins later my second plate arrived and I instantly noticed that I have fried over easy eggs instead of poached eggs. I was hungry and did not want to send my plate back for the second time They automatically apply a 20% gratuity to the bill there was just me and my friend. I have been tipping more but since it was automatically applied and not told to us until they brought out the bill I chose not to give any more. Ugh I wanted to love this place so bad but unfortunately it fell short. We came on a Sunday so it was pretty busy, but the food and service was just not there. We started our meal with the deviled eggs and the fried green tomatoes. The deviled eggs were probably the most flavorful item of the meal, we were happy with those. The fried green tomatoes were dry and lacking salt and flavor, I wouldn't recommend ordering them... there's waaaay better ones elsewear in the city. Very small portions. Next we had oxtails and grits and fish and grits. They were decent, nothing I'd come back for really. The oxtail dish didn't have much meat, it was pulled and it seemed like it was mostly sauce. Flavors were decent but the texture was just mushy, nothing crispy on top or anything to break up the mushiness. Lots of large pieces of thyme in it - you could tell the kitchen was rushing and our dishes were slapped together super quick. Fish was OK, a little bland. Same batter as the fried green tomatoes. Just lacking something. Grits were runny and cheesy. We also shared the creme de la creme French toast but... where was the creme? There was so little of the creme sauce we had to drown it in syrup because the French toast was so dry. Again, nothing to write home about. Drinks were decent, nothing overly exciting. Gratuity is included regardless of how many in your party. Overall, we agreed a 7/10 is fair. Would love to see the food elevated and more time put into the dishes, and the service quality improved as well. Maybe add an espresso martini onto the drink list as well. read more

I visited Honey Uninhibited after hearing mixed reviews, so I decided to give it a try myself. I started off with the Henney Rita and Honeys Old Fashioned and immediately sent both drinks back. There was mostly ice, bitters, and mixers in the drink which made them undesirable and overly citrusy/sweet/sour. Considering the cost of the drinks, I would've expected to taste the liquor at least a little bit. The catfish had good flavor and was crunchy on top but soggy on the bottom because it sat in its oil. The jumbalaya was just okay. It gave "Ragu" to me. It tasted like something somebody's auntie threw in a pot to feed the kids and get off her feet- but the portion was nice. Now, I love me some Brussels, however, these Brussels didn't have much flavor as they tasted more "roasted" than anything. My tongue carried that "roasted" flavor all the way home. I also tried the grits. The flavor was great but the grits ran like water. They should serve them up in some track shoes. My server was amazing and the ambiance was great too. Overall, I would rate the food a solid 2, but I give the experience a 3. read more

You can tell the place relies on the hype and tourists. I wanted to reserve a table having never been before but patio seating was listed as unavailable plus a $10 each person in party same day cancellation fee. We decided to just show up and were sat immediately on a Monday noon. Server and foods came out with fine times except not as hot like fresh out the kitchen and it wasn't that busy I still enjoyed my sweet chick which is a crowd fav. My companions settled for the burger and said it was ok. An unseasoned patty but fries are great, though had to ask for condiments for burger. Nice drinks but for the prices I think they can afford some towels to dry/wipe glasses so lip/marks aren't an issue. Don't care to return. 20% gratuity included. However we got seated in the bar - I asked to move because the DJ music was way too loud and the bass way too high. They coud not move us into dining room ... Service was great . Our waitress was friendly and informed. We decided to share the Red cake pancakes they weren't sweet but very fluffy and served warm. The Chantilly cream was delicious. I met up with some friends, and we were super excited to try this new space out. The restaurant is a vibe. They have live jazz outside playing, and some of my favorite R&B and hip hop going on inside. The service was slow, but it was a weekend, so I always give grace. However, it truly took forever to get our drinks and appetizers. The apps were pretty good and same with the cocktails. The cocktails were pricey for the amount you got. The main entrées were all just okay. I had the vegan pecan pie French toast. The portion was small and did not taste anything like peacn pie. One of my friends had the shrimp and grits, and another, the chicken and waffles both were just okay. My other friend did really enjoy her oxtail and grits. However, 1/4 is not good. Our meal ended with us being told we had to leave because the restaurant needed the table for a reservation. One of my friends was not even done eating, and I still had my drink left. We asked when they needed the table to see if we had 15 more minutes to be able to finish, and we were told they could give us maybe 5 minutes. I have never in my life been rushed out of a restaurant like this before. We had been there maybe 1 hour 40 minutes and considering the slow service of drinks and food would have like a bit more time to catch up and relax. I get they are trying to turn over tables and have other reservations at specific times, but the way this was handled was poor. They hostess could have explained prior to seating us that they had another party of six coming in and that they would need the table by a specific time. I have had other restaurants do this before, and then I can decide if I want to stay or go. If I feel like that, there won't be enough time to eat and socialize. Or the waitress and manager could have given us a 30-minute warning while we were eating. The latter isn't ideal, but it is better than feeling like you are being thrown out a restaurant after dropping a nice chuck of change for mediocre service and food. Had it not been for this experience, I would have returned for the vibe and drinks, but now this space is a NO for me and my friends. read more

We flew in last night and were happy to find Honey Uninhibited very close by for dinner. They had only opened a few days ago so they were still working out the kinks but we had a delicious dinner. The host was very patient while we looked at the menu to see if there was something for our picky kid. The restaurant is cute and service was friendly. Unfortunately at that point my kids decided that dining out after a full day of travel was a bad idea (surprise, surprise) so I took them back to the hotel and my husband got our food to go. I was super excited to try Honey Uninhibited! It has a unique southern inspired menu and a cute theme. They are still working on getting their staffing needs just right. Once sat, we were told they were understaffed and it would take 1-1.5 hours for food to come out. Our server did their best, but we sat with either no drinks or empty drinks for a long time. I appreciated being made aware of the situation in advance and the quality service when they were able to get to us. Only come here if you like sweet foods! As in the name, you can imagine it's sweet. Even the drinks are sweet. We ordered the cornbread to share and it comes placed on top of a sweet honey glaze, for example. For my main, I had the half Sweet Chick. The best part was the chicken - it was crispy, cooked well, and a much desired savory component to the dish. I highly recommend going with the half size for this signature item. Overall, this is a solid option if your having a sweet-tooth craving. Both the atmosphere and food were positives in our experience, but the wait just wasn't as manageable as we hoped. read more

That was a no-no because we waited at our new table for 20 minutes before someone came and even gave us water or greeted us. When the waitress finally came, she was not pleasant or helpful, just nonchalant. Two pesty flies were more attentive than the waitress. We placed our order, and the appetizer and meal came out at the same time. The food and drinks were delicious! A young blonde lady came by who was very cheerful and asked how everything was and how we were doing; thanks for that. When the check came, she didn't separate the orders like the other tables. An automatic 20 percent guaranty charge was already added to the check and was non-negotiable. I got a text, and it appeared someone had already left me a favorable rating on Toast. My two stars are for the vibe of this restaurant. We had a party of five dining in and the wait for service was long. The waitress was nice, the food was okay. Our group was having a good time until we were told they needed our table for another reservation and they needed us to leave. Our dining time was less than two hours and while my friends were done eating, I was not. Notifying us of a pending reservation would have helpful or even giving us a space outside on the patio to finish up our food and conversations would have been great. The food took a while to come out, but it was cool because we were enjoying our conversations. As we were finishing our food, suddenly we were told they needed the space and we needed to leave, they came back and gave us an additional five minutes after we requested more time.
