The food is good, especially compared to other Chinese buffets in the area. It's not great, though, and it's not worth the $15 a person they charge. I like the food when it is "fresh". The food is good but the service is terrible. They will not let you do carry out. They used to do carry out and when they did the lady that runs the cash register had to get your food for you. When you did get your food she eyed your food like everyone is trying to steal something. Don't appreciate being treated this way. read more

Went for lunch and there was no orange chicken on the buffet. The General Tso's chicken was very cold and when they put out a fresh tray, it tasted terrible and the meat was gray. The all you can eat sushi was a good deal, but not a lot of selection. Overall the selection of foods at the buffet was pretty poor and disappointing. I agree with the previous reviewer. Not only is the salad bar lacking but the WHOLE buffet in general is lacking. MANY items have been removed from the buffet itself since it was Dynasty buffet. And then they want to charge 13.99!!! Speaking of rip off...so was the pjstar daily deal they just had. The deal was $10 for $20....BUT...you HAD to buy 2 drinks so in reality you were not saving $10, your actually only saving abut $6.50...still a good deal except that the cost for the buffet is way too much for the food they have to offer. Ok to good as far as the foor from a Chinese buffet place goes. Expensive for dinner.. $13 - $15 per person for buffet. They will make you special plate from Mongolian grill which is what I typically start with. Jalapeño chicken is good. Desserts are good. Worst part is the Dragon Lady manager girl. Personality of a rock. Hey Honey, you should at least pretend you appreciate customers instead of acting like you hate them. All the waitress girls seem so grim. Tense atmosphere? The place is clean enough, decor is decent, food is good.... Just pricy for a Chinese Buffett and the mean owner/manager girl. ( not her homely friend hostess...). Food was not bad -- at least the chinese selections. But without a coupon (none were available this month) you are not getting your money's worth for dinner. My pet peeve is when the buffet advertises an item and then does not make it available. In this case it was the crab legs... which are pictured on the menu. They're sneaky about it -- they just neglect to refill the container of crab legs for long periods of time. I stood by the empty container and called attention to the fact that they had not refilled it. After standing there and embarrassing them for 20 minutes, they finally brought some out... and 5 minutes later the many waiting customers had emptied it. For the next 60 minutes we were there, they never brought any more crab legs. They had very good chinese selections, nice sushi, and good BBQ. Didn't try the stir fry, but the raw ingredients looked fresh. And the wait staff is excellent. read more

The restaurant is nicely renovated and it has nice ambiance. I went in early in the evening around 5ish. The food selection by the restaurant is good. But, the food quality was ok ok. The frog legs they had were so dry, They looked like they were sitting there since morning. Green beans were the same. Not fresh. The lady responsible for taking care of the food outside, she was roaming around the counter. But, it seemed like until the pan has been completely over, then only they will change it with fresh food. Overall, I have been at this restaurant quiet a few times. But, this experience was the worst one. I wouldn't recommend anyone going there. I found the new Ming's in East Peoria far better than this one. read more

I really don't understand why this place has any bad reviews. We just tried it for the first time and were very impressed. The food was steaming hot. My daughter dropped a spoon and the waiter was handing me a new one before it even hit the floor. I don't like sushi but the sushi bar looked really cool. All of the food looked very fresh. It did give me instant diarrhea but that's pretty normal for Chinese food. read more

Food was ok. I used to come here a lot when it was Dynasty Buffet. The salad bar is VERY lacking. There was little lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, and bacon bits. Also none of the salad dressings were marked so I hope you know exactly what your favorite looks like! The desserts were just ok, ice cream machine was broken, the Chinese selections were pretty good, though I am not a fan at all of imitation crab meat so some items were a deal breaker for me. Overall I was disappointed because the price is WAY too high for what you get in return. There were 3 people in our party and our meal was just over $50! Seems to me we were paying more for the expensive remodel instead of the food. Do youself a favor and go to a better restaurant where the food is well worth the money. read more

This was a second visit to this buffet, each time we noticed they did not have many customers during our stay from 1130am-1pm. The first visit was during the winter and they made NO effort to put salt on their parking lot and entrance. I could hardly get control of my large SUV on their icy lot. And as we were leaving, again no salt had been put down for our walking and/or driving safety, so we went back in to complain. They acted like it was not a necessary chore. Our second visit, my friend and I had a very interesting experience at Hong Kong. yesterday. As we were paying our lunch bill, I asked two young women behind me if they had a lunch coupon, they said no, so I gave them an extra coupon. One of the Chinese women behind the counter said, "you can't do dat!" I said, "why not?" She came around the counter and yelled at me, "we no want you do dat!" So I told her we would take our business elsewhere and as we left the counter, I remarked that we would never return there! I waited for the two young women to come out of the restaurant and said, "go to the chinese buffet behind Kohls/East Peoria, they have better food and a drink is included" which they said they always do but just happened to be out this way and stopped at Hong Kong, that they would never return there again either. As for Hong Kong's food, both visits I noticed food trays were nearly empty, some foods were over-cooked and not hot enough, surprisingly interesting considering the restaurant had not been open for long! Maybe this explains why they don't have many customers? One thing for sure, is that they need a cashier/hostess with a better attitude! And why would they care that I shared a coupon with someone, what those young gals saved was almost equal to the price increase for their lunch. A reminder to their employees is that this is America, we speak English here and they should, too, among themselves. read more

I've been here a handful of times before and I've never been too thrilled about it, but I just got back from there today and I have to say my opinion has changed from just fine to absolutely terrible. The one thing it still has going for it is that it still feels very clean and the decor seems fairly new. That said, the food that I had was absolutely horrible. The broccoli chicken was slimy and had absolutely no taste. The sesame chicken was so sweet it tasted like candied meat. My nephew took a bite of his fried catfish and couldn't eat any more of it. He said it tasted like soap. To top it all off this place is ridiculously overpriced. Our meal with a soda cost 16 dollars a person. That's how much the lunch cost on a Sunday! I couldn't believe it. I thought I would be receiving lunch prices, but I guess their menu specifies at the bottom that all day on Sunday is full price. The worst part is that this is the first Buffet I've been to where you pay at the end of your meal. Every other lunch buffet I've been to has you pay before the meal. If I had been asked to pay before I never would have stayed at that price. Needless to say I'll never be going back to this place. I guess I'll just have to deal with the fact that there's absolutely nowhere you can go for decent Chinese buffet in the area. read more
