1/2 rack dry rub ribs. Pulled pork sandwich, coleslaw, baked beans, Mac n Cheese, French fries
    Lisa S.

You order at the counter and wait for your name to be called, which doesn't take long. We had a pulled pork sandwich with was juicy and tender. The ribs are the dry rub and the seasoning hit all the taste buds. The meat was tender and fell off the bone. Difference of opinions on the Mac and Cheese, I felt it was to liquid and my husband said they were perfect and cheesy. We both agreed on the backed beans and coleslaw are a must order.

We came to Peg Leg Porker to dry their Memphis style ribs we heard lots about. When you step in you see all the trophies and awards they have won for their bbq. We ordered a half rack of ribs and a peach fried pie. The ribs were solid and the meat was fell off the bone with each bite or when pulling the individual ribs off the rack of ribs. The ribs weren't very tender which may have been due to the cut we got or maybe most of the fat was trimmed off during prep. Memphis style bbq uses a dry rub rather than wet. The rub at Peg Leg Porker was decent, but during our trip we tried another bbq restaurant called Martin's whose dry rub I prefer. The peach fried pie was solid, it reminded us of a toaster strudel. The service was quick as we got our food very fast. There is a lot of indoor seating and a good amount of outdoor seating as well. The noise level was moderate, which allows you to have a conversation with your party without having to yell. I would consider coming back the next time I'm in town to try some of their other offerings.

Food is fine. About what you would expect. Nothing was amazing but we did not get the ribs which I now know we should have. I ordered the Kool-Aid pickles though, not knowing what they were, just to try something new. Asking about them at the counter... "I don't know what you like." They tasted like pickles but pink. Not worth $6.

It was good. A vibe with a patio and long line, worth the wait. The ribs were great, so was the pulled pork. Hot sauce actually does have some kick. Potato salad was basic, Mac was very loose, beans were ok. Overall a good spot.

I would guess this may be the best BBQ in Nashville! We ordered at the counter and then find a seat, and there is an outdoor patio too. There is a couple of parking spot available and we were lucky to snag one! Otherwise street parking is available. What we ordered: + Pork rinds - very crunchy, nice and light, good seasoning. Dip it in the mac & cheese and its perfection. + Full rack dry rubbed ribs - the center was good tasty! A nice dry rub, and was juicy. The ends were a little dry but that's expected. + Jalapeno cheddar sausage - delicious taste and good texture, slightly juicy. + Smoked Green Beans - was OK, had a good taste and are on the softer side + Mac and cheese - very creamy and more smooth. I liked the shell pasta shape here too! + BBQ beans - strong BBQ flavor, also on the softer side + Special was the fried pork ribs - I would stick to the dry rubbed personally. Overall a tasty meal and plenty to share with 4 people!

This was a short walk from our hotel, so an easy spot to pick especially since we eat a lot of BBQ. Nice outdoor seating on a large deck and lots of seating inside. Order up at the counter and they call your name when its ready. Friendly staff taking and handing out the orders. The bar is on the opposite side, also order there. Guy behind the bar was ok, more intent on closing duties than being very helpful. I went for the chicken wings with green beans. They were LARGE! I got four full wings and a generous portion of smoked green beans. The wings were crispy which is a must in my book and lots of rub for great flavor. What took top billing for me were the green beans, I loved them! Great smokey flavor, I couldn't stop eating them. Great meal, in a pleasant space. good stuff!

The BBQ is on point...or peg? The ribs are a tremendous standout for all the BBQ places in town! Tender with layers of flavor. And all of the sides were that feel-good-homestyle-not-an-afterthought, particularly the mac n cheese, green beans, and potato salad. The koolaid pickles were interesting, and despite the color, really tasted more like a regular pickle. The yardbird a different BBQ chicken presentation but kinda just ok; it seems to be popular otherwise as they thought they were sold out to start. Sadly, the counter service could have been less aloof and uninterested, especially since that is about the only interaction you have with staff and with so many folks that come by as tourist looking to experience that "real TN BBQ" could been a bit more southern hospitality. That said, someone did come by the table to ask if everything was good and gave us some stickers which was nice for our out of town friends and was more of that customer interest & hospitality one hopes for.

Went on a Friday night. Line was about a 10-15 minute wait to order. Waited about 10 mins for food at the window. Food was served hot, and tasted great. I had pulled pork and my husband had the ribs. I love that they let you sauce on your own. Their homemade sauce was also delicious. Kool-aid pickles also hit! I think parking in the area at dinner time was the hardest part. With so many places in Nashville I would try something new next time. However if you are in the area, worth visiting. I love that it's family owned and ran (not part of a chain.)

Our first time visiting Nashville (where my daughter now lives) we wanted to try a great BBQ place!! We found a gold mine!! Food was FANTASTIC! Staff & service was super friendly and the ambiance was great!! My husband who's a chef even got a quick tour to the kitchen and back to the Masterpit!! He loved it!! I highly recommend this place if you're in Nashville!

I've been to Nashville many times, but this was my first time coming to Peg Leg Porker and it was a nice visit! It's the typical "TX style" BBQ joint, with many tables inside, concrete/cinder block walls, a walkup counter to place your order, and a soda fountain to fix your own drink. But they only serve pork and chicken here, no beef. I asked the lady at the cashier what was best and she suggested the pulled pork sandwich, which I got. I saw they had mac & cheese and asked her what she thought of it... she said it was great, so I got it. I got their fries, since they offered crinkled cut fries and I also got an order of their smoked/baked beans, as I love baked beans. The sandwich was amazing - 10 out of 10! The baked beans looked like they were watery and bland, but WOW, that flavor floored me... 11 out of 10! The mac & cheese looked and tasted like Velveeta Shells & Cheese - I wasn't impressed... 3/10. Lastly, their crinkle cut fries were luke warm and soft... 2/10. Overall, it was a nice visit and I'd most definitely return. Their sauces were just OK, but the combination of the great pork and beans was something I found satisfying.

Pulled pork sandwich, potato salad and baked beans.

Excellent pulled pork sandwich. The pork was so fresh and tender on a soft brioche type bun. Beautifully smoked baked beans that melted in your mouth. Potato salad was so good. I would go back again and again. It looks small from the outside but has Outside seating and loads of inside seating with good a/c.

Great meats being smoked here at Peg Leg. My chicken was extremely moist and flavorful. The potato salad was delicious and the baked beans were scrumptious. Plenty of parking and the bathroom was clean. Tons of beer and spirit options. Definitely coming back next time I am in Nashville.

I liked the BBQ, but it wasn't by far the greatest I've had. Don't worry, you will still get some tasty food, but I don't understand the line. I was there in December so it might have a whole other vibe when it's warm, but I thought the place was ok. It gets 4 stars because the food was good, the portions were generous, and the service was pretty excellent for a BBQ place. I don't know if Tennessee BBQ is well known, but it didn't knock my socks off like other places. Of course I will come back. If this is an icon, might as well check it out. I can safely say that it will be worth your time

It paired perfectly with the BBQ sauce and those baked beans? OH MY GOD. The baked beans were seriously the star of the meal for me.. sweet, smoky, flavorful, and completely addicting. I could've eaten a whole bowl by myself The mac & cheese was also creamy and delicious, just solid comfort food all around. My husband loved his chicken too. I opened the foil to find 2 nicely sized slices of brisket. I couldn't help but to notice how subtle but effective the smoke profile was. The more of it I ate, the more I could tell that it was smoky and tender and just flat out solid! My expectations were greatly exceeded. This time, we switched things up and hit it for lunch instead. Good call. We grabbed seats at the bar, where Todd was holding down the fort. The guy was outstanding. Drinks never sat empty, food came out smoothly, and he somehow managed to be attentive without hovering over us every five minutes asking if everything was okay. My wife started with the Nashville Margue, which goes down way too easy for something packing moonshine. Light, refreshing, and carrying enough kick to remind you you're in Tennessee. Then Todd introduced us to a Bloody Mary made with a new pickle-infused vodka. Now, that sounds like one of those ideas that should either be amazing or a complete disaster. Turns out it's amazing. My wife loved it so much she's already talking about coming back tomorrow for another one. For food, we started with the pretzels and beer cheese. Simple. Warm. Soft. Salty. Exactly what you want while settling into a Nashville afternoon. Nothing fancy, just done right. Then I went all in on the mac and cheese topped with Nashville hot chicken. Yee Haw. Creamy mac and cheese. Crispy chicken. That signature Nashville heat. Comfort food with a little attitude. Just the way it should be. The best thing about The Stillery is that it knows exactly what it is. Good food. Good drinks. Good people. No gimmicks. No trying too hard. Just a fun place to sit down, relax, and enjoy yourself.
