I ordered two stir-fry lunches from honeygrow via Caviar, and was it was.. kind of disappointing. My bf got the CYO shrimp stir fry, and he mentioned some of the shrimp weren't cooked thoroughly. Also, regular sauce was ordered for both dishes, and they were wayyy drier than expected. Besides those issues, my chicken stir fry was tasty, and they do give a good amount of noodles. Overall, I expected better based on the reviews, but I'm hoping it's because I ordered online. I'm willing to try honeygrow again, however will definitely make the trip there instead. read more

Thank you Rashel and the gang at Honeygrow. I'm addicted! Between the Walnut Noodle salad and the Spicy Garlic stir fry, I have dinner almost every night. Right off the train at Court Street/Borough Hall, the food is always delicious and fresh. Some of the staff is still learning so it's not a bad idea to check your order before you leave. But tonight when I got home and realized my order was missing a few items, Rashel took great care of me asap! Whipped up a new salad and it looks amazing. Thank you to DJ who is service with a smile...pretty soon they will be flawless but give it a try now. You will definitely be back for more! Quick and casual spot to get noodles or salads. You can choose your own ingredients. The noodles I had were very tasty, but also pretty salty, which was not ideal since it seems to be marketing itself as a healthy place. But the food was fresh and definitely worth trying again. read more

It's OK. I was expecting more vegetables with the stir fry. It's pretty much all noodles. If you're are in the mood for some Chinese lo mein, getting one of the noodle based stir frys is a great healthy alternative to the salty and MSG-laden alternative. However, eating a box of noodles with a couple of pieces of broccoli is not what I consider a healthy dinner. Much prefer the bowls at bGood. The salads were fine but not life altering. I come to this place for lunch every so often, and it's always delicious. But the real reason I come in because of one of the staff members. His name is Brad and he's always got a smile on his face. He makes everybody who walks through the door feel welcome even though half of them are just picking up to-go orders. I've worked in food service at numerous places and I know what it takes to be friendly and welcoming. He's attentive and extremely helpful and while some people can fake that, it's easy to see when someone is being authentically helpful and accommodating. Promote this man right now!! :) read more

I had a very sad lunch from here - my colleagues and I ordered 3 different stir fries via Caviar and all were lackluster. None of ours had enough sauce or veggies to integrate with the noodles - I had 3 florets of broccoli and a little bit of chicken with a bowl of plain rice noodles. If there was coconut curry in there I didn't taste it. Same with my colleagues. Based on the good reviews of this place I am guessing we just had an off-day lunch, but maybe better to visit in person rather than order from so you can ask changes to the dish. read more

If this is your first time there it can be hard to figure out when your order is ready if you don't see the board and there is little guidance. I visited Honeygrow for the first time last week and I've been back for the past 3 days! Portion sizes are reasonable for the price you pay and you get to customize your bowls if you want ! Stopped by today on my way home before the storm hit. My friend had the cobb salad which was so delicious,we got the honey ginger dressing which was just a tad tangy and a bit sweet. I had the Red coconut Curry with jalapeno and pineapple. Wow it was so good. Spicy fresh and down right superb. The staff was friendly , Our food came out quick. Awful is the only word I can use to describe the quality of both my experience and the service at this restaurant. I ordered a honeybar yogurt bowl and not only did it take 30 minutes to receive my whopping 8 dollar order, the cup was half full and missing the yogurt. To my disappointment I walked back to the restaurant to get the correct order or a refund and the woman working told me I needed to select the extra 60 cent option to buy special maple yogurt if I wanted to receive any yogurt next time. I can assure you there will not be a next time. I was also pleasantly surprised when I noticed they missed one of the three ingredients that ended up in my cup, candied pecans, (that I paid extra for) in my order in addition to the yogurt. In total I paid 8 dollars for a half filled sprinkle of granola and a few strawberry slices that took half an hour to prepare, accompanied by rude customer service and no refund nor any additional toppings that were missing when I kindly told the worker my order was wrong. I am astonished by the unprofessional work ethic and embarrassing handling of the situation. read more

I had a stir fry here last night. I'm not sure if it was the sauce or the cooking preparation method, but it had a terrible, almost chemical taste to it. It may be because they use the same pan repeatedly, so the oil had gotten old and gone bad? Or it could have been because the entire pan of food caught fire while being cooked? I don't know, it tasted kind of like lighter fluid or something, so I did not eat it all. I definitely do not recommend the stir fry or the coconut curry sauce. read more

I had the coconut curry stir fry. It was good but lacked spiciness and deep flavor. OK, but not worth going out of your way for. Was so excited to try this spot. We went there and the staff knew nothing about the menu, which I was understanding of given that the place is new and I used to work myself in the service industry. I was really patient as they told me their limited selection of meats and worked with them to get an order together despite their lack of knowledge about their own menu. I had my service dog with me the entire time that I ordered, and the prepared my friends food along with mine. The drinks were fine, my sandwich wasnt great and was a waste of money. Anyways. After waiting a while for our food to be ready even though we were the only people in there, they REFUSED TO SEAT US indoors OR outdoors BECAUSE OF MY SERVICE ANIMAL who is highly trained and well behaved. I explained that this is discriminatory and illegal, and they gave me some bs about the kitchen... My service animal was closer to the kitchen when they were taking my money and had not mentioned to me that they would refuse to allow us to sit after paying for food at the establishment. This was never a problem and never mentioned until AFTER they took our money. If they were going to discriminate against me and refuse to seat me I would have took my service elsewhere. and their excuse for illegally refusing to serve someone despite NYC disability law- was complete BS given that my service dog was closer to the kitchen when they were taking my money and she would have been outside with me if being seated in the establishment or further from the kitchen seated away from it in the indoor seating. this was discriminatory and illegal. Which I had kindly explained as well and they could not care less. I was super patient and understanding given my own background in the service industry and knowing that they were new. Merely explained as a Nyc citizen with disabilities that what they were doing was totally illegal and discriminatory and I basically got laughed at as they took my money and told me they didnt care. so yeah. I was extremely disappointed. horrible service. horrible sandwich. discriminatory, and lack of knowledge about their own menu. Only good thing I could say about the place is the smoothie I had was pretty decent. Honeygrow's business in the area is just about astonishing, the service at this Honeygrow is exemplary, the food I ordered there has never failed to disappoint with taste and richness. I ordered noodles with spicy garlic and chicken. I would recommend this place to others in the area, even keto friendly for those who are on the keto diet. Great food and service. This week I got a takeout order and they forgot to put in the chicken. I did not discover this until I went back to my office. Only 1 elevator was working so it took awhile to get to my office. When I got there, the chicken was missing from my salad. Ugh! So I went back and of course they gave me the chicken. When I went back the next day, Lisa remembered me and gave me my lunch on the house. REAL SMART. I came back even with the mistake the day before so they weren't gonna lose me as a customer because I like the food so much, but she did the right thing and now I am a customer for life!
