My friends and I had dinner at Atwood during a weekend trip to Cinci and it was delicious. We sat on the patio and tried several different oysters both raw and grilled. I ordered the girl dinner with a salt & vinegar martini. The server was knowledgeable and had some good recommendations. We got the oysters and fish rillette to start. The day we came they had a $2 oyster special! Then got the fish sandwich with caviar, artic char, and hanger steak. My favorite was the sandwich or hanger steak. The steak was cooked perfectly and the sauce paired well with it. One of the best dining experiences I have ever had! I went with my family to enjoy some fresh oysters. We wanted to go somewhere nice to celebrate new years and Atwood was definitely the vibe we were looking for! As for the food, we decided to get a variety of dishes to try all together. The oyster rockefeller were amazing and we also got the whole fish. The French fries were cooked perfectly and paired well with the crème fraîche, chives and caviar! The kale caeser salad was very fresh and there was a great selection of raw oysters. Our waiter was amazing and he did everything to make this experience the best for us! First time trying this out and was pleasantly surprised. Started out with cocktails and had salt and vinegar martini. Excellent!! We ordered dozen oysters of different kinds. Love all the accoutrements. All were good but I'm a sucker for west coast. I had the attic char which had great flavor but friends had the fish sandwich and that was the clear winner. This is a great date night or girls night out for dinner. The place has dim lighting plenty of seating and tentative knowledgeable staff. Our waitress knew the menu well and was able to explain in detail some of the items off the menu to help us decide. Oysters 10/10 Caviar for price 10/10 Drinks 10/10 strong but delicious Staff 10/10 The only thing I didn't like was we made reservations and majority or the time slots were taken. You can name any restaurant in Cincinnati--I've had it. But today, I finally decided to try Atwood Oyster House. Let me tell you... divine. Every dish being served looked incredible, and if it were up to me, I would've ordered the entire menu. My friend and I take weekly walks on Fridays and Saturdays, aiming to hit our 10K step goals while trying different appetizers and happy hours at restaurants we've never been to before. We always end our 10K steps with a protein-rich but healthy meal. Atwood did not disappoint. We started off with a glass of Riesling, the apple cocktail, nine oysters, and the bread & butter. I ordered the mussels, and my friend got the fish sandwich. We ended our meal with the strawberry tart, chocolate torte, and matcha tiramisu. Everything was spectacular. Oh, and the matcha tiramisu? On the house. Why? Because our amazing server, Brandon, saw my excitement and heard me say it's my favorite dessert of all time--so he threw one in for free. Brandon was honestly the highlight of our night. His charm and natural wit truly elevated the experience. He gave amazing suggestions, and even the way he interacted with the table next to us made us love him even more. He was so sweet and knowledgeable about everything on the menu. And not only did he serve food, but looks as well (that haircut is tea). He's your dream server! I came here for a quick drink and some oysters and it was exactly what I was looking for! The bartender was very friendly and recommended a nice white wine for me to pair with the oysters. I wish I saved photos of all of our food, but it was too good to waste my time capturing. The oysters were shucked and cleaned perfectly. Every one of them was amazing. So much so, that we ordered a second dozen. Then after that, we did the caviar, also amazing. Their blinis look to be done in house. They were thin and perfect. we also had their bread with honey butter, only because we could smell it throughout the restaurant, and had no self-control not to order it. So glad we did. And then, after enjoying all of those things, we forgot we had to go to a play, so we ended with delicious french press coffee from deeper roots, along with very good carrot cake. Making reservations was super easy for this place, I was able to make birthday reservations a few weeks prior on open table. There is also outdoor patio for sitting. My group really enjoyed the ambiance and cool light fixtures in the restaurant. They have unique cocktails, one of the drinks we tried had fat mixed with a dark alcohol. I enjoyed an orange marmalade which tasted similar to a spiked lemonade. Oysters were tasty and also caviar was very good and was able to request additional serving cakes. One of the few places I found in Cincinnati to serve whole fish made for a super nice seafood dinner out ! read more

Had an absolutely fantastic meal one recent Friday night at Atwood. Although the weather was unseasonably warm, Atwood's charming patio was cool and comfortable so we opted to sit outside for an early dinner. Seafood is the star at Atwood and several of the seasonal cocktails include a nod to ocean life in some way. I went in a different direction and had a lovely apple flavored drink, while my husband opted for a pumpkin and boba concoction. Both were inventive, delicious and refreshing. I'd never had an oyster before and our server expertly walked us through the options, which range from $4-$5 each and include a shucker's choice. The oysters were fantastic and came with exquisite sauces to pair them with, including cocktail sauce, a spicy red sauce, gorgeous horseradish, a champagne-based concoction and lemons, of course. We ended up ordering two rounds. The patio features a grill and our server made our steak sandwiches just beyond where we were seated. These sandwiches were so, so good. They featured beautiful bread from a local bakery, exquisite tarragon aioli, greens, onions and a lovely piece of steak. It was more than enough for dinner. We could not have asked for better service and had a fantastic time during our visit. The patio is seasonal so you need to check that it's open before going. Recommended. read more

Had an exceptional meal at Atwood Oyster House! We had 6 PM Saturday Dinner reservations which I was very happy we booked as the place filled up quickly. We started with two dirty martinis and loved the glasses that they came in. For food we started with a dozen oysters - these oysters were AMAZING. Each one had such a unique, strong flavor. You could really tell the difference between them and that was greatly appreciated. At other oyster houses I have had trouble tasting the difference between the oysters we order, but not here! Each oyster was bursting with great flavor! They were also HUGE! Some of the largest oysters I have had in a long time. After our oysters we opted for/split the Winter Salad ($13) and the Potato Mille-Feuille ($8). The potato was very flavorful and you could really taste the fontina in it. We both paired the salad and potato with a glass of wine. The staff paced our food perfectly and we never felt rushed. They were also very accommodative for food allergy questions. The atmosphere is crisp and clean, but moody. We loved the low lighting and all of the wood accents. It did get a little loud as the night went on and more people were dining, but it was never too loud where you felt you were yelling. Okay Atwood! I see you. We just had our first meal this evening and it won't be our last. My husband and I shared oysters, the pimento cheese, focaccia bread, winter salad, sea bass, and crab rice. We talked about what we liked the most and we couldn't rank them. Each dish was outstanding! It was fun to try so many things and have every one of them be a standout! Atwood is housed in the heart of Over-The-Rhine and features oysters as the star mollusks. Oysters are A La cart and are worth trying for the full experience, without having to travel to the coast! I can't say my palette is refined enough to discern each of the oyster flavors they have but they were nonetheless great and how I remember when I've tried them in Boston! Beyond that, the Artic char (looks like salmon) was impeccable with its dressing. Finally, we shared caviar which came with what look like mini pancakes and other dressings. It was phenomenal. 1000% worth trying the caviar, especially with friends, although it's probably more suitable to two people. They look to have nice outdoor seating. Service was good but I detected a bit of annoyance from the server while we decided what to order and it took awhile to get the appetizers and entrees.
