We love Honeypie. We have been going to it since 2018. It is literally the Shake Shack of Vermont. The burgers and fries are fantastic. The menu choice are unique. The ultimate burger joint in Vermont! We love coming here when we visit in the summers, and it's amazing that they have vegetarian options. I always get the veggie burger with beets, tzatziki and shredded cabbage. The pickled red onion gives it the right amount of acid and the Cabot cheese melts it all together. The french fries are shoestring and always come out hot. The Vietnamese Salad and Flash Fried Cauliflower are delicious sides. Unfortunately there aren't many vegan options. I brought a friend and she got the veggie burger without tzatziki but she wasn't able to eat even the vegetarian sides as they use fish sauce. We can't wait to be back again come summer! read more

What a great casual eatery on the side of the road. We stopped by here after our tennis session. I have the Vietnamese sausage sandwich. My partner at the Vt burger. Both were delicious. Food is good love the twist on flavors and green local choices but some stuff can be INCREDIBLY spicy. I love hot stuff but about died here coming home from Bromley with friends and family with a curry chicken wing and salad. Lines are crazy long and the order system is not efficient but kudos to this business for reopening. I'd recommend online ordering and pick up. Stopped in for a late lunch after hitting a swimming hole in the area and boy were we glad we did. I saw there sausage was house made and that sealed the deal. My wife got the Moroccan and I got the Vietnamese. Holy cow these were probably the best sausages I've had. The lightly toasted baguette they were served on was the perfect vessel for these. We were on about a 20-mile bicycle ride when we smelled the charbroiled burgers from Honeypie about a third of a mile away ... even that scent tells you that you're in for something delicious. We had dinner plans so tried to order light, asking for the "Vermont as Funk" burger cut in half by the staff. The egg seemed like it was soft-boiled to me because the yolk was intact - and that's why, it turned out, they couldn't cut it in half themselves ... so instead, they made us each a smaller "slider" kind of burger. That was exceptional customer service; above and beyond, I thought. As for the burger, I'm not usually one for onions or kimchi or anything like that, but the whole concoction together, with mushrooms and especially with the egg yolk that you break yourself when you mush the burger together to get it into your mouth, was amazingly good. So good. My husband thought the burger meat was likely the best he'd ever had (going on 60, he's got some years of taste-testing under his belt). The setting is totally groovy; maybe an old drive-through milk shop or service station; it's perfect for a burger, although expect groovy with a deliciously upscale twist. Honeypie is owned by the same people who own Solo restaurant, which we had tried to visit, but it is still closed after COVID. If these folks can do this with a burger, I can't wait to see what they do with Heirloom tomatoes in a fine dining establishment!!! read more

Burger and fries were on point and a super value: hot, juicy patty on a nice bun, and a generous basket of perfectly cooked shoestring fries. Worth the wait. However, the sausage was dried out, warm (not hot) and served 10 minutes before the burger - pre cooked and kept warm too long? The gazpacho is authentic style (broth with olive oil a la NYT or Bon Appetit), not the typical American chunky salsa type you might expect. Service was friendly, especially considering the crowd. This former gas station turned burger joint serves phenomenally good food. Shake Shack but far superior! Honeypie understands the small details that lead to an extraordinary burger: the first is the Martin's potato roll. The burger patties are cooked perfectly. I normally order my burgers sans lettuce because few things are worse than wilty warm lettuce. Honeypie, however, serves a crisp leaf of Boston lettuce. We've been here a couple times, which I guess says something right there. Our first visit, I think we had no expectations and were pleasantly surprised. The second time, it didn't really resonate quite as much. Its clear they had some money when designing this place. Really reminds me of Xiao Bao Biscuit on the outside - though I think most redone gas stations will share a similar look. Anyway, it looks good, clean, the kitchen has some nice equipment. I can't really tell if its all used for this place or if they also to prep for SoLo - their sister restaurant (which has a very good reputation - it was on our radar well before we moved to Vermont). Both times we visited it was on a weekend and they were doing steady business both times. They use martins potato rolls here - for burgers and dogs - this is something I strongly approve of. Its one of my favorite products and Ive had a difficult time finding one I like more. They toast their buns on a grill, which is something Im not a huge fan of (griddle all the way for me) First visit: OG - Lettuce, Tomato, Special Sauce, American Cheese (another big plus), Pickled Red Onion. Perfectly fine burger. Nothing really stood out as being great, but I'd definitely get it again. Joey - hot dog + bun. Pretty forgettable...but what do you expect. She loves plain hot dogs and thought it was fine. Fried Chicken Sandwich - Ephraim Mountain Farm Chicken, Green Goddess Dressing, Lettuce, Tomato, Pickled Onion and Cabbage. We liked this. It was a chicken patty, rather than a piece of fried chicken. A pleasant surprise, I guess. Think a really good McChicken. Green Goddess could have been a little more assertive to stand up to everything. Fries - Thin fast food style. Not quite what I would call shoe string. I enjoyed them, she prefers thicker, more potato-y fries. Vanilla shake - Honestly I cant really remember, but she says it was pretty good, clean flavor. Second visit: The Late Riser - Fried Egg, Maple-Bacon Breakfast Sausage, Rosemary Potato Hashbrown American Cheese (ours also had lettuce and tomato, which was not requested and is not on the menu description) . This one really caught our eye on our first visit and we were very excited to try it. Unfortunately it was kind of a dud. The rosemary unfortunately overpowered everything and it tasted mostly like a vaguely smokey steamed potato with a fried egg. Lobster Roll - Fresh Maine Lobster Meat, Drawn Butter, Lemon Juice & Celery - Not bad. Certainly better than any we've had so far this summer. Adequate amount of meat for the price ($18). Butter saturated the bun. Needed a pinch of salt (which we added). Celery was a bit more in the front than I'd like. Overall it was fine, but we wouldn't get it again. We may give this place another go - we don't dislike it, but its feeling a little 'whatever' now. Its not inexpensive too....and we're happy to pay for good food...we're just not sure how good it actually is. Another review mentions Worthy Burger, which we have not tried but have definitely wanted to...its about 1.5 hours north. If thats too far for you, or like us, you come from points south/east - The Hungry Diner in Walpole NH (about 50 min east) is a pretty similar concept that - as far as we're concerned - is executed much better. read more

Stopped by after a long hike, ordered aforementioned burger (called the "Bring It" on the menu, also includes American Cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato and pickled onion), a BLT, and some fries. Tiny greasy double burger with bacon and kimchi was $9.00, the milkshake was $6.00 and came out of a machine. The burger patty was greasy and appeared to be fried on a griddle, and was (no joke) about 1/4" thick at best. The bun was totally generic like it came from Aldi or maybe Vons. One little leaf of lettuce rounded out the offering. Not much in the way of flavor from the burger. No hot sauce available, and bland packets of brown mustard or pump ketchup were the only options. No choice about done-ness either. In all fairness the milkshake was acceptable, but not great. This is a totally pretentious operation selling fast food quality food at craft/boutique prices. Decent build out, but this place is a massive let down! Both my son and I agree that In-N-Out walks all over this place in every possible way (flavor, value, vibe) not that you're getting In-N-Out on the East Coast but you get my drift. If you are in the area and you don't stop here you have REALLY messed up!! This is the perfect 'order at the counter get your meal in 7 minutes' type of place! Their OG Burger is the only thing I ever order. Sometimes I tell myself I'm going to stray, but I just cannot it is THAT good. And don't get the $5 smaller version, I have and that extra patty is so important! Served with american cheese, pickled red onions, leafy green lettuce and their most amazing spicy sauce. I warned my husband about our 5th time in, that once he finally gets the OG he won't get anything else again. One day it happened, and like I said, he orders it every time. Sometimes he orders two. I can't place what it was but there was some flavor profile or aftertaste that I didn't quite like in both items. The veggie patty itself was great and the bun was soft. The milkshakes runny and overly sweet with flavored syrup . Lobster roll was small for the price and had more bun than lobster meat. Chicken sandwich is made from pressed chicken meat ...yuck ! Feel this place is an overpriced tourist trap. Can't believe other locals actually eat there, but they probably go get hosed at Solo too! I haven't eaten at this rip-off dump since my last review. Honeypie is a great casual spot for burgers by Stratton Mountain. Everything is homemade, fresh and top notch. I love their veggie burger especially, it's a really interesting creation of grains and beans, served with shredded beets, pickled onions and tzatziki sauce - not your average veggie burger, that's for sure! My only tiny gripe is that I wish they offered more vegetarian options. That said, they've been happy to make me a late riser egg sandwich without the sausage (yummmmm), but I'm just a bit jealous of all the other delicious-looking offerings on the menu. And don't even THINK of skipping dessert!! Super-thick milkshakes and soft-serve ice cream are the perfect end to a tasty meal in this adorable converted gas station. There aren't too many interesting dining options in this neck of the woods, so I was very happy when this place opened about a year and a half ago. They did a great job converting an old gas station into a cool, unique restaurant with a very nice menu. The choices are burgers, sausages and fries - but they've put a twist on all of their items. Excellent quality ingredients, I like the decor inside; they are clearly an environmental team running the place as they have recycling containers clearly marked and their packaging is all recycled/recyclable paper. Bravo Honey Pie. I highly recommend this place and will eat here frequently with my family and friends. read more
