Decided to try Ming Jiang after work and not wanting to cook. I've recently moved to the Westside and yet to find good Chinese food. I got a small shrimp fried rice , small beef and broccoli, small sweet and sour chicken , and a chicken egg roll and shrimp egg roll. I called in to order and my order was ready when I got there in about 15 minutes to pick. I got home and was missing my eggs rolls. I called back and the restaurant apologized offered to cook some fresh and add an extra order for the inconvenience. I appreciated that gesture and went back. When I finally sat down to eat, the food was decent. The shrimp fried rice was your typical rice. The beef and broccoli was my fave. Good flavor. The egg rolls and chicken could have been fried harder and were a bit oily. I did notice a special on the menu with 4 different entree for $40. I wish that was offered because I spent $35 and that special would have been better. They do have some chicken socials that I will probably try since they are close to me. Typical Chinese spot better for just take out. I can't remember if there was seating but if I were you I would order to go. I have ordered from this place multiple times. On April 9th the order took FOREVER with no real communication or updates. When I finally received my food I was told that I would be given a credit for my inconvenience. I tried to cash in on that credit this evening and was told that they they had no record at first. Then I was offered an egg roll and a can of soda. I explained that that would not work. Then I was offered $2. Which was less than the delivery fee and pre-paid tip that paid on the initial order. Barely makes a three star, but my brother likes their stuff. We took the eat-in option, which I don't recommend. Take-out is probably better, although the sauce choices are all packaged. We had lunch specials which include either pork egg roll or a soda. Rice options are white, or pork fried rice. For him, these options were great. For me, not so much. The food quality was good and acceptable. Nothing amazing here, but for $5.50 before taxes, it beat the heck out of "fast food". For a takeout or delivery place, you (and maybe your group) will do OK, and won't go broke. No frills, but the food was decent. I probably won't be back, but he will. read more

I'm getting so sick and tired of these Chinese restaurants trying to scam you on the meat if you order shrimp fried rice then you expect shrimp to be in your rice these people put a couple of shrimp on the rice and I didn't see shrimp again until I got to the very bottom and I ordered a large and paid for extra shrimp what's the point in giving them your money if they not going to give you good service I will be better off learning how to make my own shrimp fried rice at home. I generally feel like Chinese takeout spots in Indy are 90% the same...lifeless food drenched in sticky, bland sauce, but not this place. Here's the scoop on my order today: Beef & broccoli - beef was flavorful, broccoli was fresh & instead of dominating the dish, the sauce enhanced the experience General Tso's chicken - Delicious! Best in Indy for sure. Crab rangoon - crispy & fresh...not life changing but good I've been here several times & have never been disappointed, but they've stepped things up recently and it's noticeable. Food safety is very vital for any food place which mean having clean food or clean place and that was a big negative for this place. The food smelled very odd and tasted nothing like any Chinese food I ever had (in a bad way). Almost tasted like old oil was use. They are clearly over charging for the poor quality food they are serving their community. They sell one almost cookie for $1 and it's stale and bad and old. Go there at your own risk! Lomain tasted so bad had no chicken which we ordered. Fried rice was so dry. Chicken egg rolls were also not good. And the spring roll they served were smaller than your pinky and again old oil smell and probably bought from the frozen isles of dollar store. read more

Update #2: I was harassed on Facebook five months after the initial update by I'm assuming to be a fake account of the delivery driver calling me and my wife names and just general being uncivilized. Her name on the account is mable smith. Update: I've never had a problem with this place but i ordered delivery for me and my wife yesterday and three things bothered me, one I got food poisoning, two the rice was gross tasting compared to their usual, and three, and this is the biggest for me, is the delivery driver had her young daughter run the food up to me while she sat in the car. read more

I've given Ming Jiang 2 tries before this review. I want so badly for there to be good Chinese take-out in my neighborhood. This place isn't knock your socks off, but it gets the job done. To start, upon entering the store, there is a distinct smell of oil. The smell is so strong that you take a little with you. One way to avoid this is to use you Yelp Eat24 app to order (shameless plug). There aren't many places that will deliver to Eagle Creek so this is a major plus in my book. Now, for the food: as Chinese takeout goes, this place uses pretty fresh veggies. The carrots and broccoli are always pretty crisp and colorful. The traditional (Americanized) Chinese food flavors are definitely there. If you're looking for Chinese food in the Eagle Creek area, this is definitely a place to try. read more

Its Friday night and all I wanted was Chinese food and a good movie to watch. I called for a delivery order. Ordered Bourbon Chicken combo, with fried rice and eggroll. A small side of veggie lo mein and some crab ragoons (wasn't much of an order.) Before I got off the phone, I asked how long would the order take...they said 30-40 minutes. Okay, thats fair enough for a Friday. So in the meantime, I started the movie of choice...30 minutes passed, 40 minutes passed,... 1 hour passed. I called by this time, they say another 10 minutes. Well, they didn't get to my house until about 15 minutes before my movie was over. I was starving.... The only reason I gave two stars, my food was hot, and the delivery guy said "Have a blessed day". The bourbon chicken was alright.... Panda Express does it better. read more

This is our go to restaurant for Chinese takeout. The crab Rangoon is delicious! Wrong or right it tends to be how we judge most Asian restaurants, and Ming Jang is tops! The delivery driver was fast and courteous, and a bit surprised that I gave her a tip. It was well earned. I also have a son in the service industry and believe strongly in tipping. They only make a little over $2 without tips. Not saying bad service should be rewarded, but good service needs recognition. Horrible!!! I ordered through grub hub and it took foooooooorever because they deliver their own food (wth) and so I had to call them. The food was disgusting and cold and full of soy sauce ... I have never been to any restaurant where the cook put soy sauce in your food . It was nasty as hell. Had to wait for over an hour for my delivery and l live 2 miles from their restaurant. The fried rice is disgusting with waaaay too much soy sauce. And they forgot to include the fries noodles with my wife's chicken chow mein (which is her favorite part of the dish). When I called to have them bring me some or give me a credit, they said they could do nothing but would give me double noodles next time. I told her there wouldn't be a next time. I've always been a fan of this restaurant but after today I don't think I will be able to eat food from them again. My wife and i decided to call for pickup today. We placed our order for pick up no problem. When we arrived at the restaurant to pick up our food there was a notice from the health department on their front door that the restaurant was closed. The door was propped open so I wonder if they were trying to hide this fact. Seeing this we left and picked up food elsewhere. About another half hour later the restaurant had the nerve to call us to tell us the order was ready and when we explained that we had stopped and saw the sign they just hung up on us. I absolutely understand that things happen but to have the nerve to keep their restaurant open with a closed sign from the health department on the door just shows that they don't have any respect for the health of their customers or running an honest business. read more

My partner and I order Ming Jiang for delivery a couple times a month. The food is good and always delivered with extra sauces and to our specifications. I will say though that the delivery time is SLOWWWWW. Not slow enough to make me stop ordering all together, but several times they've arrived later than expected. read more

Right off the highway I love this place. It's kind of a "whole in the wall" place that's okay because it's the funds have clearly been invested in the food! I've tried Chinese up north and east and this place is the best by far. I've tried so many things on the menu and everything has been good. Great lunch specials. I love the crab ragoons because they make them sweet and every other Chinese place I've been to here make them bitter. Food gets delivered but the items requested on the order for condimemts... chopsticks, spoon, salt & pepper, and napkins, not included, I have no way to eat the food... Food has changed. Egg rolls are tiny and mushy inside, like what you'd get in the freezer at the grocery. The pork fried rice isn't as flavorful. These are my usual and have definitely changed since the last time I ordered which was a month or so ago. Delivery is fairly fast though. read more
