The food has always come exactly how we ordered it (being honest though, we rarely ever change anything) and typically comes before the estimated time of delivery. Take out Chinese is hard to review considering I feel like you always get what you ordered and every place makes Chinese food differently. I rarely find two take-out Chinese places that make Kung Pao chicken the same. You find a place that makes it the way you like and you stick to it. This is my place to order take out. We got their veggie lo mein quart, dinner portion bourbon chicken, chicken in hot pepper sauce pint, and spicy garlic shrimp pint AND fried dumplings. Everything has really good portions and was so so yummy! We usually eat family style when we get takeout from Chinese restaurants and we felt it all went well together. Ordered takeout for dinner for the first time tonight. When I got there my food was already bagged up ready and waiting. When I ordered I was told it would be around 45-55 minutes until it was ready but it was done within 15 minutes so that was great. The lady who was working the counter was very friendly and made sure my order was correct. I got two dinners, one was with the bbq spare ribs and the other was orange chicken. Both dinners came with fried rice and an egg role. Both of the dinners were alright. The rice was good and the egg role was great. The only complaint I had was that both meats were dripping with sauce. There was a pool of sauce at the bottom of my plates and the rice soaked it all up so that made it taste a little funny. The orange chicken was supposed to be spicy but it tasted and smelled really fruity just like an orange which I wasn't a fan of because I was expecting it to be spicier. This place wasn't bad, it's your typical Chinese takeout. I'll be back forsure to try something different since they do have a big menu. If I could I would give them 3.5/5. read more

I think they have new owners? The rice has gotten significantly better and is no longer radioactive yellow. My go-to order is chicken and mushrooms, which I don't think is even on The menu but they will make it. I also like the lo mein. My boyfriend favours the curry tofu rice which is VERY SPICY be warned!!! He also likes the sweet and sour chicken, the beeading is very crispy and satisfying. They also have little coupons on the menu, and they will give you a soda if you buy 10 dollars worth of food, or free crab Rangoon if you spend 20 dollars, which is a nice side to split. Their lunch specials are a great value, that's what I would suggest. The food is out fast and you might even have leftovers since the portion size is generous. I wouldn't take a date here, but it's a great place if you're not feeling like cooking and craving MSG, or you want to grab a cheap meal with a friend. read more

We ordered takeout here after reviewing a handful of local Chinese restaurants to see which seemed the best. The reviews weren't kidding! This is a really nice spot. Our food was still rolling steam when we got it which was awesome! I got the sesame chicken which was pretty tasty and my bf got the Szechuan beef with vegetables and was happy as well. The Rangoon's were delicious little triangles. I was really pleasantly surprised since you know you sometimes never know what delivery Chinese will be like. This will be a new go to for takeout! Note: I can't say anything about delivery, since we only pick up takeout or dine in. This is definitely the best hole in the wall Chinese place downtown. They're open late AND deliver. The prices are good and the food is always fresh. If you spend $20, they'll throw in a free order of crab rangoon. It's nothing fancy, but that's not why you would go to a Chinese takeout place anyway. The spicy orange sauce they put on chicken, beef, and tofu dishes is amazing and has real orange peel in it, I really recommend trying it. My experience was quite disappointing. The wonton soup broth was essentially yellow water with cabbage in it. No seasonings to speak of. I've never had cabbage in wonton soup and wouldn't care to ever again. The wontons were decent, but unfortunately not good enough to save the soup. I got off work late on Christmas Day and thought I was out of luck on dinner since everything was closed. I saw that this place was still open for another half hour. I called and placed my pick up order without an issue and was told it would be ready in 10 minutes. When I got there, it was almost 10 minutes, and my order was neatly bagged and ready to go already. Called in an order 30 minutes before close on the July 4th holiday. They were the only Chinese place I could find open, and I'd never been there before. The lady was so very friendly on the phone, and said my order would be done in 10mins. When I arrived, I was greeted with smiles from all four employees (possibly family members?), who were in the process of eating their own dim sum dinner (no customers were in the place). As I walked in, a woman chanted "EXTRA GARLIC! EXTRA EXTRA GARLIC!!" Which is exactly what I'd requested for my General Tso's chicken, even though it doesn't normally come with garlic. I loved the sense of attention to my detailed order! We had also subbed a few other menu items, which they got correct as well. The sweet lady even took time to answer a question about a large rice cooker I spotted in the restaurant, as I'm in the market for a replacement of my broken one. It's not the closest Chinese place to my house, and I don't eat it very often, but the pleasant experience I had there is enough reason to return. Great chinese, near downtown. Clean. Some heat in the Hunan. Fast. I still find it funny that the name says "Buffet" and they cook to order - no buffet line. I prefer cooked to order. Certainly low on atmosphere, with grey carpet, grey formica tables, and lots of empty space in the dining room. Aside from the owners and a few random chinese calendars, there is little to distinguish this from an empty loft. I liked that our food it wasn't overly oily and the portion sizes were just right. My tofu and mixed veg with garlic sauce was pretty good, I would order again. My husband's mei fun was REALLY salty. Placed a delivery order through the restaurant's online ordering system and got back an error. But they called about 30 mins later to confirm the order (I scheduled the meal to be at 12:15p but placed the order around 10a). So the order did go through. We got two orders off the house special menu. Was surprised at the amount of food. In fact, we've just gotten through our third meal (ordered yesterday) and still have leftovers. Appetizers of egg roll, fried scallops and steamed dumplings. Definitely the steamed dumplings were my favorite (though I really should not eat wheat but sometimes I'm willing to get a little ill). The pork filling was tasty as was the sauce. They also looked handmade as opposed to pre-packaged. I had chicken sesame and wife had General Tsao Tofu. Both were okay but seemed a bit breadier than I would want. Next time I'll try the pepper steak as I had originally planned but somehow changed my mind at the last minute. Driver came 10 minutes earlier than scheduled but that was okay as we had finished up work a little earlier than anticipated. And despite the below freezing temp the food was hot. The food is always fresh and delicious. I have to give them three stars though because I once was sent none with my order that didn't have any rice with it. I really like to keep my most frequented places updated because their consistency is worth recognizing and recommending. We utilize Hong Kong China Restaurant's online ordering often with no issues with delivery as an extra perk. I used to be all about the General Tso's Tofu and after reading a few reviews about this from others, I realize maybe it's not a good idea to recommend a specific food item since these things are subjective and admittedly, I did get a little over excited about a menu item I hadn't had in over a decade promoting it maybe a bit too much. I don't think I've ordered it again in fact! Orange tofu, sesame tofu and general tso's are all guilty pleasure good if you like that sort of thing. But this isn't what this place is about. They're just a consistently good Chinese take out restaurant, so here's what I can say, they always offer friendly, very fast service and of course, great food. As one Yelper said, don't get fancy here but just order what you normally would from Chinese carry out. We have yet to be disappointed with anything we've had delivered. I know I just said I wouldn't recommend anything specifically, but I can't be trusted and will say their Mei Fun is great. Light, delicate and noodles are always cooked perfectly for me. So if you know what this is and like it, give it a shot here. Just saying. First off in order to get delivery you have to spend at least 10 bucks. Unfortunately they forgot my Coke and offered me a credit next time I ordered. If that was to ever happen again. They have your standard Chinese fare, so I ordered one of their dinner specials because it comes with egg rolls (whereas lunch specials do not). I ordered the House Egg Foo Young with no pork, and veggie fried rice instead of pork. Well, a few minutes later I staretd wondering about teh egg roll. What impressed me about the service was my waitress. She came out, brought my lunch then told me that the egg roll was pork, and would I like a veggie egg roll or none at all? I was impressed because she was not teh one who took my order to begin with. That kind of attentiveness is what earns loyalty, and this was a good start. I left her a good tip based solely on that one tidbit (the rest of teh service was spectacular anyway). I will definitely be back. They also deliver. read more

This is probably the best Chinese take out place in the downtown area, and they deliver, which is nice since the only other delivery in the area is pizza. They stay open til like 10 or 11 on the weekends which is nice when I've been running around all day and don't get a chance to eat until like 9pm I can stop in and get something that is relatively cheap and I have the option to choose something relatively healthy if I want to- or at least includes some vegetables, which you can't get at a drive thru. I like the General Tso's Tofu - first place I've been to that offered it, and it is tasty. They will also oblige special requests, which is awesome, I was able to get some Chow Mai Fun made like I used to get when I lived in Chicago and I totally appreciate that. read more

This is your typical dine-in/carry-out Chinese restaurant. I've eaten here for lunch many times and have never been disappointed in their food. If you have a short lunch break like myself, call in your order about 15 minutes before you're ready to pick it up; most times, they'll have it waiting for you. We come here every so often for lunch because it's near the office. I'm not sure if something has changed in management, but everything was so very good. The shrimp roll was hot, fresh, crispy, and not at all greasy. The white rice was was perfectly steamed. The Szechwan beef had a little spice, but not too much, and the flavor was a very beefy, brothy flavor with a good amount of beef ratio to vegetables. We were very happy with lunch and will be back sooner than later. We usually pick up, but they do have tables for dine in. read more

I think our quest for good Chinese in our new area will continue. We popped in on a rainy Saturday afternoon to grab takeout and were the only people in the restaurant. There are a few booths scattered about, but nobody was eating at them (this was around 4 PM). One table, very oddly, had a big bin of raw peas just sitting out on it. Kind of questions how sanitary that was. Then, they have toys and stuff scattered around for their children who apparently hang out at the restaurant while they work. As for food, it was a little bit pricier than the place we used to go in Avon, but had a nice selection. We ordered the sweet and sour chicken, beef in garlic sauce, house special fried rice and fried wanton. The only dish that really seemed solid was the fried rice, which in fairness was really good. The sweet and sour chicken was well breaded and the chicken tasty, but they lost it at the sweet and sour sauce. Overly sweet and almost tasted like a jelly. The beef in garlic sauce was ok, but the sauce was kind of a weird gelatinous texture and didn't have much flavor. Plenty of beef, but virtually no variety in the veggies in it. As for the wanton.......wtf? They were tiny, probably the size of a golf ball. And they were burned to a crisp. Yuck! Yeah, not thinking we'll be back anytime soon. read more

Worst food experience I have ever had. Ordered dumplings and chicken fried rice and my girlfriend ordered soup. Second dumpling I bit into had hard plastic cooked into it. I called to tell what had happened and they said they must of not taken out the meat filling out of the plastic wrapper. They offered no refund and basically acted like it was a normal occurrence.
