Blue Raspberry Homemade Slush Large and Mango Slush with Soft Serve Ice Cream Large
    Megan W.

This is a neighborhood staple. I fear I gained many pounds during slush king season, but how could you not. After 2 years, 3 roommates, and 2 boyfriends, a strawberry Sunday with hot fudge or the root beer galati are the best orders. There is always a line on a nice evening but it's worth the wait and goes quick. The ladies working here are nice and quick service. And there are a few benches out front to eat on if you want to stay but most people take it to go.

Absolutely understand the hype! This little ice cream shop in Eastie is serving up some delicious sweet treats - ranging from slushes, gelatis, soft serve, and even fresh ice cream sandwiches! Because Slush King is a neighborhood staple, definitely expect a line when you stop by, but the staff are pretty quick and efficient. I ordered a soft serve swirl with rainbow sprinkles in a cup, while my boyfriend tried the rum raisin gelato. Everything is priced very reasonably and the taste is even better! I'm pretty particular about soft serve, but this has to be my favorite I've tried in Boston so far.

Updated menu with credit card surcharge information included

Soft serve was great! Really good quality ice cream. I was irked at the credit card surcharge fees that they are charging which add 7% to the bill

Slush king - love their ice cream. So many options, such nice service & reasonably priced. Somehow we end up there more often than we should ! It just hits the spot on a sunny hot day.

Great soft serve and gelato in East Boston for reasonable prices. I loved my large stracciatella gelato sundae with hot fudge, whipped cream, crushed nuts, and a cherry. It was heavy on the whipped cream but still very good. My friends loved their ice cream sandwiches as well!

My go to spot since they opened. Delicious, great price & value / frappes are a repeat order for me (even tho you'd benefit from a larger straw) I still come here & buy my milkshakes! Family loves the brownie sundae & fried dough

Medium watermelon and lemon. Perfection. And like 3$....

Best slush ever. Wish this place was open more often... I really like the grape slush, and of course watermelon and lemon. I like they have real fruit flavors and the classic artificial you sometimes need. It's the best place to go and spend 4$ on a big cup of cold goodness.

I love this place I go all the time and get the mango slush in a quart size. My roommates also love to come here

Gelati was amazing!!! 10/10 recommend. It is any flavor icee with either soft serve or gelato on top!

So glad I found them. Perfect on a sunny day and you can tell that they use all natural and it's delicious. Our favorites were the lemon, passion fruit, and guava. The mangonada was good but I think the tajin overpowered the mango too much. Looking forward to coming back and trying their soft serve.

Shocking to find such smooth, delicious gelato at a very inexpensive price. Try the amaretto!

I built my own with custard fish, twist ice cream, caramel sauce, and Oreo crumbs. Beautiful presentation and honestly delicious. The cone smelled and tasted so great. The custard is more of a cream but still good. Where I'm being picky: the cone could've been a little crispier and the toppings were pretty minimal. I couldn't taste or see any of the caramel sauce and the Oreo dust is so fine I think I inhaled more of it into my lungs than I actually ate. I wish it was actual mashed up pieces not fine dust. We will definitely be back though! I just won't get Oreo crumbs next time.

We got our ice cream and ate out in the courtyard area, seaport is such a nice place. I got a matcha soft-serve in a taiyaki cone with red bean, and my bf got a vanilla one. The ice cream and taiyaki fish tasted great, my only gripe was how incredibly messy it was to eat. There was such a large volume of ice cream in the cone itself that I wasn't able to eat fast enough and it started melting all over my hands and arms. Like it was crazy. I was eating this ice cream like an animal. It would be nice if they served this with a cup or something. So I just feel like if you're not someone who can inhale a giant ice cream this is not for you. I would just get a plain taiyaki fish treat with ice cream on the side.

I've heard folks raving about this place for years, so finally decided to swing by and try it out…read more First off, must say I'm a bit of a skeptic regarding specialty ice cream shops: with one exception (a now-defunct "frozen custard" shop in Friendswood, Texas of all places, where you could see the super-dense/rich stuff glacially oozing out of the machine, and one milkshake's worth of it kept me full for the rest of the day!) I have yet to find any that are significantly better than ordinary Haagen Daz from a supermarket. In fact, most ice cream parlour ice creams aren't even as good, while costing orders of magnitude more than supermarket H-D! Toscanini's is close to equal to H-D in my book...and mainly for the fact that they offer some truly unusual and original flavors: we had the Mango Sticky Rice, Burnt Caramel, and Kulfi. My friend who enjoyed the first one the most, quickly tired of the second, and the third was my favorite by far, mainly because I love cardamom and saffron so much. I was somewhat conflicted with the Burnt Caramel...first taste was delightful, but halfway through the novelty faded away for the most part. We both appreciated that the ice cream was not hyper-sweet like JP Licks, though. HOWEVER, the extreme creaminess, density, and dry mouth-feel of H-D was just not there, as usual. I'd describe the texture of Toscanini's ice cream to be fairly ordinary, like a typical soft/smooth gelato texture. Not bad, but not anything I would really write home about. YMMV of course. Otherwise, service was good and the place is clean and pleasantly modern inside, with 3 nice new steel benches to sit at outside. The benches are curiously turned AWAY from the street, I suppose to foster more of a "communal" vibe and people-watching opportunities. I've walked by during peak hours and seen it quite full, so this place clearly is still quite popular. At $8.25 for 3 scoops (albeit fairly generous sized scoops) of oh, 8 out of 10 ice cream, I don't see myself ever becoming a regular here despite the undeniably interesting/unique flavors, unless I came mainly for the people-watching opps on a nice weather day.

It's probably because it's a block from the Freedom Trail near Paul Revere's house and popular Italian restaurants and shops. If you see people walking around with a white (multiple cannolis/desserts) or blue (single cannoli) box tied with string, you know you must be nearby a Mike's Pastry. Though the line gets long, it does move quickly, and there are periods where it's not so crowded inside. It's cash only at this location. I didn't think I'd be here that day and realized I didn't crab enough cash but saw the sign for Uber Eats and GrubHub pick up, so I just placed an order for pick up from my phone on Uber Eats. It took about 5 minutes when I got my cute blue box order. There is a Bank of America down the same street if you need to withdraw cash which I later did. I'm sure there's also ATMs nearby. I think it's easier and quicker to order through Uber Eats or GrubHub and pick up. I've been here once before about 12 years ago. I tried the pistachio cannoli that time and loved it. This time, I wanted to try a different flavor, so I got the hazelnut cannoli. It didn't have the nuts I was expecting from the photo on the wall. It didn't quite taste like hazelnut to me at all. I regretted not trying something else. I eventually did at Hub Hall (another food hall) connected to North Station. This location is a little more expensive by $1-2 for cannolis compared to the one in Hub Hall and sells other desserts like turnovers, donuts, croissants and sticks if you don't want a cannoli (but then why come here for anything else?) There's also nowhere to sit.
