RANCH HAND SANDWICH and MAC & CHEESE

Inside the awesome Assembly Food Hall. Hubs got the Ranch Hand sandwich with Mac n cheese side. The sandwich was fine, nothing to write home about. Mac n cheese was delish.

Atmosphere 5/5 - This place is located in the Assembly Food Hall which is a cool spot off Broadway. Lots to choose from and it has indoor and outdoor seating options. Food 4/5 - Chopped brisket sandwich was ok. Meat was flavorful, but the bun was cold. I ended up ditching the bun. White queso mac n cheese was nice and creamy. Service 2/5 - I was standing in the front to look at the menu and an employee told me to move back towards ordering area. When I said I was looking at the menu, she was not very friendly. The cashier was fine, but wasn't paying much attention and put a set of utensils on my plate and then added another one in my cup. I nicely returned one set and he grabbed it to throw it back in the bin. I'll be back to this food hall, but not to this booth.

Lots of options! I was given the opportunity to taste the coleslaw since I couldn't decide. It was excellent and I chose it. Then I was told about the green beans with brisket. Had to have those too. I chose the brisket sandwich. Very flavorful. Customer service was great.

The BBQ here isn't bad, especially considering it's located in a mall-style setting like the Assembly Food Hall..but it doesn't quite measure up to some of the top BBQ spots in Nashville. I wasn't a fan of how the brisket was minced in my sandwich; it came out a bit dry and could've definitely used more of that tasty BBQ sauce they offer. On the plus side, the slaw was pretty good, and the service followed suit. I really like the overall concept of the Food Hall. It's clean, spacious, and offers plenty of seating with charging outlets, free WiFi, and TVs showing whatever big game or event is on. It's a cool spot to hang out, and as far as I know, there isn't any direct BBQ competition within the hall. That said, if I find myself back at Assembly Food Hall, I might explore a different vendor just to try something new.

Buffalo jones best chicken sandwich I've ever had. And the mac and cheese with the queso... chefs kiss. Come and experience this before you leave Nashville. They know what they are doing.

I have followed HoneyFire on social media for a while but haven't had the opportunity to have it due to not living in the area, but that was remedied recently and I am damn glad it was! I had the Big Cheesy which is the macaroni with a bed of protein of your choosing on top. I had the brisket and it might've been the best brisket I've ever had... yes I've had your brisket, Texas! It's been over a week since I've had it and I'm trying to find a reason to visit Nashville again to have more. I added the baked beans because they sounded good and they were a perfect blend of sweet and spicy. My wife had the pulled pork sandwich with green beans. The pork was pretty standard and solid, while the green beans were awesome as well. It was also our first time to the Assembly Food Hall, which I think I could spend all day there. Live music, great food and awesome vibes.

    BUFFALO JONES SANDWICH

HoneyFire BBQ is an absolute gem in downtown Nashville. Tucked inside the food hall off Broadway, it somehow manages to outshine just about everything around it. You can watch your meal come together right in front of you. Like dinner and a show, but with way more delicious smoke involved. I went for the Buffalo Jones chicken sandwich and it was perfection. The chicken was seasoned beautifully with a subtle smoky depth, then absolutely pampered in ranch and buffalo sauce, with a swipe of mustard and some seasoned jalapeños that brought just the right amount of kick. It sounds intense, but the heat stayed friendly. More high-five than slap in the face. The coleslaw was creamy, tangy, and exactly what you want next to a sandwich that's doing the absolute most. Service was lightning-fast and everyone behind the counter was genuinely pleasant. If you're browsing the food hall and debating where to eat, just save yourself the decision fatigue and head straight to HoneyFire BBQ. You'll leave happy.

This place is one of many food vendors at Assembly Hall. I loved their pull pork and my 3 friends had Brisket and were all very happy with their choices. Staff was pleasant and quick.

What can I say other than it was so good! Ribs were tender and fell off the bone. It was full of flavor, and the sauce was sweet. The southwest bbq salad was huge and so filling with generous portions of pulled pork. Service was also quick. No picture of the ribs since it was gobbled up instantly.

Great, friendly service and environment. The restaurant is clean and a great environment for a family outing with kids! Outdoor seating has a turf lawn area for kids to run and play. Food is wonderful, and great side options. Everyone can find a favorite on the menu!

Great place. A bit pricy for the abundant bbq selections in Nashville. I went more than once in my week there.

You've got the Jack Cawthon's legendary…read moreJack's Bar-B-Que, pitmaster Carey Bringle's incomparable Bringle's Smokin' Oasis, and then you have Edley's. For the longest time, Bringle's was my absolute favorite in town, but Edley's may have just managed to take the crown. I almost feel like I'm cheating on Mr. Bringle by saying that, but as he famously put it, "You don't have to hate somebody else's barbecue to like mine." My default order at any top-tier joint is either a brisket plate or a multi-meat combo platter with brisket as the anchor. Edley's plates come properly equipped with two sides and a slice of cornbread. Where they really set themselves apart, though, is the menu flexibility: -The Add-Ons: You can throw on a $5 upcharge to add an extra 3 oz of meat or a jalapeño cheddar smoked sausage. -Burnt Ends: Edley's offers burnt ends, which is a bit of a rarity in town and something you don't easily find over at Jack's or Bringle's. If they're available when you order, grab them. Price-wise, Edley's isn't cheap, but it's far from overly expensive. It sits at fair market value, costing roughly what you'd pay for a comparable meal at any of the other major players in Nashville. The meats are high quality, wonderfully smoked, and packed with deep flavor. Beyond the rare burnt ends, the sauces here are what truly elevate the meal. Across the board, Edley's house sauces--from their classic red to their white sauce--are probably my personal favorites in the city. Between Jack's, Bringle's Smokin' Oasis, and Edley's, you genuinely cannot go wrong--Nashville barbecue is in great hands. But right now? Edley's holds my top spot. It is my ultimate "treat yourself" meal in town.

I had the brisket tacos, which were flavorful, though a little dry. I am giving grace here because it was takeout and possibly was much more moist prior to transport. I did like how the toppings brightened things up: cheese, slaw, pico de Gallo, bean salad, and fried jalapeños. I also had the Nashville hot link, a smoked sausage with house made spicy pimento cheese and pickled jalapeños. It was indeed pleasantly spicy. We shared some fries, which were hot, crisp, and well seasoned. They also have ribs, wings, bbq nachos and fries, fried pickles, bbq chicken and turkey, various sandwiches and platters. They also offer Nashville's staple hot chicken in platter, sandwich, and taco form. Catfish is another option, in all the same varieties. Sides: cornbread, Mac & cheese, baked beans, green beans (in bone broth and bacon). Cold sides such as bean salad, potato salad, Cole slaw. They also have a couple desserts and salads available, as well as a kids menu. Very affordable, as we got meals for 15 people for only 230 dollars.

I found myself over at Bellevue for dinner, 2 hours before my hockey game. I wanted quality food…read morebut not super carb heavy but also not something that could potentially wreck my stomach. After all, can you imagine having digestive problems while playing hockey? I love barbecue so I thought I'd try this place. I walked in and it wasn't at all busy at 5:32. However when I finished my order, the line was out the door. I asked the cashier what was good and the manager (maybe owner) walked over and I asked him. I wanted ribs or brisket, but needed a 2nd opinion. He said he would choose brisket because theirs is USDA Prime and he would put it against any other barbecue restaurant in Tennessee. Those are some bold words. So I ordered the brisket platter (fatty portion) with green beans and cinnamon baked apples. What I received was 3 good sized portions (1/2 pound) of fatty brisket. The meat was tender, melt in your mouth without an overbearing amount of fat clumped together. The bark was salty and very peppery. It was actually good enough to eat without a sauce. Speaking of, there was only one sauce on the table, so I used that. It was a sweet sauce, definitely honey-based but not overly sweet like other honey-based sauces I've had in the past. The thing is I love everything honey-related, so I would definitely buy this to take home. It was so good, I was scavenging for brisket fibers on my plate. So I praised the brisket but I think the shocker was the green beans. These were hands down, the best green beans I've ever had...ever. Salty, tender, peppery, with chunks of meat and fat, sprinkled with Parmesan cheese. Who would have thought that a side could be that good? Last but not least, the Cinnamon Baked Apples. I love baked/fried apples. Something about the tart and sweetness brings me back every time. The apples were soft, but not mushy. I would have liked them to be a little more tender and more slices of apples. I think there was more sauce than apples but nevertheless, they were great. Overall I'm glad I visited Honeyfire for the first time. I'm here often (near Bellevue) so I'll definitely be coming back again and again.

Almost a month later and I'm still dreaming about the food! My husband and I shared the platter where you choose 3 proteins and 2 sides. But they have made some bizarre changes lately. I use to LOVE their cornbread. But they changed it for some reason & not nearly as good as it use to be. They also got rid of the ghost pepper bbq sauce. Still mad about it. It was my favorite sauce. The Nashville sauce is great. Very good. But damn do I miss that ghost sauce. I bought up every bottle they had left when I found out they weren't making it anymore. I've used it sparingly but I'm on the last bottle. Also, if u order for pickup, they randomly run out of stuff & don't tell you. I'll place & order online & when I get there find out they're out of something. Which is a bummer when you are ordering in bulk for several people. All in all though, still my favorite bbq when I don't want to take the time to do it myself. Definitely recommend it.
